Still to this day, the Shadow ship's are the most visually stunning and scariest ships I have seen in any science fiction. And it's great to see how much more impressive they are today with newer enhanced digital effects. Not to mention the shadows themselves. It was great to finally see completely non humanoid aliens too. Now that production companies have the prosthetic and FX technology to create really creative non humanoid aliens in sci fi that aren't monsters, I hope we'll see more writer's and producers willing to be more imaginative and realistic about aliens.
I consider him the best villain in all series I have seen. Also due to the duality. He is bad to the enemies of the Shadow (like the devil even) but good for the shadows and their followers. Even Sauron didnt care about his legions of soldiers or his allies in Lord of the Rings and I think that story is the best ever told.
"At some point we may come back and ask you for a *FAVOR*" "What do you want, Mr. Vir?" "I want to live *JUST* long enough to be there when they stick your head on a pike as a reminder to the next *TEN* generations that some favors come at too high a price. And I want to wave into your lifeless eyes ..... like this"
yes but this is also the point that Londo sold his soul. Despite all his protests, he neither renounces Mr Morden, nor does he run to anyone to confess his crimes. Mr Morden is quite right that Londo will be their puppet, and while there were some hiccups, he was mostly correct. Only at the end because Londo feared something GREATER than the Shadows, did he turn from them. i mean seriously, one can only imagine the sheer rage of the Vorlon High Command must have vented when Londo called them like "Okay, i broke treaty with the Shadows and blew up all their ships on Centauri Prime. We're even now. No hard feelings for #$@#$ i did or how much i screwed up everything for you guys, right? So you can take your little planet killer and go bother someone else now, yes? Have a nice day."
Closest thing to a Mass Effect show we may ever get. Even with dated looking effects the storytelling of the show was ahead of it’s time. Great series!
The guys who created Mass Effect were big Babylon 5 fans. They have said at conventions that B5 was their biggest influence and they were saddened when the franchise was cancelled permanently back in the mid 2000s. I think one of them said the death of thee Sierra B5 game was what gave him the idea to create their own. They changed things enough that WB couldn't got after them legally.
It’s just a shame that they didn’t follow JMS’ style of planning ahead and having contingencies for any changes required, hence the directionless dumpster fire that was Mass Effect 3.
There are many European cities which have more than four quarters. A quarter just means "area associated with". Though another term like "sector" would be better.
A quadrant is just a quarter of a circle, it is not describing a quarter of the galaxy and nothing but a quarter of the galaxy. It CAN be used to describe a corner of a galaxy just like it can be used to describe the shape of the orange piece I just ate.
But a quadrant is applied to a two dimensional space. So it makes no sense in any kind if you follow that route. "We" operate on a surface, land or sea, but with space it becomes definitely a three dimensional matter: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octant_(solid_geometry)
It's a shame that we never get to see how powerful the shadow ship really are they have more than just one weapon and are more powerful than the vorlons that's why the vorlons need telepathy without telepathy nothing stand's a chance against the shadows my favourite easily have to be one of the best ship design's

I can suspend my disbelief pretty far, but how in the heck can there be a "quadrant 37"? It's a quadrant. You cannot divide an area into more than four quadrants, hence the "quad" part of the word. Are the "quadrants" numbered 36,37,38, and 39? Am I supposed to believe that an advanced civilization with space travel somehow got there without knowing what words mean? I'm not buying any of this.
Maybe the Narn use the human word "Quadrant" differently and use it according to their own language and definition. Us "Ooomans" use the term "sectors"....whereas the Narn use "Quadrants".
Sometimes a term changes because of an error or mis/re-application. "Atom" originally meant "indivisible", but the term was kept even when the unit thus termed was revealed to have inner divisions. Maybe "Quadrant" is a mistranslation of a Narn term referring to the size of a sector -- one-fourth the size of an area they used as a unit -- which was re-applied to a much larger area, hence Quadrant 37. Or maybe it's short for, say, "Quadrant 4, section 37". I'm just making these explanations up, of course; I have no idea if either one corresponds to what JMS had in mind; in fact, I'm pretty sure that they don't. From a script-writing point of view, it probably would have been better if he'd simply written it as "Section 37", which would have raised no eyebrows. ("Sector 37" would only work if it corresponded to the sector numbering used elsewhere in the B5 universe.)
A quadrant isn't a quarter of the galaxy, it's a quarter of a specified circle. Any circle, which can be the galaxy if you're looking at the whole thing. I don't know if circles more sense than squares/cubes but that's not the argument. If you use 'quadrants' to divide space, you can have subdivisions of more quadrants within your quadrants.
It could be that there are only 4 Quadrants, but each one is split into sectors therefore Quadrant 37 is in fact a shorthand of "Quadrant 3, Sector 7".

Ed Wasser did a great job of playing Morden, he portrayed him as such a slimeball.

Who wants to speculate that Morden was a latent telepath of some type?
"No price". Morden said. The was one. And a dearly one there came about in the end.
Very fatal yes...
Does anyone want to tell JMS that there are only FOUR quadrants? If you have 37 of them they're not quadrants anymore!
There could be 37 with 4 parts in it;)
