2:47 - how do they get to these many significant figures, this is so weird. Have they calculated that through some skill/damage/whatever-matching algorithm during testing?
Some precision is lost because of how floating point numbers work. It almost honestly looks like they used some kind of GUI with sliders to generate these files and they moved it a bit too far for the turret damage.
Omg? Who could have this mad idea to play around damage multiplyers and speed, instead of let's say, spirited demons are 66.6% faster and take that much less damage, job done. Is there a file for buff totems and archviles? :D
for anyone stuck on these buggers, the microwave beam is also very effective against them while they have the spirit buff. it stops them from rushing you down. just save some ammo for when the spirit pops out
Based decino, recognizing that the spirit's buff is a DR and not an HP increase. That said, I'm pretty sure the DR is what's responsible for providing their resistance to weapon staggering (i.e quickswitching weapons), since i've heard that really fast weapon switching burst damage is capable of faltering possessed demons. Obviously they have special immunities for concussive blasts like from M. Beam, grenade, Remote Detonate, etc.

The Spirit section is at the bottom. The pinned comment is correct, Sam's Spirits do have different multipliers. You might wonder why not all the demons listed in the video have sections, that is because they cannot be possessed. bowsr tested this and had to cheat to get the demons not listed in the sheet to be possessed.
It just occurred to me that the spirits are technically returning enemies (in appearance as it’s the summoner model from Doom 2016) and they make you play more like 2016 with micro missiles and lock on rockets.
I'm really not a fan of the spirits, they seemed to take one great step with marauders(in terms of enemy design) then an equal step back with the spirit. Just turns the enemies into bullet sponges which is just not very fun slows down the game so much having to deal with this one fast as fuck and tanky as fuck enemy. That being said I'd like to hear another point of view so if you do enjoy spirits I'm listening :)
I'm not a fan of the level of damage resistance they get, but I do like how they make you have to prioritize fighting (or more accurately, not dying long enough to clear out the other enemies first) them, which is already a core part of the gameplay
@@jinxed7915 Yeah I dont think they're that bad after replaying their encounters a few times they add another peice to the puzzle and I appreciate it. Don’t no one from ID see this comment but you would figure the Rocket would do little less damage against a Possessed Hell Knight considering a Lock On Burst is our collective strategy for them.
I can see why people(myself included)thought possessed demons got a damage buff, for a lot of enemies just making their movement and attack speed faster feels like they're hitting you way harder. It becomes nigh impossible to to dodge ultra fast projectiles from the Mancubus, Arachnotron and Pain Elementals, and chase-you-down enemies like Hell Knights, Dread Knights and Barons feel like they've just become insanely aggro and now hit like a truck. It's more psychological than anything else, similar to how during the absolutely god awful Maligog fight, getting hit with their slow down projectiles makes you feel like you've had all your stats debuffed. Enemies being quicker feels bad, you being slower feels worse.

@@novaseer Yeah, you can cheese the spirit buffed Arachnotron in the fog by turning on empowered demons.
Its weird coming back and realizing no archvile is here though they do exist
Spirit + archvile or marauder
Doomguy = I never asked for this...
_Just make us fight a possessed Marauder duo in a pool of purple slime already_
*DO IT, ID, YOU COWARDS!*
this entire dlc just upgraded my use of the lock on.
From what I have seen, the Doom Hunter's sled actually can be destroyed when they are possessed. It does not work like an aracnotron turret. So attacking their sled is still a viable way to get them to critical damage
Great to know all this, I’m getting the dlc soon! Wish me heccing luck
good luck my guy your gonna need it :)
@@noahboatsalot Its not that hard, only on Nightmare
@@TheWehzy yea you might be right I just got the main game and it seemed pretty challenging on normal difficulty and I had heard that DLC was even harder.
It might be that I'm just still a newb right now
@decino hey my first heart from a RUclipsr :)
@@noahboatsalot you'll get better very fast if you increase the difficulty.
Eternal truly is a marvel in that regard, my first campaign run I died a lot in the first levels even though I had beaten 2016 in UN, now I beat the DLC in Ultra Nightmare twice in the span of 24 hours (a friend was saying how much better than me he was so I had to show him lol).
If you want to get better I recommend playing the DLC at a difficulty you'll find hard, but not impossible, from the first level.
The main campaign can be used the same way but the beginning is quite slow while in the dlc you start un the midst of action.
Good luck!
Really appreciate these figures man - closest thing I've done to math in years !
But yes, thanks for pulling these stats and presenting them with style - I'm still trying to put down the possessed Baron in the Blood Swamp, but I will take challenge, most games are too easy and it feels perversely great to get smacked around by iD.
Cheers man 👍🍻
so basically ignore possessed fodder demons, use lock-on rockets for possessed heavy demons and pray to the father for forgiveness for a possessed super-heavy demon
They will chase ya ass like a marauder, just less scary
Possessed Marauder is here in last Slayer's Gate's update along with usual Marauder spawning next to first. I don't even mention 3 Archviles, 3 Blood Maykrs, 2 Doom Hunters and freaking ton of supporters before Marauder's part. I was really unfortunate and missed an opportunity to kill Spirit and it possessed second Marauder lol... I've managed to beat that on Nightmare on maybe 50th attempt lol...
@@decino ah! Slider settings make a lot of sense, thank you!
Don't they have stats for what demons are killed and by what? Maybe it's largely based on what people most often use to kill them?
The possessed Marauder stats have become very relevant with the latest update to the Holt Slayergate
Omg? Who could have this mad idea to play around damage multiplyers and speed, instead of let's say, spirited demons are 66.6% faster and take that much less damage, job done.
Is there a file for buff totems and archviles? :D
for anyone stuck on these buggers, the microwave beam is also very effective against them while they have the spirit buff. it stops them from rushing you down. just save some ammo for when the spirit pops out
Guys decino stopped hearting my comments because I told someone that he hearts them all.
Oh really?
@@decino OH MY GOD YOU REPLIED, IM SO HAPPY!!! Also happy Halloween!
Decino is one of the few subscribers of mine that always heart my comments.
Lol
Based decino, recognizing that the spirit's buff is a DR and not an HP increase. That said, I'm pretty sure the DR is what's responsible for providing their resistance to weapon staggering (i.e quickswitching weapons), since i've heard that really fast weapon switching burst damage is capable of faltering possessed demons. Obviously they have special immunities for concussive blasts like from M. Beam, grenade, Remote Detonate, etc.
these guys are the reason i won't complete UN
I didn't have the laser beam upgrade for the plasma rifle and didn't realize it was suppose to be there until the final boss, had to watch the rest on youtube because its impossible to kill the final boss without it.
You should have all mods from the start of the DLC
I thought it just transfered what you had from the main campaign, I was missing a few things.
@@JackJonValois Everything should be unlocked, suit, crystals and weapons including mastery. It must be a bug. Also I didn't realise you could get to the end of the game without killing spirits.

