The soft core adult film music is an interesting twist 😂
That seriously caught me off-guard....
Thought we were going to cut to Mikey with a big tache, dressed as a plumber and about to fix the sink somewhere.
Gran Turismo music.
I rushed to the comments for this 😂😂😂
A strange addition, for sure. They are discussing the sound of the different balls, and then I’m struggling to hear it around the porn music.
Died of laughter because of this choice of music being added to the ball-hitting section 😂
Chrome Tour X would be the apples to apples comparison so this is a bit confusing 🤔
This one is almost identical to the ProV1 compression.
No kidding, have no idea why they did it this way. It should have been Chrome Tour vs Pro V1 vs TP5
@@BigDawgCAMdon’t get thrown off by Taylormade’s use of the X, TP5x is the low spin model but high compression while TP5 is High spin but softer feel. both of which from Mikey’s comments he would probably prefer. So testing all the High Spin balls seems to have been a more fair and useful test - Chrome Tour X, ProV1x and TP5
@@tomkar35seriously, the prov1x in here makes no sense.
Can we see the wilson staff ball in the test too? Would you guys ever consider gaming a Vice ball? If not how come?
Agreed - super strange
The perfect elevator, ball-striking, TXG lounge music 🎉🎉
That's gotta go. Just awful and makes me want to turn off the video.
I know Mike didnt love doing this but I have to say he represents a HUGE population of golfers and this testing was very telling for the golfers who swing and most likely play like he does. He should do MANY MANY ball tests for the average golfer.....watching robots hit or watching boderline professionals hit and test does nothing for the large population of 8-20 HDCP players......
Yeah, it’s silly watching someone test clubs who hits Driver 340 & straight
You could argue it's silly to test clubs with someone who can't hit the ball the same way twice. @@JM-qn3tf
I like seeing the dynamic loft there as well for reference. Ty
I never knew I needed watching Mikey swinging with jazz flute playing in my life. But this is the new gold standard
Kenny G & Mikey M collab coming soon 😅
@@mikemartysiewicz we need more testing from you. You represent a HUGE portion of the golfing industry....a lot of us swing and play like you. Please keep testing for us
Love it guys!
Let’s see the Wilson Staff as well.
Love ball testing videos. I'm always searching for the right ball.
Is Chrome Tour not the wrong ball to put up against the other X balls? Would Chrome Tour X not be the appropriate test? Ball names are so confusing lol.
Yea I really hoped this was going to have the Tour X
Depends what they are comparing. Chrome Tour is close to a Prov1. Softer feel and mid spin. Prov1x is the firm and high spin ball. Tp5x mid spin and firm feel. Would have been great if they either went with feel or with spin. We will probably see it in the future!
Yeah Needed to be the Chrome tour x
Hit the Chrome Tour in a bay recently for some testing. That brittle feeling Mikey mentioned was my sentiment as well. It felt like I was hitting something hard, and the cover got pretty beat up in a few swings. Frustrating, because the performance was quite good.
Chrome Tour and TP5X are actually both the “low spin” models. TP5 is their High spin model like ProV1x and Chrome Tour X. so in this case ProV1x is the outlier choice to compare, not sure why it was used here.
Extremely helpful, thank you!
How about adding in the new Wilson Staff Model in as well. Very underrated.
Sounds like much more ball comparison testing is needed! Love the content guys!
Love this video. I was fit for the Prov1x at TXG many moons ago. About to do some indoor testing to see if it is still the ball for me. Have also dabbled with the TM tour response.
Sensational choice introducing the music
Great test guys!!
I’ve recently switched to the new Wilson Staff Model. Longer than a Pro V, with more spin around the greens. It’s probably very similar to the Pro V1X. Example…I hit the Wilson from 65 yards yesterday, to a very small, firm, fast green. It took 2 hops, and stopped dead, next to the hole. I’ve always had trouble holding that green, from such a short distance, with any other ball. Jus sayin…
Superb as ever. Love the channel ❤️
Love the content - keep at it!
