Ali did Frazier dirty and when questioned in front of Mike he was not talking that way. Tyson would have been all wrong for Ali. He was small and strong and came forward like Frazier but more clinical. He would have beat Ali.

Holmes in his prime would’ve beaten Tyson. Tyson never beat a hall of famer in their prime. He also had problems with fighters who knew how to fight behind their jab (Douglas, Lewis). Holmes had the best jab I’ve ever seen.

Larry didn't want the fight with Ali at all it ripped him apart psychologically. His respect and empathy for Ali, who was old and unwell was genuine. That's the difference between him and Tyson. I enjoy Tyson's growth end game. He now has the mettle that holds his dignity and self respect intact.
Holmes fought Tyson at 38 years while tyson was in his early 20s. I'm quite certain Holmes knew he wouldn't beat him he couldn't pass up on that huge pay n still stepped in the ring. When asked if he was in his prime of course he'd say he can beat him.
Cuz you n everyone else knows you switch the ages holmes would drop Tyson even earlier than round 4

Both Fraizer and Ali had reason to speak highly of Mike Tyson. Ali asked Tyson to get revenge on Larry gor what Holmes because Holmes beat Ali silly. Fraizer's son Marvis was almost killed by Tyson in the ring so he had to say Tyson had skills or that would make Marvis even more of a bum than he was. Ken Norton stayed quiet because he knew Tyson would have whooped him like a step child.

Even in his prime, right hand from Mike was going to be a problem for Larry Holmes. Larry could be caught with rights and Rooney and those guys would likely have Mike doing drills on stepping into a right hand. Shavers caught him, as did Renaldo Snipes. Tyson was a better finisher than both.

Also, I think it was an open secret in boxing circles back then s if you watch the Ali vs Holmes fight, Ali only landed one significant punch the entire fight and it was a counter right hand over the jab in I think round 2 or 3. You can see Ali looking for it before it lands.
