Sure it was a BL2 DLC who brought it all up, but compared to other Borderlands DLC's or Borderlands itself it still felt quite different, because instead of the Scifi route which you saw in any other DLC(even the pirate one) this have gone directly Fantasy. Fighting Fantasy-Mobs like skeletons and stuff, especiall with this new entry which adds more fantasy elemetns like proper Spells(instead of grenades) and stuff. It also reflects on the Map/World Design where you have instead of Sci-Fi inspired Planets, now a pure Fantasy World. So it's borderlands, but it's also something differently, and it's seems like that was the OP is refering to the "mixing" argument.
This actually just got me hyped for this game!! Havent really followed any news about this game, but just seeing the different classes, abilities and the mention of multi-class system is giving me old school mmo vibes, and I love it!!!
super excited for this..... graveborn + brr-zerker sounds really fun with the high risk high reward life stealing melee/magic or battlemage playstyle. along with a haunted knight aesthetic.
I was thinking the same thing with the sub class but going brr-zerker for primary mostly because those two seem to be heavily melee based and I see them being op
What you didn't mention is that Spellshot can equip two spells at once as a replacement to having an ability, and they get bonuses every time they cast spells in their skill tree.
Just loving Lost Ark atm. Good old days of stunning vistas and hand-drawn art from Korea. Took me back to the good old times of Legend of Mir in the early 2000s. Lost Ark isn't quite as hardcore tho. At least not loosing items on death like LOM.

