I'm in a debate right now on eBay with one such person. I can't see the small difference apparently that makes the coins valuable. Either deluded or a vile little scammer!
I've always thought those common coins on Ebay for crazy prices were money laundering schemes, what better way to pay someone with ill gotten cash than pay the recipient a ridiculous amount for a face value coin, hard to trace, easy to transfer overseas and anonymous.
Found one of these in the park today. Looked it up and saw the prices, hoped but didnt expect them to be legit and your video has confirmed it so thank you very much! The coin you said was released in his honour in 2014 does not show the royal coat of arms of the UK (probably the reason it was not accepted for a definitive). It shows the coat of arms of England (with the three leopards in two corners). The Coat of Arms of Scotland is similar, but shows the Lion Rampant in two corners. These differences were seen on (old money) shillings in the past.
