Easily the best Marvel finale and honestly now one of the best character arcs in the entire MCU. So powerful and such a perfect purpose for Loki. "For you, for all of us" - the same line he said at the end of the first Thor movie, but now in a much more important context.
For sure. I was getting frustrated about halfway through the series bc I was like is this the plot? Just a broken loom but it was well worth it to get that character arc
Way back in the first Thor movie, Odin said to Thor and Loki when they were children: "Only one of you can ascend to the throne of Asgard. But both of you are to be kings" Thor was a short lived king of Asgard, and now Loki is essentially the king of the Multiverse, the God of Stories
He isn't just there forever, he always has been! he's why the time stone is green 💚 we never saw this Loki in the 616, he wasn't there he only exists outside of time
Loki’s whole MCU arc is immaculate and it’s crazy how writers made it come full circle with him wanting the throne at his first ever appearance, and he really ended up on the throne, but not exactly kind of throne he wanted in the first place
Whats amazing is that he becomes Yggdrasil, Thee World Tree Thor explains to Jane in the first Thor movie, that binds the universe together, and what The Red Skull explains in the first Captain America when he gets the Tesseract.
This episode is genuinely on level with some of the best Daredevil episodes. It's so well written and performed. And a sad thing about Loki is that no one except him knows about the centuries of time slipping he did to try and save everyone beforehand. That have no idea what he went through.
The tree is a reference and represented as tree of life or Yggdrasil in Norse mythology. Also, he always wanted a throne, so he got a throne at end of time but at a cost of love and friendship. This was his glorious purpose.
This is his true Glorious Purpose. He was always searching for this thing by trying to rule the people by chaos or violence. But now he learned what to do with his powers. The only option to have a free will is to have the ruler of the time provided by the God of Mischief. :)
Loki at the end had the destiny he wanted "Burdened with Glorious Purpose" he now understand that this glorious prupose of taking over manteining the life of the timelines and branches is really a burden, a god burdened to breath life to the worlds of all beings in the universe, on his hands is the life of every universe of the sacred timeline and he holds dearly of every branch, a king to serve everyone from his trone
Lots of marvel shows, even the great ones, have fallen a bit flat with the finale. This one, however, is absolutely perfect. They nailed the ending for my personal favourite mcu character!
Loki is the only MCU character that had 2 redemption arcs. If Tom Hiddleston is going to step away from Marvel then this was the absolute best (epic) ending for what is possibly it's best character.
The line loki says before he steps out into the radiation, is his own words he was asked to choose what he would say. Only he and the producers knew what he would say, his line comes from one of the thor movies where his dad is trying to help him and thor back onto the bifrost and loki says I could have been great for all of us and then let's go.
When they shown it was the tree from Norse mythology, I was so thrilled. This now also means Loki has become his other comic title... "God of stories". Perfect ending, horribly sad, but perfect. The way it ended also can work out either way if they decide to keep or remove Kang as the future big bad. If they decide to keep Kang, then it means Loki could maybe intervene in the big battles with all the Kangs I imagine. If they decide to not keep Kang, the ending could be taken as Loki now controls the timeslines and thus can just remove Kang as need be so there is no multi-versal war. Smart move by Marvel. To bad for now though the MCU is losing so much steam. Hopefully X-Men and Fantastic Four can revive it. If not, its been a fun ride.
The man who insisted he was born to rule, how he was destined to have a throne, finally learned there's better things in life than being a ruler. He found love, and no longer wanted his throne. He found friends, and when he lost them, all he wanted was to get them back. He found his Glorious Purpose.... and had to give up his love, and his friends, to protect them. Loki's redemption arc, ending with his throne as God of Stories, is beyond amazing :3
So there's two things floating about the internet now..... Loki is now the God of Stories, and someone asked "why are Infinity Stones being reborn into characters?" Loki is basically the Time Stone, and Wanda is basically the Reality Stone.... I don't know what that means, or even if it means anything.
Bruh u missed it when it said centuries later that wasn’t Loki learning different outcomes and trying new things it was him taking the centuries it would take to learn everything engineering physics and multiverse stuff. This is way more impressive so you understand how complicated physics is ? And Loki just becomes a genius in these categories. 11:26 also right here when Loki is with kang it’s not that he who remains never designed the loom to not accommodate any other timelines. It’s that “it’s a scaling problem” meaning it’s impossible to scale to infinity you would have to have something always there making sure the infinite timelines stay alive and they branch exponentially meaning one becomes two that becomes becomes four that becomes 16. Kang is protecting one sacred timeline because that’s all he knows how to do it’s inconceivable to be able to protect an infinite amount of timelines (for kang). As you see Loki becomes the new loom making it scale to infinity and impossible kang feat. It’s impossible to scale for infinity.
So, going back in time is inherently cheating, at least to mere humans like me. So how do you not Cheat Loki, don't try to change the past, change the future. From now.
@tahirahshabazz50 it's just my thoughts but ye you think why would a kid variant of loki be at the end of time but be in charge coz he killed thor I bet that's the mission mobius was talking about
This Loki is the best version ever, because he used the infinity stone and ended up in TVA, before all the actions with Thanos happened, his mother died and Azgard was destroyed. He saw the mistakes made by his future version, so he learned to value his loved ones. He spent centuries learning the technology of the Multiverse and became wiser. When he destroys the "weaver" and steps on the steps to the throne, centuries pass again and as Odin said that an Azgardian god becomes stronger with the passage of time, so Loki became much stronger and much wiser holding in his hands the entire life of the multiverse, and this is his glorious purpose.
I mean , I wish all Marvel could be this good , cos this was the most I’d felt watching anything they’ve done since … Endgame? Ya probably Endgame. It’s just a masterpiece, and a beautiful character arc for Loki! I NEED more like this , cos I’m starting to fall off the marvel train…
Yeah, I never give a perfect score but this episode was a solid 10 out of 10... but yeah, he can be replaced. He would need a super powerful being like Adam warlock or somebody to take his place temporarily.. that little girl from Thor love and thunder is a possibility to.. but I'm leaning more towards Adam warlock
Sad that all the noise in the public sphere was about the Marvels movie that came out around the same time as this show. It felt like this was largely ignored. This show was so good.
I.......dislike? , how they "explain" the STL. Why not just SAY, there IS a multiverse, and each Universe is not allowed to branch. The collection, of the un-branching Universes is the STL. I dunno, it just bothers me a little bit. Like Marvel is making it confusing on purpose for no other reason than to be confusing and annoying. lol
I don't get what u mean. The MCU only has a STL because of he who remains. He cut off the multiverse from 616. This was explained in the finale 2 years ago...
Does the girl not say anything, or do you just cut out anything she says? A bit of a stretch to call this a reaction when half of you is just a wooden plank.
I don't know if you know this, but Loki died when Thanos killed him. This was the 2012 Loki, so you hoping he'd meet Thor never made sense & was never going to happen. You asking about Loki's MCU future makes no sense, because he is & has been dead since Infinity War...why is that so hard for reactors to comprehend?
He's hoping they'd meet again bc Thor would see how much Loki grew and became a hero. OG Loki who died in infinity war didn't die a hero he traded his people for the prospect of power with the Tesseract. This Loki wouldve left the cube to die on asgard without hesitation.
@@madtitanthanos7898 Once Loki died in Infinity War, there was no way for Thor to meet a hero Loki...when hero Loki never existed because he was already dead. Again this wasn't & isn't a hard concept to get. Thor meeting 2012 version of Loki who had a redemption arch, wasn't ever going to happen, because it was impossible!!!
@TerrellMcDuffie ok and? This is a Variant and what Thors loki could've become. Which would be cathartic for Thor. Lmao ur such an idiot I don't see why ur dying in this battle