I love Borderlands and it mixed with D&D, just take my freakin money. I loved the Assault on Dragon Keep DLC in Borderlands 2. I can't believe this. I'm so hyped! Borderlands 3 was a huge let down for me. I did enjoy it, but not as the second game and YES not as pre-sequel! My first character gonna be most likely Stabomancer + Clawbringer, but i really like the idea of Stabomancer+Brr-serker. I've asked for melee weapons WAY back then in borderlands 1 and 2. How cool would that be, then it happened and im so exicted! This game is focuses around spells, melee and action skills. You can do gun builds, if that's your fetish. Let me explain why do i like this multi-class combination, so let's dive in to it: [Stabomancer (Rogue) + Clawbringer (Paladin) = Damage Over Time Melee Assassin] like playstyle A) Passives: 30% Critical hit chance + Wyvern companion B) Action Skill: From the Shadows (stealth with fix critical hit, but -25% critical hit damage modifier) early on, then when we have enough crit or it's capped, then Storm Dragon's Judgment (huge area of effect lightning damage over time ability.) C) Stabomancer skill tree: -Melee critical hits apply status effects, which gain damage from melee damage dealt by 10% [There're 5 status effect: ignite (fire); shock (lightning); poison (corrosive); slow/freez (cryo); life steal debuff (dark magic). Perhaps there're more, so i might be wrong] -Status effects has 24% chance to spread to nearby enemies, if there're no foes nearby apply status effect to the initial enemy. (Basically makes your damage over time effects spread as area of effect) -Status effects increase your damage done by 6%. This can stack! (to 5, maybe more) -Status effect last longer by 40% and gain 20% damage. -12% melee attack speed and movment speed. It doubles, when you cast a spell. (Nice gap closer and gives you more chance to apply status effect, because you are fast and a massive upgrade to melee damage output) -Critical hits gives you 1% damage dealt. This can stack to 25! (Massive melee upgrade) -Gun damage increase your next melee attack's damage by 6% and it can stack to 10. -Gun and spell criticals can apply an ethereal blade above the target, which will do 100% melee weapon damage after a short delay. (You gonna use your guns, while running next to your target.) -Gain 12-15% melee, gun, spell damage or 9-15% Critical hit damage ( I wouldn't max this out, because we don't have enough point for multi-class. Put the remaining points in here). D) Clawbringer skill tree: -20% lightining damage to melee attacks and your companion deals 20% bonus lightning damage as well. -20% elemental damage aura, which will give you and your party a pernament buff. -Kill skill: Summon lightning orbs, which will seek out enemies, if you killed a foe with a melee attack or wywern's claw. Summon fire orbs. if you killed an enemy with a gun or wywern's breath attack. E)Hero stats: 50 points at max level. -Wisdom: 30 (Max): Gives you status effect damage by 2% for each point (Essential for this build) -Dexterity: "Around" 20-30: Gives you critical hit chance by 1% for each point (You need to cap the critical hit chance to apply status effects). -The rest to eihter ?Strenght: Gives you critical hit damage by 1,25% for each point or ?Attunement: Gives you action skill cooldown rate by 1% for each point F) Playstyle: You going to start with your gun (what a surprise) to stack up the melee damage, also with critical hits you gain increase damage dealt stacks. With gun or spell critical hits you can activate your cap stone ability, which is ethereal blade. Meanwhile your companion pew-pew foes from behind. You close the gap with high mobility, then you'll use a spell to increase your melee attack speed, after that use From the Shadows. You've just entered stealth, mobs can't see you, so you decide to fuck up them with a good old fashioned ambush spiced with some lightning damage. You do apply status effects, cause you're doing critical hits with your slashes. Your damage is increase for each status effect and spreads to every enemy nearby. You've killed your opponent, then your kill skill triggers and lightning orbs seek out your next target who takes increased damage, because your damage over time effects, just spread, then you continue to your next target. Late game, you want to start your fight with Storm Dragon's Judgment, but for boss battles it will be a must have. So this playtyle not gonna be the best for mobbing (a decent one), but it might be the best for single target dps. Probably the ultimate boss killer, unless the [Spellshot + Clawbringer = Elemental Gunslinger] or [Spellshot + Graveborn = Warlock] beats it. G) I've no idea, about the gear, yet. What i'm sure about is you want to use swift weapon manifacture as your melee, also for enhancment you gonna need status effect damage or life leech.
I love fire damage, so I'm going Clawbringer. It just looks like an all around fun class, and I don't think smashing the hammer down would ever get old. Plus it has a pet _dragon_ so ya'.
@@kadinkuntz2028 Bl3 was nowhere near bad lmao. The antagonist and some story points? Yeah. The DLCs? Yeah a tad dogshite BUT! The gameplay and general improvements overall were league's away from Bl2 and also the customizer isnt bad. Oh and photo mode of Tannises big booty are all the reason I need but yeah... To say it was bad completely is a terrible opinion I think
Would absolutely pre-order 2 copies for my wife and I.... if it wasn't for how they handle Borderlands games and the DLC. Within 2 years, you'll be able to get a complete edition, with over $100 worth of DLC on it.... for like $20-$30. It's so difficult to spend over $120 on 2 copies.... when we'll be able to get 2 copies for less than the price of 1.
Sporewarden + Graveborn look really interesting, it seems like Stabomancer doesn't synergize much with the other classes if it's about stealth unless sporewarden has CC?
@@unafflictedgaming well it is a pretty generic stealth class, down to the ranged sneak attack, albeit with the customization and multiclassing this should help make things interesting
At first I wasn’t sure what to think about this game, especially after BL3, but after the most recent gameplay showcase I’m impressed. BL+DND is a brilliant combo, and the humor seems on point so far.
I kind of wonder about people that don't like 3. The story is worse than 2 but better than 1. And literally everything else about 3 is the best in any BL game. Imho 3 is the best BL game so far.
@@armyofninjas9055 Highly disagree, BL3 story is miles worse than 1 and 2, and 1 hardly even had a story. 3’s one and only improvement was the gunplay and overall feel of the game, which does feel great. But way too many legendaries that drop invalidating their “rareness”, no boss specific loot, terrible story and killed off beloved characters for bad story reasons, jokes mostly unfunny and feels forced compared to previous games, even pre sequel. the UI WAS ridiculously slow (haven’t played in a while so who knows if they fixed that, probably not) Not saying you’re opinion is wrong but it’s very unpopular. Most people who played the first two games really hated what they did with 3. But if 3 was your first game then I guess you wouldn’t really know or care about what made these games fantastic to begin with.
@@armyofninjas9055 2 was pretty basic story-wise. I would say the characters were better realized and that set it apart from 3. That said, I agree with you that BL3 had a lot of good content going for it and I had plenty of fun (I've played all the other BL games and I still think so).
@@Zoidberryable Yea, the story was far better than BL1, but that's because BL1 had no story. I mean, I still remember being pissed off at that ending haha. But, the gameplay is what made that work. So, with BL2 having better gameplay AND an actual story was great. Plus, better fleshing out the main grew was good, but what made that story great was the villain you loved to hate: Handsome Jack!

