- the Bucket talks about the classic Smith and Wesson 5906. This is a double stack DA/SA firearm with safety decocker. It shoots from a 15rd detachable box magazine. It is the 3rd gen of the classic 59 series. He talks about the history and his shooting impressions of this great old Cop gun. He also demonstrates how to disassemble for maintenance and cleaning

Very nice third gen Smith, always enjoy these semi automatics. And the all steel soak up the recoil. Nice find , especially with extra magazines. The levers during reassembly messed me up the first-time I striped my 469
Thank you! Just the right amount of weight. When you figure out the reassemblly it is not bad, just have to practice a little. Thanks for your continued support. All the comments are really appreciated!
Thank goodness they got the problems worked out for the 5906
Thanks for supporting the channel!
i consider 3rd smiths to be the epitome of American combat pistol manufacturing.
They are such a great firearm. Each Gen is an improvement over the last. Thanks for supporting the channel nel.
S&W should make these again!
I know they should! They are just great all around guns.
After being issued one, I just loved it!!!
The only problem was the ratio of the weight to the caliber.
I always thought the 5903 was better as a duty and off-duty gun.
Bring back the 5903!!!!!
@darrelldunlap7249 the 5903 would be a great gun for them to re-release!
Great gun as I love em....Good stuff....
It is such a good gun, and so glad I got a chance to run it amd bring it to the channel. Thanks forbyour continued support!

They are great guns. Thanks for supporting the channel.
Very nice. Picked one up several years ago.
They were so affordable a few years ago. They have gone up in cost so much the past few years. Thanks for supporting the channel!
I’ve had dozens of 3rd Gen guns. Probably 15 5906/915 variants. I still have a 5906, which I use as a house gun, a 4566, and several DAO versions. Love them all. I love the magazine disconnect and consider it to be a major advantage. I have no fantasies of doing tactical reloads in the middle of a gun fight and needing that one round in the two seconds it takes to switch mags.
Sounds like you have a good way to think about the magazine disconect safety. Thanks for supporting the channel!
I remember during the 90's a lot of Sheriff departments in Maryland used this pistol.
These were very popular cop guns, and for good reason! Maryland made a good choice. Thanks for supporting the chamnel
This was my first 9mm. Loved it but my uncle was an Illinois State Trooper and he talked me into selling it to him😢. Thanks for sharing
It is such a good gun! I have had a couple guns ai am sad because I tradedor sold to family. The only comfort is knowing I made a loved one happy.
Thanks for supporting the channel
Back several years ago my local gun store had a few of these refurbished police trade ins . I couldn't make up my mind about what I wanted...another missed opportunity.
I have had a few different times just like yours. So sad for sure! Thanks for supporting the channel
I remember many years ago that the model 39 and 59 SW where a couple of the worst guns SW ever made