Love this as I was just asking for ball testing since callaway really switched things up. Please test the full Bridgestone range as it seems they've made some pretty significant changes this year too. Would be great to see you test all four of the tour B balls this year.
They one we’ve all been waiting for 🏆
I’ve been asking for this for so long!
Great job guys bringing us a very anticipated comparison. I liked Mike's point of view, but I would have loved to hear Ian's point of view also.
let's go!! been waiting for this test
Would love to see Srixon - the halfprice wonder - present.
Been waiting on this!
Bold choice on the music
Today, I invested deeply (24 balls) into Wilson Staff Triad Yellow.
Had white ones once before, good ball, distance and control, and moderately priced.
Love it!
Good test guys, would love to see a review/test of the new Wilson Staff and Wilson Staff X balls
Tiger did help with input on the 2024 X said it spins more around the greens than previous years a touch less than the XS but adds 1-2mph of ball speed with driver.
Great to see the 2023 Pro V1 X confirms my ball of choice!
I tried to pay attention, but I just could not stop dancing to the funky music.
Haven't tried Chrome Tour yet but put some Chrome Soft X LS in the bag for winter use just before the new ones arrived. I'm really impressed in wet & windy British winter conditions, having played mainly ProV1X (with the odd phase on Bridgestone Tour B XS because I was brought up on balata and also because Tiger 😂). It does feel really solid off driver/3W. Definitely gonna check the Chrome Tour X this summer. And I always found TP5X too clicky off my wedges and putter so....
YES!
Nice to see Chrome Tour doing exactly what it's advertised to do (with very tight standard devs too), and Mikey's findings match with what I've seen from it on course. As you mentioned, would be really curious to see how Mikey would jive with CTX.
For the player that struggles to keep full iron and wedge spin from getting too high, Chrome Tour does that without feeling excessively crispy. CT hung with the other two balls off the driver despite having a softer core.
I just pre-ordered my dozen of New Tiger Edition balls 😊
Heart broken to need to choose a different ball because I love the #1 balls and Tiger Stamp. I find out Bridgestone is releasing TourBx Tiger ball at the perfect time for me to stay comfortable with what I’m playing with.
Well done Mikey...without question ball testing has its own unique challenge. That said, the Bridgestone and Wilson ball should be given a test as well.
It's great to see how much Mike's game has improved to pro level!!
We need a ball bracket boys!
Man! Thought i was back on Love boat again for a spell.
Mikey glad you did the testing, especially the driver. You hit like me and a lot others.
Don’t be embarrassed
Great test, would like to see a Ball Test Bracket with more brands and models.
Love these ball tests. These new Callaway’s intrigue me. Figured they were just Chrome Soft with an identity crisis, as trust wasn’t back in the brand after the debacle a few years back
Don't leave out the new Staff model X....great ball.
Haven’t tried them yet, still have 3.5 dozen of the previous years model
Mikey did very well in this test. Very consistent on the strikes with all three clubs across the ball range. He's getting much better performance with the driver than he showed a year ago, so he's definitely on the right path.
I didn't play X balls until i found a TP5 X pix in the holidays... Gave it a round and loved it... Always thought it would be to spinny.
Taylormade is flipped, ProV1x is more spinny in Titleist, TP5 (non x) is more spinny in Taylormade. The x balls are both more "firm" feeling than their counterparts tho.
@@DrDaveYTExactly. Great post
Good test lads. Balls tests are tricky as no one is a robot and delivery will always alter a bit no matter who is holding the club. I am claiming that 2024 is year for Wilson Staff to really break through. I'm hearing awesome things on their new Tour Balls. I'd like to see the channel launch a few to show the masses. I played their Triad all last year.... at $49CAD, what a great ball. I'm curious about their 2024 Tour balls.
Not being a robot is the least of the worries in testing a ball on kit that doesnt follow flight and is in door. There is a reason titleist are so protective over dimple pattern infringements.