i don't know much about the lore of the Borderland games so i assume it takes place far into the future, if so it's nice to know that D&D is still around that far into the future
I started this game several times, and Clawbringer was the first class that really stuck with me. Both action skills are just so much fun. I combined him with the Brrrzerker for some extra durability, but primarily focused on the clawbringer tree.
@@WolfheartFPS Exactly. Love it when they actually put thought and effort into those systems. Otherwise things just get ridiculous which leads to nerfs (which often hit too hard).
thinking clawbringer with graveborn. CB seems like it will have high health and healing with decent constant AoE damage. GB seems like it will have immense burst damage potential, along with kill skills that might augment clawbringers power even further. plus, would get a lich pet that fires along with me as i cast spells, and a dragon who will constnatly be attacking. sounds like fun.
Bro necromancer looks dope! Although the mention multiclassing has just made me more impatient for the full release of bg3, pls dear lord let it come out this year.
I'll probably go Spellshot as a primary with Graveborn as the secondary. The goal will be to find a spell that has a Singularity effect and pair it with a strong AoE spell; with the Demilich casting on top of that for some extra damage. That should play a bit like Maya did in BL2, where you spec into Converge, Ruin, and Acid Cloud(heavily buffed in a late game patch) to consolidate enemies and wreck them with overlapping elemental damage.
Huh, I was thinking of a ranged/melee combo, but that sounds pretty good too. Honesltly depending on how different the gameplay feels, I'll probably have multiple playthroughs with different calsses
Since multiclassing isn't going to come until much later in the game I would settle for trying at least upto 2-4 classes, here's what sounds similar to previous vault hunters so far: 1. Stabbomancer (Lilith), 2. Brr-zerker (psycho krieg)
Will be hard to choose ! The multiclassing is a pretty in-depth thing, I mean they are really making this game at 100% effort! Sounds like it good very well be one of the best games of 2022.

This game will be an crazy festival. I loved the Tiny Tina PnP Dlcs in Borderlands 2. After this Video i think I will go with the Spellshot as main class, with Stabbomancer as sub
Hopefully this game doesn't drown you in Legendries like BL3 did, although the classes do look a lot more interesting than the Vault Hunters in BL3 at least, and you can Multiclass which is honestly very cool.
so... why ppl hating on this game? I haven't played but it seems fun, and having multiple active skills is something I always wanted on BL games.. it puzzles me that they would only have ONE active skill and that's it on every BL games prior to this one.
The game looks fun and while I do khave some reservations about just turning what was a good dlc into a full game.... so far nothing about it seems bad or horrible. It comes out the day after my birthday to so that also helps.
5 very good classes and 1 bad class the stealth one. Gearbox just never got them right imo probably because there is no stealth mechanic. Spell shot will definitely be one of mine. The other will be either claw bringer or brr zerker But the necromancer one will be a powerful choice as well.
There was a DLC/Expansion of Borderlands 2 about Tiny Tina's fantasy world, called "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep" that had the exact same concept. I guess people liked it enough, since they made a real game about it.
So they are using the PSO subclass system minus the ability to get skill points for both classes as they level, the ability to swap classes at will and a "class loadout" feature. This could get interesting

Waiting for this one for sure. Good to play some looter shooter to just react without thinking. :) Not too bothered with the classes, spells or anything else atm. The company can be trusted to get them right on time. I will play them all anyway. And then multiclass after. :D
Its a shame you can't use both of you Active Skills, and you gotta select 1 or the other. Even, if you could only use 1 at a time, the game would be so much more fun if you could pick which Action Skill you use based on the situation. For a game that's supposedly so inspired by dungeon crawling RPGs, it's crazy that they've never let you go off with the abilities. It's like they never actually played one before. There's usually at least 4 to 6 casting abilities AND ALSO your basic attacks. Maybe when you unlock multiclass, you can go from 2 to 4 castable skills. That'd be dope!
This is definitely not that important but: The Spellshot class is a lot more like a Sorcerer. Wizard tends to be what people call mages in general, but the Spellshot definitely ain't studying their magic like a Wizard does.
there is now, but probably didn't before because they don't want to potential spoil which areas are in which part of the game as if you see 10 damage you know that it's the beginning of the game or if you start seeing hundreds or thousands you know your in endgame. Also damage numbers are most likely not final.
Can't wait to absolutely wreck myself into oblivion by combining stabomancer and graveborn, and getting absolutely blasted back checkpoint after checkpoint
The spore warden is such a let down... We already have cold spells on other characters so they could have gone for something more poison-like or using roots, making walls, ... No, they chose the easy path with the blizzard -_-
Agreed. Two blizzard characters with one being called Spore Warden? How did that make sense? I was hoping for more melee focus instead of the usual Borderlands mountain of guns.
Ok so now they just need to stick the landing. Put in something like the badass points from 2 and we can all try all the builds forever. Heck dlc character is exponential growth

Tbf, this is just more assault on dragon's keep. Which is a BL dlc. So technically, this game isn't a mix of anything. It just looks like borderlands.

