@@hotwaterisspicy you can always put the lime in the coconut. It's not just a song;coconut milk or coconut cream with some lime and a little sugar (or brown sugar) is an excellent flavor (with or without rum).

Just slowly pour the hot water until it mixes the dry ingredients into a fudge mixture. Flatten the fudge in your bowl. You'll need a metal spoon because the mixture becomes very thick. Leave to cool until the fudge is hardened and you have perfect no fridge necessary fudge. Best on a cold night.
One of our favorite recipes! I've also added one egg yolk and baked it for just a few minutes at 350 (like 8-10 minutes) and it is a beautiful golden yellow color and sets up quite solid when chilled. Wow - as soon as I saw the title I had so many memories! My gramma used to make this. It was great for potlucks & for relatives that just show up at your door for the weekend. I remember getting all fancy with the recipe when I was about 12-13. I'd make a batch of lemon jello, cut it into chunks, and then layer graham cracker crumbs, filling, & jello. Very fancy parfait. Classy. (why yes, that was in the 70's. How ever did you guess??) Thanks for the reminder. I bet I have all the ingredients on hand...
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this! I have two cans of condensed milk that that been sitting in my cupboard. I also have a jug of lemon juice that also is randomly just been sitting in there. And in happen to have one box of graham crackers that I found at the back of my cupboard LOL so I will be making this! I love that you are doing videos trying to use up things in your pantry! Because those are the exact videos I am so looking for right now. I don’t wanna have to go to the grocery store. I am immune compromised. And I haven’t been able to get a grocery pick up time because they’ve all been taken LOL so this will be an awesome dessert this coming weekend when I make my husband supper. He unfortunately is still working six days a week during all of this. So thank you Emmy! I So very much appreciate that you are still doing videos. it keeps things normal... for me at least, during these not so normal times. Lots of love from northern Minnesota ♥️
Charity Saxum I feel the same about videos where I can use pantry staples. I wish you all the best in staying healthy. I have an older mom and though we don't live together I've stayed out of the stores for her. I know I'll have to go at some point but I'm putting it off as long as I can. Take care.
Emmy, this recipe reminded me of a chinese pudding recipe. It's just ginger juice and warm milk, and sugar to taste. Here is a link of the recipe from a youtuber called Pailin. ruclips.net/video/CyUJifm4H_w/видео.html
I love Pailin . She and Emmy are alot alike in personality. Pailin had her son on the other day. I can't believe he is 1. He has the most hair if any baby I've seen!
Who else used to eat sweetened condensed milk by the spoonful as a kid. Yum!!!🤤😋 I bet this would be awesome in some puff pastry or FILO dough shells! Extra dressed up!
This reminds me of the Mexican lime pie "carlota de limon" It's a little bit more involved because instead of a crust, Maria cookies are layered throughout. It's pretty fun to make and so good! :9
*Mum used to make a pie* with: 1 bar cream cheese, 1 tin condensed milk, 1 large lemon, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 pre-made shell (in the video). We loved it growing up. The final result was exactly the same, but I'm certain the flavour is different/better. Mind you, if your family eat this regularly, you'll become an American.
With a Graham cracker crust mix 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 2 8oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1tsp of vanilla. Place in the fridge for an hour. No bake cheesecake that your family will love. ❤️ My mom always made this growing up. You can add Oreo's for Oreo cheesecakes. ❤️
Thanks Emmy! You bought back great early childhood memories of me learning how to cook with my family as a little kid. One of my childhood favorites! Peanut butter pie is another 3 ingredient favorite, except you use a chocolate graham cracker or cookie crust. Peanut butter and cool whip are the other two ingredients. Mix peanut butter and cool whip and put it in the crust to chill. So yummy. You can make it as peanut buttery as you want. I use the entire container. Awww. Early childhood cooking memories. ❤️
OMG - the the flavors you could make with this are endless! Like the blue one, razzleberry or something, would be SOOO good!! Lol, thank God I have no Koolaid or I might to get up & make one...
My favorite pie ever! Lots of sweet memories of my dad making this pie. He would make the crust and I would help press it into a pie plate. Then he'd stir the sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice together while I licked out the milk can. Sometimes we couldn't wait until the pie was set to eat ... it would be a little runny but still just as delicious! I know it's an old fashioned recipe, but until a couple years ago it felt like NO ONE had ever heard of this recipe but it's the only lemon pie recipe I know.