My own testing, showed the Srixon Z-Star Diamond to be very close in launch, spin and distance to the ProV1X. I find it does 'feel' a smidgeon firmer, but otherwise it is a really good high spin alternative. And Mikey is right about the Srixon durability. I took one out of play yesterday, after 3 rounds. I didn't need to, but it had developed an aversion to going in the hole 🙄
When you said the Titleist sounds more like the Taylormade it made me think about this fun fact that may attribute to the sound difference..the ProV1 line, TP5 line, and Maxfli Tour line all feature the same style of cover ...being cast urethane, whereas Srixon, Bridgestone, and Callaway all use TPU... This was as of the 2023 lines.
I would love to see tests for some of the mid-tier, not only against one another in those levels, but against the closest tier. I'm thinking like Taylormade Tour Response vs TP5 vs Pro V1 vs Chrome Soft, etc
Really keen to see what you guys think of the new AVX and the Wilson Staff
Enjoyed that as always ty , my swing speed is 80 mph with a 7 iron could anyone recommend a ball please not sure im fast enough to get the best compression with these balls , any help would be great .... Jules ⛳👍
During the tee height testing I noticed Mikey’s optimum launch angle was around 15 degrees with less than 2000 rpm spin, but in this test most of launch angles were 10 - 11 degrees and more spin.
Wish these balls matched up better. Would love to see these videos redone with Chrome Tour X, ProV1X, TP5 and Chrome Tour, ProV1, and TP5x.
exactly
Yes, what an odd video.
I couldn't stop laughing with that "Bom Chicka Bom Bom" music in the background 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why test titlest high spin vs TM low spin ball?
I think because it's his current gamer. Always establishes the baseline of what to compare to
i’m confused as to why you compared the low spin Chrome Tour ball and low spin TP5X to the high spin ProV1X model over traditional ProV1 which sits in a more equal spin and launch window?
conversely, if Mikey is better off with the high spin variants, isn’t TP5 and Chrome Tour X better balls to compare to ProV1X?
Love the new ball rollouts more than the club rollouts. Ordered 2 new boxes of the Callaway Chrome Tour Xs. Taylor Made is losing out on sales with their weird rollouts of quirky Dragon Themed balls in the new 2024 Ball. I play the Chrome Tour X, TP5, and the ProV1x. I enjoy all 3 brands and versions
I’ve always heard how incredible the triad and the staff model are from Wilson. Would love to see the staff model x thrown in this mix
What about the Bridgestone xs I personally love the feel of that ball. Especially the yellow one.
This is why I play the pro v1x for years I have similar swing and numbers to Mikey
love thse test but i want to see the test with callaway tour x
I got a couple Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour Xs handed to me when I demoed the AI Smoke stuff.
Personally I am between the TO5 and Pro V1X. For me, the perform very similar where the TP5X is definitely not a ball for me.
Where’s the Bridgestone ball? Criminal not to include!
Agree. I play Tour B X and it is awesome. Why Club Champion.
Is there a new ball from b stone in 2024?
Agreed!
@@MEAT0What if a 2023 ball is better than 2024?
@@jon4715 but that isn’t the point of the video. It literally says in title 2024 ball test.
Pretty sure all Callaway marketing is the Chrome Tour is there direct competitor to the ProV1 so this is odd test?
Did some initial on course testing my normal Pro V1X vs TP5X. TP5X was consistently longer from tee and on fairway shots. May be due to what looked like a lower height and better roll out. 100 yard shots were pretty equal. Short game and putting was advantage Pro V1X. The TP5X is very clicky around the greens, especially noticeable on longer putts. Feel on shorter shots was poor on TP5X for me. More testing to come to see if I can overcome the short game issues with the TP5X.
Definitely try the MaxFli Tour X
I would be more interested in the direct to consumer bells, vice, snell, etc?
1000% in for the music.
Good job swinging
Prov1x is. My ball. Rarely if ever do I get flyers with this ball. Titleist make the most consistent golf balls on the market period, especially with prov1 line. There’s a reason why it’s the most popular ball on tour. It’s simply the best performer . End of story.
