I recently tried the Maxfli Tour and very impressed with the similarity to ProV1. Noticeable less spin off short wedges but not a hindrance to the game as I typically spin the ball a little too much.
Great review, I have recently switched from the Pro V1 to the 2024 TP5X and have picked up 5 yards carry distance with my irons and 2 hybrid and 8 yards with my driver with very similar spin levels so I am very impressed with the new TP5X, quite surprisingly I never observed a noticeable difference between the 2 balls with my 5 wood.
There is a video from 2021ish where a guy compared 90’s liquid filled Titleist Pro92 with a new Prov1 and the difference was almost unnoticeable. Same guy did a 1990s Calloway Big Bertha driver vs the 2024 Calloway top end one and the yardage was only 5-8 years difference. The biggest measurable difference on any video I’ve seen is is Ball with a knick or scratch vs brand new ball. On a drive it can be up to 20 yards off line.
My swing speed with driver is 88mph. Which Taylor made golf ball do you recommend? I’m debating between TP5X vs the speedsoft. Most reviewers say the premium balls are not worth the money for players like me. I have a 12.6 handicap

I didn’t, I would have needed an assistant to help with that to secretly mark and record the data for each shot. That’s why I focused solely on clubhead speed to be the “controlled variable” in the testing
What ball do you play?
I play TP5 pix and testing the TP5x pix. Really like them both and hard to decide between one or the other.

I’ve seen that ball causing major waves this year. Great performance at an incredible price point
I’m just getting into the Bridgestone xs really good so far
Playing the TP5 the last few years. Haven’t tried the new Mizuno but would like to.
Would love to see someone of your speed do a review of the new Taylormade Soft Speed ball.

Could you please and thanks compare the Prov1 vs. TP5X? thanks
Much better than last year!! Just feel the TP5X doesn’t spin the enough around the greens unfortunately

Did you find durability issues…the ball scuffing up on shots? I’ve read a few reviews about durability being an issue.

I play the Srixon Soft Feel balls but I feel like there isn't a massive gap between brands.
Only thing I’ve noticed is that the cover on the 2024 balls don’t get scuffs after 2 wedge shots like the 2023 versions.
Play a prov1x. Just feels better around the greens for me than TP5. Never cared for chrome soft, too spinny/bad cover.
Would love to see a tp5 comparison
Did you used to teach in York Region Ontario Canada?
I didn’t, no

Would be interesting to see the 2024 ball v a 2020 or earlier ball to see how much improvement there’s been over a longer period of time.

Did you blind yourself to the ball and mix and match when you’d hit ‘23 or ‘24 ball?

@@andrewjensengolf Well, like all your videos, loved it!
