This movie went far beyond my expectations. Dude the cast is incredible.. so many great actors/actresses. Wes Anderson has a way of attracting all of the absolute dopest actors onto his sets haha
I mean there are multiple Oscar nominees like Bill Murray, Owen Wilson with 1 each Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law with 2 each Edward Norton with 3 Willem Dafoe with 4 Adrien Brody and Tilda Swinton winning one each.....
I'm a Wilson Boys fan, no doubt but this is for the higher elevation of humor. Sounds like you are one of us amen!!! Every casting was on point, and, you can tell they all had a blast, so awesome!
"Did he just throw my cat out the window?" "No!" "I don't think so...." LMAO! The shot of him looking out and the cat splayed out, XD!!!! But the yowl as the cat is thrown trailing away kills me every time.
After seeing Isle of Dogs and then the Roald Dahl short film on Netflix, and then this clip, I've decided that I've been entirely sleeping on Wes Anderson and it's time I rectified this oversight.
Complicated physics. Cats have a survivable terminal velocity (meaning once they get to a certain speed when falling they won't go above that speed thanks to a combination of gravity, wind resistance & several other factors) but if they land before they get there they're likely to die like any of us. Throw a cat out of plane? they're likely hurt but alive. Throw one out a 5-story building? not so much.
I enjoyed this clip up until the cat being thrown out the window. I'm a cat lover, and usually I can write it off as "the cat's fine, it's a movie," but then they show the body. I know it's not real, but it just ruined it for me. Just, how is killing an innocent creature for no reason a punchline? EDIT: Just for clarification, I know the body is just like a puppet or something, it's just that it's so far away and with that tiny pool of blood by the head, it hits home.

The Grand Budapest Hotel contained that most elusive of mythical creatures, the deeply brave and principled lawyer.
And let's see where that gets him... oh.
Kind of like Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird."
“Did he just throw my cat out the window”
I fell over laughing from how little I expected that to happen and Jeff’s reaction.
I don't think so...
And said it so casually...🤣
Okay what was the exact point of having his cat thrown out the window?
Also cats are SUPPOSED to land on their feet, NOT their torsos!
just watched his death scene before this, poor guy
My favorite scene....so unexpected, and ruthless....I had to rewatch that scene like 10x 🤣
Everyone talks about the "cat out the window" line, but the sisters' complete obliviousness in response is what sent me.

“I don’t think so.” LOL
Did he?
"I represent the deceased"
Hits differently on the second viewing

It's no point if they break in the process.
Realistically, a cat could survive that fall.

It’s unacceptable that I’m hearing about this movie just now

Check it out if ya haven't already. My favorite movie by far

ironic jopling had the same fate later in the movie.
Why is this cropped? This honestly defeats the purpose of the 4:3 aspect ratio in the film.
What happened to sensitive and calm Adrian Brody .even his hair look different
All you had to do was "wrap it up and don't make waves" Vilmos 🤣

Did they do something to his cat because he refused to violate the laws? If not please dont trigger me.
Wes Anderson always kills the animals in his films for comedic effect for some reason
willem dafoe (the guy holding the cat is actually a vegan)