Lime would work really well, orange would probs be a better flavor, but I wonder if you'd have to do a combo of orange and lemon juice for their to be enough acid? Good idea to experiment though!
Been watching emmy for quite some time. I had gotten the flavor from context, but thank you for spelling out that word so I could finally look it up and learn what it means! :)
My Grandma made this pie for holidays. When I was a teen. I loved it glad I found this recipe. It brings back memories. I’m going to try making a few for Thanksgivings or Christmas this year.
I grew up eating this my dad's mom made it for him then he made it for us I loved it so much growing up. There is a fourth ingredient usually which is whipped topping. We like using that to thicken it up and make more.
My mom used to make this all the time when I was a kid, I think she used lemonaide concentrate in the can, and added that to sweetened condensed milk. And topped with cool whip! Loved watching this video. Just looking for a fun, easy treat for thanksgiving dessert this year.
@@MaxOakland Vinegar is basically acids pulled from fruits into water over a period of days or weeks of soaking and the water becomes tangy and sour and it also ferments like alcohol. Vinegar can be bought in bottles cheaply. Wine is made the same way.
My family makes “cherry cheese pie” for holidays and stuff and it’s pretty similar to this. Cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and vanilla. When it’s set a lot of people like to put cherry pie filling on top.
This reminds me of the icebox cake my mom used to make when I was a kid. It was chocolate pudding layered with graham crackers. You put it in the fridge and the graham crackers get soft and absorb some of the pudding. It was soooooo good and so easy.
Kinda wishing someone on masterchef be a master of these hardtimes recipes. Let the guy blew all the judges mind with these magic and serve them up some humble pie. Not gonna lie, that would be amazing
This is very tasty. Another quick one is Frozen Citrus Pie. 6 0z. can of favorite frozen concentrate, pint vanilla ice cream (softened), small tub Cool Whip (softened). Blend ingredients with mixer and pour into graham cracker pie crust. Freeze. Simple as that. Made grape pie once. Sounds gross but good. Lime is my favorite, followed by using frozen pina colada mix.

@@apollo9661 I really recommend it ! It's a can of sweetened condensed milk, one packet of cream cheese, lemon juice (i never remember how much so i go by taste)

I miss putting the whole can of sweetened condensed milk in a pressure cooker for about an hour which caramelizes it, then putting it on crackers. So good. Unfortunately I don't have a pressure cooker any more.
I've heard you can do the same in a regular pot of simmering water, just have to make sure the water always covers the can by at least an inch. I'd be wary to try it though, you don't want an exploding can of hot molten dulce de leche all over your skin, or the kitchen for that matter
@@Nirrrina instant pot would work, just be careful, don't want to have a hot can of dulce de leche explode on you I'd think the instant pot version would be safer actually, the pressure inside would help keep the can from exploding, and even if it did, the walls of the instant pot would act as a barrier to keep it inside
Lots of people in S. America make it in a pot of boiling (then simmering) water no problem - like u said, just make sure the top of can is covered by water - and it does take a few hours, but comes out the same.
@@jamesfromacct I was thinking it might be safer too. But I'd look to see how someone else did it first anyway & maybe put it in the backyard too. Just in case.

I have made the eagle brand lemon pie many, many times over the years. I put it into a graham cracker crust. I put one egg in it and just baked it about 10 minutes. This ensured it would set. Delicious.
"I think it would be really fun to do with kids. I think they would feel very satisfied and accomplished making a dessert like this." I feel called out and attacked by this statement. I'm in this statement and I don't like it. 🤣
I do this in small jars and layer the filling with graham crackers then add a little layer of whipped topping to make small parfaits for my grandkids. It helps with portion control as well.
I make a similar pie! I use one can of sweeten condensed milk, a container of cool-whip, and half a packet of lemonade kool-aid. It makes two pies and it does give you a thick fluffy texture. One of my favorite go-to’s!!!

💛Love this! You can also freeze this into the most amazing "pudding pops"🤤 blend in some strawberries too! Yum!
Dancing lemon slice! 🍋
If Souped Up Recipes can do Chinese Ginger Milk Pudding, then I INSIST that Emmy makes it too! Emmy, do your thing.
I made this pie yesterday with a homemade buttery graham cracker crust, it’s delicious!
Who else used to eat sweetened condensed milk by the spoonful as a kid. Yum!!!🤤😋 I bet this would be awesome in some puff pastry or FILO dough shells! Extra dressed up!
