I did this pie about 6 months ago and it was OUTSTANDING!!! About 3 months ago I decided to make it again except I modified it slightly and called it a citrus pie. Everything was the same as the original except only 3 cups 10x sugar but I added the zest and juice of 2 limes and 1 orange. There is still a lemon flavor but with the addition of lime and orange, it gives it a different taste but still OUTSTANDING. BUT, when I just want to make a lemon pie, NO CHANGES to the recipe. It is one of my GO TO pies if I want to WOW the picnic guests.

The limes are minimal but care needs to be with the orange. I'd say that whatever the quantity of juice is with the lemon and lime, to NOT let it double with the orange. A large orange can easily triple the amount of juice and that can throw all the ratios off. I almost lost the latest creation because the orange I used was HUGE. I added to all the other ingredients to try and compensate. Ended up making another smaller pie because of it. There were enough people at the gathering that it was ALL eaten up, so all was good.

Charlie this is by far my favorite ever vlog on making a lemon pie. I had to save it on all three of my computer devices so that I can make it next weekend for my sisters birthday. I’m just going to make sure I don’t lose it in the cyber mix!!! She is not a birthday cake, fondant-flowery person, but I know she is going to love this lemon pie (as her favorite pie is lemon meringue and she scrapes the off the meringue.
