Hello friends! Her first time listening to Rammstein. The song we selected was the studio version of 'Amerika' . This is her first time reaction to this song and I really hope you enjoy it!

    -------------------------------------------------
In "Amerika," Rammstein tackles the theme of worldwide cultural and political imperialism of the United States. The song's lyrics, as well as the visuals in the music video, unambiguously point towards a critique of America's cultural imperialism, political propaganda, and its self-assumed role as a global police force.
The song features two verses sung in German with a chorus in "Denglisch" (a mix of German and English): "We're all living in Amerika, Amerika ist wunderbar, We're all living in Amerika, Amerika, Amerika" and "We're all living in Amerika, Coca-Cola, sometimes war." The band views it as a satirical commentary on Americanization, and the lyrics reference things considered American, such as Coca-Cola, Wonderbra, Santa Claus, and Mickey Mouse.
Uncharacteristically for Rammstein, the song incorporates an interlude where the lyrics explicitly state the band's intentions: "This is not a love song, This is not a love song, I don't sing my mother tongue, No this is not a love song."
In our opinion, "Amerika" is a brilliant musical piece that combines Rammstein's characteristic power with clever and satirical critique. The song invites us to reflect on the impact of American culture on the world and questions the idea of cultural and political supremacy.
The music video perfectly complements the song's lyrics, presenting iconic and symbolic images that reinforce the message of critique towards America's influence. Rammstein's ability to address complex and controversial issues through their music is admirable.
In conclusion, Rammstein's "Amerika" is a musical masterpiece that combines powerful melodies with biting critique of cultural and political imperialism. The song urges us to contemplate the consequences of American influence in our globalized society.
Thank you very much for your support and recommendations. ^^

    Rammstein Amerika Full Lyrics:
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika ist wunderbar
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika
Wenn getanzt wird will ich führen
Auch wenn ihr euch alleine dreht
    Lasst euch ein wenig kontrollieren
Ich zeige euch wie es richtig geht
    Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Die Freiheit spielt auf allen Geigen
Musik kommt aus dem Weißen Haus
Und vor Paris steht Micky Maus
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika ist wunderbar
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika
Ich kenne Schritte die sehr nützen
Und werde euch vor Fehltritt schützen
Und wer nicht tanzen will am Schluss
Weiß noch nicht dass er tanzen muss
    Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Ich werde euch die Richtung zeigen
    Nach Afrika kommt Santa Claus
Und vor Paris steht Micky Maus
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika ist wunderbar
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika
    We're all living in Amerika
    Coca-Cola, Wonderbra
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika
[This is not a love song
This is not a love song
I don't sing my mother tongue
No, this is not a love song]
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika ist wunderbar
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika
    We're all living in Amerika
    Coca-Cola, sometimes war
    We're all living in Amerika
    Amerika, Amerika

This song is Rammsteins take on american cultural imperialism. Its not about them denying the moon landing happened, its about them saying that cultural imperialism is a huge scam.

Its all about "Americanization" and American influence, forced or otherwise on the world. The lyrics and video are perfect combination. Love the dance metaphor, the whole "don't worry if you don't know what to do WE will show you how it's supposed to be done" , that's great. You've got the African tribe eating American style pizza, the monks eating burgers, the holy man with the designer sneakers , the Asian guy dressed like some James Dean style greaser on a motorbike,Santa Claus in Africa and several other things. That strong American influence being common place in the world

"the holy man with the designer sneakers"
You mean the Arabian guy praying on the carpet?
The Nike sneakers are only a little detail. The main message is in which direction he is praying.
You are ware of the oil rigs in the background? You can see the flame on the op of the towers that is there to burn the gas that is also coming out.

That's the first, the apparantly , layer. Other meaning ist more hidden.
"Die Freiheit spielt auf allen Geigen" - Freedom ist the big american Story, an ist been told with all kinds of propaganda. "Musik kommt aus dem weißen Haus" music comes from the White House - in German it means Who let the music play, has the power.
"Und vor Paris steht Mickey Mouse" In front of Paris ist Mickey Mouse
OK, the french people give the statuette of Freedom to News York. And back Mickey Mouse? There is much more, you have to dig deep!

Rammstein are from East-Germany. If you don't understand what East-Germany was, look it up. You should have learned this in history classes. In essence they experienced both worlds, the socialist/communist world and the "democracy" that has been bestowed upon them. They are not really mocking, they are observing what is happening in the world at the time and putting that information right in your face. This song in now 19 years old, and it is still relevant to this day.

As an American who loves Rammstein, I gotta tell ya... I love this song. Musically, fantastic, as always. Thematically, true. True. Non-jingoistic Americans understand our faults, and we do try to elect better politicians and protest and all that stuff. But it's tough. Only an imbecile would see the band's message and get offended.

Bombed over 1000 German cities . Murdered 300,000 in Dresden . Amongst many other war crimes . Can you honestly blame the few Germans who are still pissed? Sadly many Germans are cucked. Brainwashed and don't know their own history . Taught to feel shame for their own greatness. Seriously wtf.

It's interesting to see how many RUclipsrs reacting to Rammstein are unable or too lazy to find out the correct pronunciation of the name of this band, even in a technically advanced age that offers a lot of voice language translators here on the Internet.

    • @OhMyMole
      @OhMyMole  Год назад

Hello Marty. Thanks for your comment. Here in Argentina the band is known by that pronunciation. That is probably why you often hear it mispronounced. The same goes for "Disney". In Argentina it is pronounced as "Dis-nei" not "Dis-ni". In any case, we understand your concern and we are sorry that it has ruined the reaction. Greetings!

@@OhMyMole Just be aware that this band is German and not Spanish, so its name as you pronounce it means nothing at all and no one in Germany including Till Lindemann would probably understand you. Another thing is that if I have a favorite band and I can't even pronounce it correctly their name, so it's not only a bit embarrassing, but it's actually disrespectful towards them (if it's public like this on the internet). I think it's not that difficult for an common Latin American to learn just one disyllabic
      German word, is it?
If you listen to the Rammstein song of the same name, or the Rammlied song, you can hear them singing their name several times, so you can easily learn it from there.
Good luck with your next job and greetings from Europe.

While I don't necessarily blame anyone for another pronounciation (I shudder to think what names I might butcher with german as my mother tongue and english as my second language), what is more of a pet peeve for me is reactions in general never looking up the lyrics when reacting to a song in a language they don't speak.
Rammstein's videos usually tell a story on their own without them, but they ALWAYS add so, so much more. And other artists may not have that advantage at all. If I want to analyse something, why ignore half of what it's made out of?
Either way, kudos to the two of you for reacting to it and not getting so distracted by him singing Mickey Mouse that the entire critisism aspect of the song gets lost. Sadly, a lot of reactions to this song I have come across are so amused by some visuals and that part they they somehow even miss the "this is not a love song" bit entirely.