As a kid?!?!
pjtfd LOL...Or an adult. 🤣
This reminds me of the Mexican lime pie "carlota de limon" It's a little bit more involved because instead of a crust, Maria cookies are layered throughout. It's pretty fun to make and so good! :9
“puddingny”
- Emmy, 2020
😂
I caught it too 😂
*Mum used to make a pie* with: 1 bar cream cheese, 1 tin condensed milk, 1 large lemon, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 pre-made shell (in the video). We loved it growing up. The final result was exactly the same, but I'm certain the flavour is different/better. Mind you, if your family eat this regularly, you'll become an American.
Me, an American: So...eating this pie would be patriotic?
Apocalyps is a Brit. The words Mum & tin are the giveaway. An American would say Mom & can.
Yep, and a big fat American.
This is almost the same as koolaid pie! One can of condensed milk, one tub of whipped cream and one packet of koolaid. 10/10
My family makes koolaid pie too! Our favorite is lime. Love it!
OMG - the the flavors you could make with this are endless! Like the blue one, razzleberry or something, would be SOOO good!! Lol, thank God I have no Koolaid or I might to get up & make one...
Rai Baby
One *tub* of whipped cream? Are you talking about kool whip?
Max Oakland yea!
Rai Baby Really it must be good
My favorite pie ever!
"Dancing lemon slice!🍋"
Your personality is as delightful as the pie! 😍😘🤗
AWW....brings back memories of my gram❤ After freezee she would top with real whip cream. This pie is so delicious!
My grandmother used to make this every Thanksgiving Xmas and Easter growing up. I love it so much
Love ya emmy
Keep in us entertained through quarantine❤️
Emmy I have been eating this pie every since I were a child and I'm 46 now. Yes 46 years it is my favorite. So happy to see you make it.
This makes a really nice lime pie as well. Probably would work with orange too.
Lime would work really well, orange would probs be a better flavor, but I wonder if you'd have to do a combo of orange and lemon juice for their to be enough acid? Good idea to experiment though!
I did think about how nice lime would be, but I didn't think of orange. Sounds yummy any of the ways!
@@jamesfromacct Yes, there needs to be enough acid for it to work. orange does sound lovely, though.
JamesFromAccounting James I was thinking the same.
I tried with orange juice and the flavor was very faint. And you have to eat everything on the same day, as the orange juice starts to become bitter.
My grandma made this for every thanksgiving and Christmas, it was one of favorites around the holidays since I love lemon flavored stuff
If I accidentally miss saying, "Itadakimasu' with Emmy, I HAVE to hit rewind so I can say it with her.
Emmy makes me so happy, her positivity and bubbly personality is feeding my soul during this quarantine
My mother made this frequently in the 60s. She’d always freeze it.
I love when she gets excited I imagine a kid version of her getting excited 😊
I grew up eating this my dad's mom made it for him then he made it for us I loved it so much growing up. There is a fourth ingredient usually which is whipped topping. We like using that to thicken it up and make more.
I know right now probably isn’t an ideal time, but I’d love to see a video about how you grocery shop 🤷🏼♀️
My mom used to make this all the time when I was a kid, I think she used lemonaide concentrate in the can, and added that to sweetened condensed milk. And topped with cool whip! Loved watching this video. Just looking for a fun, easy treat for thanksgiving dessert this year.
In a pinch I make "buttermilk" with milk and lemon juice or in an even tighter pinch, milk and vinegar.
Done that as well when out of buttermilk. Nice mention. Learned that from my mother.
Anon Emus
What’s vinegar?
@@MaxOakland Vinegar is basically acids pulled from fruits into water over a period of days or weeks of soaking and the water becomes tangy and sour and it also ferments like alcohol. Vinegar can be bought in bottles cheaply. Wine is made the same way.
Emmy speaks clearly to understand I will try this in the near future
My family makes “cherry cheese pie” for holidays and stuff and it’s pretty similar to this. Cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and vanilla. When it’s set a lot of people like to put cherry pie filling on top.
My mom made this growing. My dad would eat the whole thing in bed binge watching movies
My mom does a recipe similar to this, but she adds cream cheese. So it's a lemon cheese pie with a blueberry garniture :) It's my favourite dessert and i ask for it every year for my birthday
My mom adds cream cheese too
I'm gonna try that!
