Beautiful forest... I couldn't ride that trail in this lifetime. Scary scary scary... But I can watch someone else do it.. 😁You did great! And that bike is sweeeeeet!
Awesome video, congrats for beating that trail. I rode Fromme in Sep this year and chose my trails from watching your videos. Thanks and cheers from the Basque country!
Nice work! That's the first trail I ever rode in Vancouver, and I'll never forget that ride -- it was raining lightly and almost too foggy to see where I was going. What a magical experience. I cleared everything except that rock roll, which, as you said, is quite scary. I've gone back and ridden the trail several other times, and I can't remember if I ever cleared that rock roll. No camera really gives it justice. It's quite high, and the transition from skinny to rock is very abrupt. It's VERY easy to imagine yourself catching a pedal or chainring on the top of that rock and then taking a nosedive into the ground from 8 feet up...
great video , loved the 180' turn on the skiiny !!! got a day in north Vancouver at the start of my hols , if you only had a day on Froome what would you suggest I ride ??
Nice work! Have you given the second skinny section a try? (the optional line after that first one you took a second run at) I've still not managed to clean either...
4:40 is where the old guy from uncut media fell off to the left...he was lucky not to get impaled on that tree !! great vid he also measured the incline on your white whale and I think it 69 degs !
Hey VanCan, awesome videos man. Was wondering if I could pick your brain for a second. I am trying to decide between the Capra AL or Capra AL Comp. When you are climbing up the roads like the one at the beginning of the video to start the trails, is it easier with those lockout/pedal modes that come with the lyric RCT3 fork/SD RC3 shock(maybe you don't even use the settings idk). The Non Comp version does not have those settings and not sure if using those settings is going to make a huge difference or not. I don't want to hate myself on the uphills on some of these fire roads.
Thanks for the fast reply, yeah some people were telling me that they don't even bother with the settings and not to waste 500 dollars on the same fork and rear shock for just some added settings adjustments but idk lol. Even harder decision is 29 or 27.5 haha
Did you get some condensation on the inside of your lens cap? I ask because it happened to me last ride giving a similar effect. I had to twist it off and fix mid ride. Good work on the skinnies. I avoid them like the plague, never had an XTR derailleur before and want to keep it for a while, haha.
Ya I did. I didn't notice until I got to the bottom. It seems to happen with elevation change and colder conditions. Ha, I actually just snapped my XT derailleur off, back to the SLX.
I never noticed until the bottom of the best part of the trail, too far to go back up. It's not that noticeable on your video though. I only picked up on it because it just happened to me. Funny about the derailleur. Painful downgrade. I don't usually worry about breaking parts but when I heard the replacement cost.......
Great video. I really like the fire road hyperlapse. Was that video using your instamic or the hero 7 internal? I sounded really good, but not quite as crisp as the usual from the instamic so I assume the hero.
I was using the Instamic for this one. The video I"m posting on Wednesday is straight Hero 7 audio. The Hero 7 is pretty good, but I think I'm going to stick with the Instamic. The reason it sounds different is because I'm playing around with the EQ. I boosted the bass more for this video and cut off some of the high frequencies.
It doesn't look like fun to me. I can see how someone might enjoy it but I prefer speed and jumps instead of slow descent requiring a bit different set of skills. I hope you didn't ride it alone. Deserted trail and if you injure yourself might take a while to get help.
Keep up the great work man. Been watching your stuff since the beginning, you're definitely going places with your content. I see you doing vids with BKXC, Loam Ranger, BCPOV, Seth, etc in the future! And as always, nice riding 🤙
I've come back to this one a few times to watch you ride Big Smooth. Going to have to go take a look!
Man I freaking love your videos, feels like I found a hidden gem, you definitely deserve more subscribers!
Thanks!
One of the most insane techies I've ever seen
I love how the north shore you tubers are all are fans of each other
Man.. that trail and forest looking picture wonderful. Wow!!
It’s pretty awesome !
Nuff respect ✊ mate, it’s always an awesome feeling when you tackle something that’s been bothering you for a while.
It was pretty great!
Dude, great job! Those features on that trail scare a lot of people! Nice riding and edit.
Thanks!
Well done- much respect for you challenging yourself. Inspiring!
Thanks!
Beautiful forest... I couldn't ride that trail in this lifetime. Scary scary scary... But I can watch someone else do it.. 😁You did great! And that bike is sweeeeeet!
Just takes some practice!
Awesome video, congrats for beating that trail. I rode Fromme in Sep this year and chose my trails from watching your videos. Thanks and cheers from the Basque country!
Awesome!
Congrats! I think this trail is one of the toughest on Fromme. And I’m glad the trail fairies have left it true to the original. Cheers!
Ya it’s a tricky one for sure !
Nah definitely not the toughest.
These trails you're riding are so cool.... and you're killing it on them. Great Video.
Thanks!
Very good riding! Nice work on the uphill skinny and switchback skinny!
Thanks!
Nice work buddy! Those skinnies scare the shit outta me.. time to conquer those!

