Another RARITY are the 1860 coins in COPPER, not Bronze! I have TWO 1949 Brass 3d's, one EF with lustre, the other Fine but was free! I also have SEVEN of the 1946 Brass 3d's, my 1st, EF with traces of lustre, given to me by my grandparents for my 21st, three of them cost me 20p each, and the other three 50p each, pretty lucky really. Another low mintage Florin I have, is the 1869, with mintage of only 297,000. Possibly the best coin I ever found (buried at the bottom of a tin box full of old Pennies and Halfpennies), in 1989, which I still own, is a virtually Uncirculated 1824 George IV Shilling, with the most beautiful blue toning, for which, I paid £30, and always believed that was a very good price! Another scarce Penny I own, is an Uncirculated Edward VII 1902 Low Tide variety, with original lustre. In 2023 I found an 1875H Penny, but in poor condition, at a cost of a huge 10p!!

" Thruppnee Bit" if you're from the South.
Two old Pennies were called "Tuppence" both North and South. A Halfpenny was always pronounced "Hape-nee" and anything that cost a Halfpenny was known as a "Hap'oth" (Pronounced "Hape ath") as in "You stupid Hap'oth" meaning a "Halfpenny-Worth". You could buy the smallest portion of Chips by asking for a "Hap'orth" of Chips.
A Half-Crown was also known as "Half a Dollar" in the North because of the popularity of Western Films and because of the exchange rate back then ($4 = £1)
