Joes face for the horizon zero dawn remaster was literally EXACTLY my reaction, why are we remastering a game that isn’t even slightly old? It also look amazing still. Shows how deep corporate greed runs
People often complained that the poor facial animations were off putting for such a long game. They recorded lots of new dialogue and it does look and play bettter. It’s only 10 dollars to upgrade. That’s a pretty good deal. I got the game free during the pandemic but never played it. Now I get a better version for cheaper.
Many comments I have seen are going to do the upgrade. These Remasters sell, are cheap to do, and don’t take too much time. It’s not greed but common sense.
I think people wouldn’t be so annoyed if there were more exclusives coming out.

Honestly i was pissed cause i thought it was gonna be identical but 4k60 for ps5. Instead its an actual upgrade with mocap animations and all. The original had horrible dialogies with stiff and unexpressive characters. Now at least thats fixed. Id rather have had a killzone remaster but oh well.
Same reason why we had a TLoU2 remaster. ND is creatively bankrupt so they had to shell one out

Ghost of Yotei and the Legacy of Kaine: Soul Reaver 1&2 remastering is the best parts.
It's the only parts.. the other games are lame.

I give it a 7 as well. Lunar remastered is insanely huge for ps1 rpg fans, those games have been locked in ps1 for decades. They spent more time on games than anything else. Some quickfire some they took time but nothing felt like it overstayed its welcome. No live service, battle royale, looter shooter FPS slop. Hopefully Concord was the gut punch Sony needed to stop with past State of Play BS

Honestly every official preview has looked bad while all the previews from content creators who have had early access look amazing. Bioware does not know how to market their games. Probably to be expected after so long without releasing one.
All the previews have been extremely positive but keep on hating if it makes you less unhappy I guess.
As soon as I seen a female protagonist for Ghost of Yotai, instantly thought of a Mulan kind of story and I’m all for it!

people need to stop sleeping on Soul Reaver. its a criminally underrated sub franchise of the legacy of Kain series. both games were written and directed by Amy Hennig who is best known for her work on the first 3 uncharted games.

I've cut waaay back on the number of games I buy each year. At this point, I'm revisiting old favorites too frequently to get invested in new stuff unless it's a top tier game. Ghosts of Yotei is the only new announcement that's catching my attention, and I'm not in a rush for even that.
Your just getting old low key, its okay it happens we outgrew of stuff to be on confort of other more familiar stuff. Remember consoles are for 10 year olds who had no previoues expirence. Just not your market

WTF was that Dragon in dragon age? In inquisition, the dragons looked cool and nice and some rare actually dragon in video games (not wyverns). This dragon looked bad.
The entire cutscene (I assume it was an ingame cutscene) looked like crap.

that dragon design was one of the 3(4?) dragon designs in inquisition, bulky forehead and ice powers. also the same dragon design fought at the end of the Jaws of Hakkon dlc, which also used ice

Agreed, I am excited as wsell but I felt they needed to give Jin a good sendoff to his story which still has a lot of potential as the hero warrior thats branded a traitor by the Shogun.

Astro Bot is like stepping into a time machine and playing the nes as a kid! Devs definitely had fun making this and in turn I had a hell of a time! Give it a chance!
I'd say it's a 4.5 at most. Half the games are remasters, the PS5 pro really brings down the score for obvious reasons and most of the remaining games require a VR headset which most PlayStation 5 players don't own.
Ghost 2 and Dragon Age! Also Palworld was wild 😂

I think a 7.5-8 for the State of Play. I was expecting nothing interesting and ended up being surprised. It has a little bit of everything and of course, Ghost of Yotei looks really damn good! Plus I like playing as women. So that's a plus for me.
Monster Hunter Wilds didn't interest me, but I'm not exactly interested in the series. I haven't been able to get into it from the few times I've played. I'm in the minority and that's okay.

Why is Jinn’s story over? Felt like it was just beginning?
Between the main game and the DLC, we learned just about everything about Jin. There's nothing else to tell. Another game would just be emotionally shallow and would bring nothing to the table. Plus, I'm not really that interested in fighting more Mongols.
With Yotei, we get a new main character character to learn about, a new area to explore, and loads of new weapons to try out.
Different place, I believe different time too, it might possible they can make a direct Tsushima sequel, yotei sequel, etc.

I have no problem with Ghost main character being a female. The thing for me is that there is not enough stealth/ninja gameplay. I want a Tenchu remaster.
It's actually historically correct... somewhat. Since he talks about a hunter in the trailer. Yotei is in Hokkaido and the Ainu had a majority of female huntresses, also known as Hasinaw-uk-kamuy meaning Goddess(es) of the Hunt.
FromSoft owns Tenchu IP. Sekiro was basically improved Tenchu 3.

PSVR2 is in good form. They just launched the PC adapter AND there's a lot to play now, no longer a paper weight
Yeah and not to long ago it was on a big sale and sales went up like 2000% in some areas. It was sold out on amazon UK. Joe has been hating on it before it even launched and I agree sony can fo more but its not paperweight like he says. He doesn't even bother to try the damn thing anymore but just hates on it.
What if you don't have a gaming PC and have no plans on getting one? People bought the PSVR2 headset to use with their PS5.

GT7, RE8 VR, RE4 Remake, No mans sky, Red matter 2, Vertigo 2. All of these games are insanely quality. Soon we'll have Aces of Thunder, Behemoth, Flatout VR, RoboQuest Vr, Hitman VR and Metro awakening!

This was actually a very good state of play. Lot of new ideas and updates if highly rated games.

yes there's third party games that are coming up and there good but what made Sony stand out was there first party exclusive titles. Now you expect consumers to purchase a ps5 pro for slightly better graphics and performance mode for $700 without a stand nor disk drive and no new games. there are plenty of ps2 games they could've remade or revised that would've brought back some nostalgia

I wasn't too interested in Ghost of Tsushima (very interesting game, but not my cup of tea), but I am definitely interested in Ghost of Yotei, mainly because I like stories and games about Hokkaido.

Even though I don't play VR games I really was interested in that claymation one, One of my fav's is ghosts of tsushima, so at the end I love that Sony was going hard and brought out Ghost of Yotei. This was a good state of play.

Gaming commentary has gotten wayyy too negative. I think ppl need to step away from gaming for 6months to a year and come back w a fresh outlook. This state of play was an easy 8/10 or more simply bc of Ghost alone.. not including anything else
Way negative? Few remasters, few dlcs and few games is not mind blowing stuff, its average. Just because you have tunnel vision for Ghost alone, doesnt make it amazing.
Sure by that time and nobody complain we will get Concord remaster and Concord 2, thanks to the ones embracing wokeness.
@@ChaosPrototypeIX PS5 has gotten 10+ console exclusives this year alone and ppl get hung up on 1st party. The remasters are NOT primarily for ppl who have already played the games, they are for the 20miliion new PS5 owners that didn’t own a PS4. These remasters (along with new games/IPs) help ppl build PlayStation libraries quickly and at the best quality, while building brand loyalty. It’s not rocket science if you really think like a business would

Honestly wish they played more indie games, would help them broaden their horizons in general. Like I can make a chart of things that will make them react a certain way just because of the way it looks. Creepy monsters - exciting, anime aesthetic - lame, for example, regardless of the quality of the games themselves or their story.

@@TheLongestTake That's fair. I like all of them really. The bleakness really grabs me. Last Light is probably my favourite as it feels like a logical step forward from 2033. Exodus I like but with many caveats. It can feel very disjointed at times. The DLC is great though.