Thanks! Ya, the rock roll is pretty intimidating. A lot could go wrong there.
Amazing! Love your vids...you really capture the trail and I love the interesting features in them
Thanks!
nice dude! It's nice to finally clear features that you've avoided before!
It's pretty great!
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Haven’t risen for ages but that’s got me right in the mood thanks man!
Awesome!
Great balance! Well done.
Thanks!
These trails looks fun
They are!
Awesome riding and awesome trail. Wish there were some shots from from the ground of you hitting those features.
Next time!
I have the same helmet and color! Had to zip tie the adjustment for it not to go bobblehead on me
The quality of this video is amazing. Stout riding, nice job!
Thanks!
Holy shit my hands are sweaty from watching.. well done
These features are stressful!
awesome, was there in September, I couldn't get myself to take that step rock roll.
It's pretty intimidating, but easier than I was expecting.
Sick intro! Your videos always makes me so motivated to go out and ride! =D
Awesome!
What a sick ass trail. Looks like Endor!
The north shore was built by Ewoks
Nice riding mate!
Thanks!
great video , loved the 180' turn on the skiiny !!! got a day in north Vancouver at the start of my hols , if you only had a day on Froome what would you suggest I ride ??
I really like doing 7th secret to expresso to lower expresso. But ladies only and Pipeline are great if you want some real north shore experience.
VanCan cheers, I’ll get a couple of laps in on those :-)
Nicely done 👍
Thanks!
Nice work!
Have you given the second skinny section a try? (the optional line after that first one you took a second run at) I've still not managed to clean either...
Haven’t done that one yet
I’m always at mount Fromme every Saturday but I’ve never attempted to try those skinnies at upper oil can (scary) 😬 good jod man 👍🏼
Thanks! They can be intimidating for sure!
This place always looks like such a stressful place to ride. Nice job clearing it!
Ha, it can be! Thanks!
Ok now I can see how much harder the skinny to rock roll is than the one on Expresso haha, different league alltogether! Good work.
Ya the uphill skinny alone makes it challenging.
4:40 is where the old guy from uncut media fell off to the left...he was lucky not to get impaled on that tree !! great vid he also measured the incline on your white whale and I think it 69 degs !
Steep!
Hell yea
duuuuuuude, hell yeah
super awesome trail!
Oh ya!
Hey man I’m in chilliwack nice to see a fellow British Columbian person

I always use the pedal modes, seems to help me!

Well, I have the 27 Capra Cf. I would have got the pro race if I had the money haha.
C D that is a easy choice 27.5
That looks like a rainforest
Nice props on that dude!
Thanks!
Great video, keep it up.
Thanks!
Sweet vudei! Do you run clips or flats in this terrain? Flat seem safer...
I only ride flats
niice, looks like they rebuilt the ramp for the rock roll. no longer have to carry speed up a slippery green plank to make it over :D
Yup, new ramp up. It's not slippery or green, yet.
I need to move to Van ASAP
Yup!
Coolest vid...!!😃👍🏽 what tires are you using VanCan? You looked in control on the steep stuff
I have the E13 TRS+ tires on the Capra
Great trail, we need some of your trail builders to move south!
We can't spare a single one! 😝
Did you get some condensation on the inside of your lens cap? I ask because it happened to me last ride giving a similar effect. I had to twist it off and fix mid ride. Good work on the skinnies. I avoid them like the plague, never had an XTR derailleur before and want to keep it for a while, haha.

this is insane!
The features can be tricky!
Why weren’t you riding the specialized? Also great vid good job! The trails look awesome!
This was filmed last year!
This is livin
It's a good place to be!

Where did you buy that black thingy that covers the hero7 and helps the audio quality?
Right here!

Skillz !!
Thanks!
Do you hit your chain ring on that rock role or do you lift your rear wheel
Neither
VanCan how? I hit my chain ring on every thing 😂
Maybe you've got a big one, ha
VanCan pretty sure it is pretty low, and I have a bash guard on it so its even bigger, it still spooks me when I hit it though🤷♂️
No way . omg like a video game
Seth’s bike hacks did that in a vid!
Yup!
Sick! More vid.
Thanks! I'm working on it!
My avid xo brakes sound the same as yours, I can't figure out how to get rid of the slight squeak.
I've just accepted it
Thats how I know they're still working!
Nice riding, how's the hero7?
Thanks. So far so good!
@@VanCan did you still use a stabilizer?
Ya I’m still going to use the karma grip
When do you upload a new Instamic Video ?
Working on a video about my setup now! Probably January
Thank I call you Ahab because you conquered your white well and did the corners very well congratulations
That's some fine skinny riding right there.
I heard you love skinnies, especially when wet.
sick!!
Thanks!
Nice!
Thanks!
What is GNAR?
www.google.ca/amp/s/www.urbandictionary.com/define.php%3fterm=GNAR&=true
@@VanCan Thanks😉
Is it YT Jeffsy or Capra?
2018 Capra CF!
You missed the first tree roller from the road bahd
That was a great video. You are definitely a badass. I'd have a hard time walking on some of those features. LOL
Thanks Robert! They might actually be harder to walk down than ride! ha
Yeah I saw that the second I submitted the comment!!😂
Fuck yeah!
Wew!
Where exactly is mt fromme
North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
BRAVO CAPTAIN ISHMAEL!!!! ;)
Ha thanks!
he is wearing bcpov stickers on his helmet
Hi nicholaus
Who wants to ride a trail like that..
Btw love ur vids
are you clipped in
Flats for life!
It doesn't look like fun to me. I can see how someone might enjoy it but I prefer speed and jumps instead of slow descent requiring a bit different set of skills. I hope you didn't ride it alone. Deserted trail and if you injure yourself might take a while to get help.
It’s a different kind of fun. Jumps and speed are great! But sometimes you just want to do some tech
Poop my pant just watching haha.
Ha!
Damn thats a hard trail, but a nice Driver :D
I think the trail ist easier with a Racer 😅😂
They actually raced this trail a month ago!
Brasil eu
Give me a Bike... Please im Poor to buy mountine Bike
Ha I wish I could!
I hope you can do it
Riding "skinnies" just don't appeal to me, awesome video though.
fair enough!
Keep up the great work man. Been watching your stuff since the beginning, you're definitely going places with your content. I see you doing vids with BKXC, Loam Ranger, BCPOV, Seth, etc in the future! And as always, nice riding 🤙
Thanks for the kind words!