Considering a Spore-Warden+Graveborne for a potent companions build that (hopefully) grants firepower to the character as well.

You going to start with your gun (what a surprise) to stack up the melee damage, also with critical hits you gain increase damage dealt stacks. With gun or spell critical hits you can activate your cap stone ability, which is ethereal blade. Meanwhile your companion pew-pew foes from behind. You close the gap with high mobility, then you'll use a spell to increase your melee attack speed, after that use From the Shadows. You've just entered stealth, mobs can't see you, so you decide to fuck up them with a good old fashioned ambush spiced with some lightning damage. You do apply status effects, cause you're doing critical hits with your slashes. Your damage is increase for each status effect and spreads to every enemy nearby. You've killed your opponent, then your kill skill triggers and lightning orbs seek out your next target who takes increased damage, because your damage over time effects, just spread, then you continue to your next target.
Late game, you want to start your fight with Storm Dragon's Judgment, but for boss battles it will be a must have.
So this playtyle not gonna be the best for mobbing (a decent one), but it might be the best for single target dps. Probably the ultimate boss killer, unless the [Spellshot + Clawbringer = Elemental Gunslinger] or [Spellshot + Graveborn = Warlock] beats it.
G) I've no idea, about the gear, yet. What i'm sure about is you want to use swift weapon manifacture as your melee, also for enhancment you gonna need status effect damage or life leech.
I love fire damage, so I'm going Clawbringer. It just looks like an all around fun class, and I don't think smashing the hammer down would ever get old. Plus it has a pet _dragon_ so ya'.

It's either the hammer OR the Dragon, right? Like the BL games, you can only select 1 action skill to cast? If so, that's gonna be SO disappointing.
@@MyZ001 The wyvern companion is part of the Clawbringer's passive actually so it's always there and you can use the hammer skills too

To say it was bad completely is a terrible opinion I think

Within 2 years, you'll be able to get a complete edition, with over $100 worth of DLC on it.... for like $20-$30. It's so difficult to spend over $120 on 2 copies.... when we'll be able to get 2 copies for less than the price of 1.

Sporewarden + Graveborn look really interesting, it seems like Stabomancer doesn't synergize much with the other classes if it's about stealth unless sporewarden has CC?

At first I wasn’t sure what to think about this game, especially after BL3, but after the most recent gameplay showcase I’m impressed. BL+DND is a brilliant combo, and the humor seems on point so far.
I kind of wonder about people that don't like 3. The story is worse than 2 but better than 1. And literally everything else about 3 is the best in any BL game. Imho 3 is the best BL game so far.
@@armyofninjas9055 Highly disagree, BL3 story is miles worse than 1 and 2, and 1 hardly even had a story. 3’s one and only improvement was the gunplay and overall feel of the game, which does feel great. But way too many legendaries that drop invalidating their “rareness”, no boss specific loot, terrible story and killed off beloved characters for bad story reasons, jokes mostly unfunny and feels forced compared to previous games, even pre sequel. the UI WAS ridiculously slow (haven’t played in a while so who knows if they fixed that, probably not)
Not saying you’re opinion is wrong but it’s very unpopular. Most people who played the first two games really hated what they did with 3. But if 3 was your first game then I guess you wouldn’t really know or care about what made these games fantastic to begin with.
@@armyofninjas9055 2 was pretty basic story-wise. I would say the characters were better realized and that set it apart from 3. That said, I agree with you that BL3 had a lot of good content going for it and I had plenty of fun (I've played all the other BL games and I still think so).

@@Zoidberryable Yea, the story was far better than BL1, but that's because BL1 had no story. I mean, I still remember being pissed off at that ending haha. But, the gameplay is what made that work. So, with BL2 having better gameplay AND an actual story was great. Plus, better fleshing out the main grew was good, but what made that story great was the villain you loved to hate: Handsome Jack!