Dang they changed the last rune trial and added the possessed marauder there
The spirit: why won’t you die?!
Decino: because underneath this pumpkin helmet there’s more than just flesh and bones beneath this pumpkin are ideas.... and ideas are bulletproof.
I just realized that the spirit is just the summoner from 2016. im so stupid
Got pointed to this video by a person on the Modern Doom Speedrunning discord.
Another member, bowsr, and I took a look at the game's files and tested ingame with cheats. We have a spreadsheet you can look at.
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yFRKpC6xABx1HTOd9zDG6a2DGQzpPjS9tVjRvcLCbc0
Make sure to read the instructions and notes in the document linked in the top left.
So helpful, underrated video
You think in the next DLC we'll actually get a new enemy or just another sentient buff totem or flying Marauder?
It just occurred to me that the spirits are technically returning enemies (in appearance as it’s the summoner model from Doom 2016) and they make you play more like 2016 with micro missiles and lock on rockets.
I stand corrected, I'm about to get my ass kicked in this DLC. Especially in UV, and I haven't played the game for months now.
*bye bye Extra Lives*
Cus u rly need them, that's why there are rare double extra lives
Fuck. The. Marauder
You literally only hear
TING HARGH HARGH HARGH AWWOOOO TING
Ay thanks for the heart, you may be stealing mine 😏😏
I think the resistances make them a little too apungy but then again thats the point so eh. Plus they make you use more of your arsenal then just the ssg and balista which Im ngl I used a lot so varying things up and spicing up what weapons/mods I used was nice
guess what now, possessed marauder exist in holt slayer gate
The Spirit is Star Platinum
Some ghosty thing - yes
Empowers the user - yes
Can prevent bullet damage - yes
Speed (in case of Spirit, speed boost) - yes
Blue - yes.

Oh, damn! Thanks for telling me, dude. Now if only I had a car...
no problem
I was glad to see the summoner return in some form, its design was way to cool to be left behind.
You’re awesome man just completed UN with help from you haha. Thanks as always!
Possessed marauder is now part of the DLC,they change the 3rd slayer gate (with no mention of it on the patch note) and now the 3 rd wave is composed of a possessed marauder 3 carcass and an hord of imp who keep respawning. Oh and as soon the marauder is stagger another marauder spawn so the ghost can possessed him. This big boy is a force to be reckon with clearly no joking and the fight can even drag a bit too long assuming the layout of the arena isn't marauder friendly.
Oh Boi, if you begin to put those awesome yellow thumbnail to doom eternal, I'm gonna... I don't know but..... I... Damn, I lost my words!!! Thank you for bringing so much great content!
I experienced a processed marauder in the Holt slayer gate, absolute madness.
"Stupid sexy spirit" Well between smacking cyberdemon titanium glutes, watching gnaars if they can twerk I'd say that one is least weird.
I am not judging
Possessed Marauder actually *does* show up in the DLC now with the recent patch that added the Super Gore Nest Master Level - in The Holt's Slayer Gate.
Hey decino. A long time ago there was a custom monster called saiyan vile goku. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore. It could do all of goku's moves including the spirit bomb. Seeing your thumbnail reminded me of that. Great video as always!
came here from FooSarr's video. Got yourself a new sub, great content :)
Possessed spirit
Lock-on rockets seem to deal 75-80% less damage versus possessed Dreads too.
Maybe the one buffed by Samur as it has completely different resistances than regular spirit buffs.
@@decino Yeah, I was going off of the Samur ones because those are the only possessed dreads in regular play.
Brilliant as always. Fine work Slayer. Indeed.
How to ghostbust more efficiently by Decino :)
Hey this info sure sounds useful for people making their own levels for this game!
Oh... oh wait.
2:45 You would think having that thing exposed would be a death sentence when the mancubus gets shot in the chest.
Summoner-possessed Marauder....
Wasn't fighting him enhanced by that Buff Totem in the Blood Swamps bad enough? 😭
Ancient gods part 2 will probably be like "double spirit Marauder go brrrr"
the thumbnail alone made my whole day, thanks!
There is probrably a lots of things to analyze in DOOM eternal. Keep em coming.
I never thought I’d get passed that spirit buffed cyberdemon that thing was a big pain
And thus the goalposts have been moved. Forget two Marauders, who's ready for two Posessed Marauders?
It would be a nice challenge to be in an arena of exclusively prowlers + a couple of spirit prowlers (just like pinky arena and shield dude arena in the last level). No way you could stand still and use the meme beam to kill the spirits. Even regular prowlers dish out insane dps if you let them come close and attack freely.