10/10 The God of Stories
10 all the way I'd give it 20 if I could, it's so good that every couple of months I rewatch it all over again

@@Knightowl1980I felt the same way, this season lost my about halfway through but the finish was fantastic.
despite all the trial and error the mcu has had during the multiverse saga im so happy they got this loki show right, it was glorious indeed
They need that same focus with the rest. Though I feel like the new Captain America has that focus. Can’t wait to see the movie.
Way back in the first Thor movie, Odin said to Thor and Loki when they were children:
"Only one of you can ascend to the throne of Asgard. But both of you are to be kings"
Thor was a short lived king of Asgard, and now Loki is essentially the king of the Multiverse, the God of Stories
Mobius did joke about Loki: King of Space being a nice feather in his cap. Now he's Loki: King of Space, Time, and Infinite Reality.
The reason the Time Stone is green
Hiddleston put the entire series on his back and carried this finale to an amazing, emotional conclusion for the character
"You are alone. And you always will be." Sif's words to Loki in S1 hits even harder now.
Be careful what you wish for. 🥴
The tipping point/breakthrough was seeing his mother and being still enough to feel all the emotions he didn’t let himself before
Not only he save the branches, he save the WHOLE MCU 🤣🤣🤣
Or tried too. Captain is going to do its thing. Butttt it’s self sabotage at its finest. Dc is also doing it. 🤷🏽♀️

Lokis tears at the end were real they had all been saying their goodbyes right before filming this last scene
there were tears?
@@putra2377 yes in the final scene he had just wiped them but you can still see his eye completely full of them
Loki saving the time-lines actually created the norse tree of life from mythology that you see at the end
Greatest thing to come out of marvel for some time!

Loki is the only MCU character that had 2 redemption arcs. If Tom Hiddleston is going to step away from Marvel then this was the absolute best (epic) ending for what is possibly it's best character.
I’d argue that Loki isn’t alone but connected to everyone on every timeline.
Alone in a crowd. Times a trillion.
The line loki says before he steps out into the radiation, is his own words he was asked to choose what he would say. Only he and the producers knew what he would say, his line comes from one of the thor movies where his dad is trying to help him and thor back onto the bifrost and loki says I could have been great for all of us and then let's go.

This was low-key the best Marvel show
High-key*

My boy finally got his throne. 😭😭😭😭😭
Loki single handedly carrying the MCU. That fact, this did better than the Marvels is this one of marvels wonders
Did better than the last Thor as well.
A tear from the keeper of stories is an after credit.

Sad this is over this was my favorite Marvel thing by far
Ten out of ten. Loki has become the God of Stories in Marvel lore.

Yup Loki can see, read or hear ANY IN MCU
One of the hardest intros in Marvel
"For all time. Always."
This is the best thing that happend to MCU after Endgame. Nothing compares.
Honorable mention, “No Way Home”.
Loki literally carrying the MCU
Loki: I've tried EVERYTHING. Me: Except not trying to cheat.
So, going back in time is inherently cheating, at least to mere humans like me. So how do you not Cheat Loki, don't try to change the past, change the future. From now.

Kinda cool how it explains why the time stone is green
Great finale but did you ever watch guardians of the galaxy 3? That’s prolly my favorite but Loki is very close.
They did
The loom exists to prune ALL OTHER TIMELINES, we knew this season 1.
Im bit sad we are never seeing Jonathan Majors as Kang anymore....
