Is this your first time ever getting a 4K player and watching 4K discs? I got one last year and I do think 4K discs look superior to blu ray discs despite what most 4K naysayers say, the HDR color alone blows it away. That Nightmare on Elm Street does look pretty good and we might be getting the sequels next year. When you said you had Friday the 13th part 2 4K coming, did you buy the Paramount Scares box volume 2? I just got that and part 2 was definitely the best looking 4K in that set, almost too good for a movie like that. I agree, streaming sucks and doesn't compare to what a 4K disc can give you, people really need to get off this "convenience" band wagon..... it's just laziness.
Yes it's my first time. The Paramount Scares box volume 2 is next in my wish list to buy. The Friday the 13th Part 2 I purchased is coming from Britain and I'm pretty sure it's locked. If it doesn't play that's fine because I love the Friday the 13th franchise and will keep it as a collectors item. Although I seen where there is a trick to get locked discs to play but I'm not sure if it will actually work or if it could cause any damage to the player itself.
@@OCTCaNnIBaL22 If the Friday the 13th part 2 disc you bought from Britain is a 4K disc then it shouldn't be locked because 4Ks are region free. There's a lot more international freedom with the 4K format.
How much did that player set you back? I've been hearing good things about it and the UB820. I'm sticking to Blu-Ray for the foreseeable future. I get all my Blu-ray DVDs for $1 or less at flea markets and garage sales. Over 700 movies so far for less than $500 which is a steal. I may get another Blu-ray player though and stop using my PS3.
The UB820 is a great player. I've been using it for the past several years. The 9000 unit shown in this video, its build quality is outstanding, but really the only reason to spend the money on it is if you're going to use its on-board digital to analog converters for the audio. I only use my player as a reader to feed my home theater processor. If I were to get another player and I was going to splurge, I'd probably go with Magnetar.

Nice man. I got it for $914 on Amazon.

I love how you seamlessly transitioned from talking about movies to weed 😂
The last of the great Blu-ray players. After Sony did away with the 1000 model they used to make. And truly one of the best disc spinners ever made