I'd say probably before borderlands 3 as tiny tina doesn't have the bandaid in bl3 like it's bl2 model.

I'm currently playing a clawbringer and it's so much fun!
I started this game several times, and Clawbringer was the first class that really stuck with me. Both action skills are just so much fun. I combined him with the Brrrzerker for some extra durability, but primarily focused on the clawbringer tree.
Multiclassing sounds like it's gonna be crazy fun for this game. So happy they decided to include it.

thinking clawbringer with graveborn. CB seems like it will have high health and healing with decent constant AoE damage. GB seems like it will have immense burst damage potential, along with kill skills that might augment clawbringers power even further. plus, would get a lich pet that fires along with me as i cast spells, and a dragon who will constnatly be attacking. sounds like fun.

Be kinda cool to have a tank when you need it, a pet, and the ability to dual wield spells for crazy damage.

I'll probably go Spellshot as a primary with Graveborn as the secondary. The goal will be to find a spell that has a Singularity effect and pair it with a strong AoE spell; with the Demilich casting on top of that for some extra damage. That should play a bit like Maya did in BL2, where you spec into Converge, Ruin, and Acid Cloud(heavily buffed in a late game patch) to consolidate enemies and wreck them with overlapping elemental damage.
Huh, I was thinking of a ranged/melee combo, but that sounds pretty good too. Honesltly depending on how different the gameplay feels, I'll probably have multiple playthroughs with different calsses

Since multiclassing isn't going to come until much later in the game I would settle for trying at least upto 2-4 classes, here's what sounds similar to previous vault hunters so far:
1. Stabbomancer (Lilith),
2. Brr-zerker (psycho krieg)
Will be hard to choose ! The multiclassing is a pretty in-depth thing, I mean they are really making this game at 100% effort! Sounds like it good very well be one of the best games of 2022.

This game will be an crazy festival. I loved the Tiny Tina PnP Dlcs in Borderlands 2. After this Video i think I will go with the Spellshot as main class, with Stabbomancer as sub
Hopefully this game doesn't drown you in Legendries like BL3 did, although the classes do look a lot more interesting than the Vault Hunters in BL3 at least, and you can Multiclass which is honestly very cool.

The game looks fun and while I do khave some reservations about just turning what was a good dlc into a full game.... so far nothing about it seems bad or horrible. It comes out the day after my birthday to so that also helps.
5 very good classes and 1 bad class the stealth one. Gearbox just never got them right imo probably because there is no stealth mechanic.
Spell shot will definitely be one of mine.
The other will be either claw bringer or brr zerker
But the necromancer one will be a powerful choice as well.

There was a DLC/Expansion of Borderlands 2 about Tiny Tina's fantasy world, called "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep" that had the exact same concept.
I guess people liked it enough, since they made a real game about it.

So they are using the PSO subclass system minus the ability to get skill points for both classes as they level, the ability to swap classes at will and a "class loadout" feature. This could get interesting

Waiting for this one for sure. Good to play some looter shooter to just react without thinking. :) Not too bothered with the classes, spells or anything else atm. The company can be trusted to get them right on time. I will play them all anyway. And then multiclass after. :D
Its a shame you can't use both of you Active Skills, and you gotta select 1 or the other. Even, if you could only use 1 at a time, the game would be so much more fun if you could pick which Action Skill you use based on the situation.
For a game that's supposedly so inspired by dungeon crawling RPGs, it's crazy that they've never let you go off with the abilities. It's like they never actually played one before. There's usually at least 4 to 6 casting abilities AND ALSO your basic attacks. Maybe when you unlock multiclass, you can go from 2 to 4 castable skills. That'd be dope!

The Spellshot class is a lot more like a Sorcerer. Wizard tends to be what people call mages in general, but the Spellshot definitely ain't studying their magic like a Wizard does.

there is now, but probably didn't before because they don't want to potential spoil which areas are in which part of the game as if you see 10 damage you know that it's the beginning of the game or if you start seeing hundreds or thousands you know your in endgame. Also damage numbers are most likely not final.
The class system seems like a carbon copy of Guild Wars 1's.
Can't wait to absolutely wreck myself into oblivion by combining stabomancer and graveborn, and getting absolutely blasted back checkpoint after checkpoint

The spore warden is such a let down... We already have cold spells on other characters so they could have gone for something more poison-like or using roots, making walls, ... No, they chose the easy path with the blizzard -_-
