Dale- your riding is fantastic, and the quality of your videos is best in class- always amazed with how clean and quiet your bike rides- nothing but trail sounds. Would love to see your video settings, audio set up, and any post-production you do.
Now that's my kind of "flow" trail :-D I'm right there with you on the cornering thing, corner left much better/more confidently than right. Not sure if it's because I ate it real hard on a right hand corner when I first was starting and really did in my shoulder and hence am a bit shy to really attack or the fact that I'm left foot forward, which seems to lend itself to left corners better and need to practice switching which foot forward more.
@@DaleStone i have dabbled with switching forward foot in berms and it feels good. Also just fun to ride switch footed or use it to rest your forward leg on long rides. That being said I ride way more BMX and i never switch feet in bowl corners, but you can get "inside the bike" on a 20" in a way you cant get even close to on a big wheeler....
It's amazing that you know the nuances of the trail very well: 1:09 and 3:52. By the way, it'd be interesting to see some telemetry overlay but I understand it requires more effort when editing
That was fast and smooth Dale. About the turning, I’m a little bit “better” (or, to be accurate, more confident) turning left too. I’m left foot forward. Question: are there ambi riders out there? Or does everyone pretty much have a preferred and consistent foot forward?
I can get by with either foot forwards most of the time, even jumping, but racing I'll lean on (ha) my left. Most people are pretty rigid on always riding with the same foot forwards.
If you are right handed, you will generally prefer left foot forward (on the bike and on a skate-or surfboard) and with that comes a preference for left turns. There ARE in fact some goofies who prefer the other side around (my wife and my brother are right handed but even get on the bike from the drive-side) - just like lefties do.
what’s a good upgrade for front suspension on my hardtail? right now it’s the default fork (100mm travel ) and i was wondering what a good upgrade for relatively cheap is. (no more than £400, hopefully about 200-350) thanks for any help
Ah, yes.....better corner to the left.....than the right....absolutely noticed.....not at all someone who's just entertained by a cool run without really biking themselves....no, sir.....👀
If you think this trail is tech try out Executioner, Bookwus, Ladies Only or Grannies or Crippler. This trail is not technical at all except for a couple of optional stunts Should try the original line.
It is very tech to a beginner. Definitely not if you've been riding a few years though, but as Dale points out there are definitely a few spicy options (that I'm very glad have been kept).
The trail looked like it was in amazing shape that day. Excellent run!

That is the most fun looking trial I've ever seen!
Popular for good reason!
By far the best camera quality ive seen in first person bike videos
Just discovered your channel, i love finding a little gem like this! Great footage!
This guy is the Bob Ross of Mountain biking. Blow this video up.

Thanks! There's nothing special to my process whatsoever. Standard ol' settings. 🙂
@@DaleStone thank you. Really good.
Thats mountain bikin for ya. Thanks Dale
Nice rip Dale! Gotta rock the old entrance for the extra tech points!
I did have that in my notes, ride that entrance when filming this trail haha...
such a cool trail, like what more could you want....
Was hoping for some Sunday morning stoke before heading up to Squamish. Guess I’ll have to wait until I get back. Congrats on 9k!
Amazing trail and nice riding , looks like so much fun :)
Except for Slenderman @ 4:30 😄✌️
Nice work Mr Zuckleberry!
Agreed!
Smooth af.
Great content Dale!
Keep it up!
Awesome Riding 😎 Love Expresso On It Saturday 😎
thanks for the great videos, Dale!
What camera do you use to record your videos? The quality of both video and audio is incredibly crisp and better than anyone else I see
Hero 8, nothing fancy. :)

Likely the driving foot position has something to do with it, as I'm the same!
That’s interesting, I much prefer left hand corners as well but I ride right foot forward

Very nice trail, man you was flying through there, well done. I'm jealous of the cool trails...
One day I will be able to ride Espressos that fast ! Goals! Great video
This makes me think of a quote from Dave on one of his videos, "you've gotten a little more extreme Dale". The mid air ding made me laugh 1:12

The only accurate telemetry data I can overlay are power and heartrate; speed and elevation are not accurate enough for my liking!

Don't love the look of the off-the-shelf solution, but yes this is the easy way!
I feel like I corner worse to the right because I have my left foot forward. I don't know if thats the case, just a hunch.
I’d like to see u do it on new bike !! Is there a triple espresso ☕️ 😂😂
What field do you have on the wahoo LED? Also, any issues with GPS accuracy with that unit? Having issues with my Bolt V2. Could be the auto pause.
Heart rate, no issues unless I'm in steep canyons. Auto pause definitely always off!

I’m not gonna lie I got kind of sketched out when you were hitting those berms at the start

When was this? I forgot that there were corners that weren’t dust
Early-mid June, agreed!

It's been so long I haven't a clue, haha. Though I did just post a video a month ago about my current settings!

Norco Sight
Great ride, what bike r u on? Looks super smooth!
2021 Norco Sight, it is!

You're going to struggle to get anything solid at that pricepoint, even in the used market I think. Good luck!
@@DaleStone would a 140mm fork mess up my geometry too much?
Likely yes, and your frame will not be tested to see the increase in loads.