How would the vice pro plus compare?
I play Wilson DUO Soft. Taylormade Soft Respnse.
Love that half zip white top, where to get it may I ask
My favorite ball driver to 5 iron is the prov1x. How ever 6 iron to putter I prefer the softer prov1. Driver 118mph club 185mph ball.
I just started using pro v1 and i love them, i now know why they are expensive.... The covers on them are tough. I top a few shot bladed a few more and you could see nothing on the cover...
Now do this same test but with the Chrome Tour X because wouldn't all of those balls be the most similar? Thanks!
Chrome tour x is the spinny one, apparently taylormades x is not spinny and the titleist x is spinny again.
Great job Mikey!
Thanks
Can you do a video of how to pick the best ball? There are so many now I don't know how to pick what will suit my game the best
Start from putter feel & then work your way up the bag.
Interesting test but surprised you didn’t do Chrome Tour X with ProV1x and TP5. Those are 3 similar ball categories. The three you did was one category from each manufacturer.
For those of us who don't get golf balls free, how was the durability of the Chrome tour cover? I played Chrome Soft X, and while a good ball, it was much easier to nick the cover (and I don't swing fast or have balls ricochet off cart paths and trees).
That first shot at the intro sounded like a Q-star. Just a polymer rock.
Also, have you got your hands on the latest Maxfli Tour and Tour X?
What about the left hash prov
I’d like to see a comparison (best ball) from some budget end balls like ad333, callaway super soft and srixon soft feel as not everyone uses premium balls
With Taylormade, isn't it backwards---the TP5 is the spinnier ball? Why did you test the less spinny, TP5X against these other models?
v weird miss from the experts
emlooper you are correct
A lot of reviews and information is available on the golf balls used by PGA professionals and low handicap golfers. What about golf balls available for lower swing speeds like ball compression 50 to 70… and the best golf balls for hollow body irons or game improvement category…. I think this maybe more useful to the average Joe! I would love to use these premium golf balls but they are a tad expensive to lose!
hes a machine
Any chance you guys do the Vice golf balls soon?
So do X balls with more spin cause more side to side movement? I want to play an X but worried it would make my tee shots more wild.
They do for me anecdotally. I always play urethane but will often play Chrome Soft instead of my gamer Chrome soft X on tight short courses that I can get away with the low spin around the greens. Be warned speed wise - I’m only 200-225 off the tee ymmv
Please get rid of the music 🤣
I use blades (34-degree, 7i) and they are getting a little too spinny. I think that it's time I try that Chrome Soft.
I have the same traditional lofts. I used to have a very high ball flight across the board. I realized that if I wanted to lower my hcp I needed a lower more penetrating flight to mitigate wind issues. I've played the prov1 for years and love its consistency. I usually get a box at Christmas and another for my bd. That's usually enough for the year.
So looming at the spin rate with the driver all 3 balls were under 2000 what is the ideal spin rate for a driver
It’s great seeing you guys hit, but maybe a robot driver would be best to setup proper impact and launch conditions on the ball test. Mikey did great but even he said he was done.
Are these balls more spin or less spin?
when you say Chrome Soft is it a habit/slip and you're actually referring to Chrome Tour?
Theres still a Chrome Soft ball, its their softest ball cos the tour is now harder.
Can you please do a test with all the regular balls against each other (prov1 vs chrome tour vs tp5) and also all the Xs against each other (prov1x vs chrome tour X vs TP5x) please
Played 27 holes yesterday with a Yellow TP5x, mid handicapped 12.8. Was dissatisfied with it. TM tour preferred works as well as Callaway crome softs are good. THOUGHT'S?
Maxfli Tours are really overlooked by most.... in my sim they compare to the prov v's and tp5 at substantial discount
I play the Maxfli tour x and won’t pay the price of the high priced balls
They are good but they are not as long as other top brands. I test golf balls and they perform mainly for short game.
@@erniestarkey8856 for me according to my monitor they are as long