@@apollo9661 I really recommend it ! It's a can of sweetened condensed milk, one packet of cream cheese, lemon juice (i never remember how much so i go by taste)
i made this today and i loved it very much!!! thank you for introducing me to it, funny how i never thought of mixing those two lmao thankfully we have both the ingredients available! again, thank you for introducing me to this recipe ❤❤
I need to add this to my Quarantine Baking list as soon as they let us go back to the store
I just made this! My grandfather used to make this. He would whip egg whites to put merengue on the top of it. Love it!
I wonder if an instant pot would work?
Might even be quicker. But I'd check to see if anyone has done it before for safety reasons.
@@Nirrrina instant pot would work, just be careful, don't want to have a hot can of dulce de leche explode on you
I'd think the instant pot version would be safer actually, the pressure inside would help keep the can from exploding, and even if it did, the walls of the instant pot would act as a barrier to keep it inside
This recipe is life! Everyone should try it! I have been eating this my entire life! And there is no other pie that can compare!!
First, your filling recipe is what we used to do in the Boy Scouts as a dessert! I still make this on occasion to this day.
Second... I'm low-key jealous of the fact that you've two kitchens.
I think she is adding her new kitchen and phasing out the old one...😉
I got loads of fresh grapefruits, so I'm going to try this with them! Thank you, Emmy, for giving the juice amount in measuring cups instead of number of lemons!
i'm venturing to the grocery store tomorrow, definitely buying ingredients for this pie! small comforts are important
Emmy please don’t ever permanently leave your real kitchen. It’s too charming and I love the little notes.
Ok ok ok I had all this in my kitchen so I was like “I need something like to emotional eat all day tomorrow Soooooooo 😅I just made this. Added zest of lime. Made a crust/crumble top out ofGolden Grams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch with butter and brown sugar, baked it until it was crispy/soft crumbley. Easiest thing ever gonna do this with Key-Lime. 🍋🍈🐷🐷🐷
My hubby grew up on ice box pie. And he makes it every year for Christmas and thanksgiving in our house. Every one loves it. The only difference between hers and his he adds eggs. The lemon juice cooks it.
THANK YOU for frequently posting!! Maybe it’s my imagination or the lack of space time continuum due to pandemic, but every time I turn around you’re here entertaining and educating Emmy and I could just hug you!! ☀️
xoxoxoxo!!!
Always love your bright smile Emmy! TY for caring for others while you yourself are so isolated
that one dislike on the first 5 mins of this vid being uploaded must be allergic to lemons smh 😕
Daily Dose of ATEEZ I often wonder who the monsters are who could give these delightful videos a thumbs down.
😆 Either that, or they're just a miserable hater.
They have a limp lemon
Or diabetic :-/
@@roge7113 A very limp lemon :'v
Will any I just wanted to tell you that I tried making this lemon pie and it turned out scrumpdiliumptious. Thank you so much for the recipe. Anybody could make this pie. You can't even make a mistake. Great pie
I have a similar one, just substitute one of the cans of condensed milk with a cream cheese package, dump that in the blender, and thank me later
Oh... and we add some cherry filling on top, but that's just us
Do you still add the lemon juice in the same amount?
@@stillstormie7222 yup
I would put whipped cream on top!!
Yes! My grandma made it this way with cream cheese and put cherry filling on top, called it “Cheesefake” instead of cheesecake
@@saltinawenchito3927 hello lost cousin!!
I have made the eagle brand lemon pie many, many times over the years. I put it into a graham cracker crust. I put one egg in it and just baked it about 10 minutes. This ensured it would set. Delicious.
"I think it would be really fun to do with kids. I think they would feel very satisfied and accomplished making a dessert like this."
I feel called out and attacked by this statement. I'm in this statement and I don't like it. 🤣
I do this in small jars and layer the filling with graham crackers then add a little layer of whipped topping to make small parfaits for my grandkids. It helps with portion control as well.
That looks amazing! I was wondering how it would work, I thought the lemon juice would thin it out.
Right?! It totally counter-intuitive.
wow, amazing! we make this every year in my family!!! we do make whipped egg whites and sugar and bake that till light brown then we refrigerate!!!!
Me: 😔
Emmy: *hello my beautiful lovelies*
Me: 🥰☺️
I make a similar pie! I use one can of sweeten condensed milk, a container of cool-whip, and half a packet of lemonade kool-aid. It makes two pies and it does give you a thick fluffy texture. One of my favorite go-to’s!!!
