      2nd Amendment.
You're responsible for your own safety.
      Ask the supreme court.
      Research 18 USC 242 and
Note what the penalty is for violent violations.

@jacksprat418-ju5qo because they know nothing will ever happen to them. They may even get promoted. The pension is safe and maybe more because of promotion. (As long as cop do the investigation of themselves, it will always be we found no wrong by the officer) any cop or department in like Washington state will find the same response. Because all cops in a state at one time or another will work together or training together. You would need (citizens and cops) from another state like Georgia Investigation of Washington state no one from the same state or region.

It was a picture, on the left was the US Constitution, on the right was a stack of papers several thousand pages high. Under the Constitution it said "Rules for the government", and under the giant stack was the caption "Rules for you".
Knowing your rights isn't too hard, but knowing the law is much more difficult. The problem is that cops are rewarded for not knowing the law, while you are punished.

Who should investigate? People that do not know the job? Classic civilians that have never done an investigation and had someone walk up and start disturbing the investigation. Or regular people that have no idea what a fight is but they should judge use of force?
My suggestion is make a civilian oversight board but…. Those people have to do a full academy and do over 200 hours of ride alongs. So they can see when stuff goes down. I can honestly say that my department investigates officers that do wrong properly and find wrong doing all the time. I’ve seen several officers arrested and several officers fired during my tenure as a police officer. I have friends in Phoenix police and it is explained the same way. The doj report showed several first time offenders get supervisory counselings. Just like any other job! Just because it ends up on the news everyone thinks people should be fired or imprisoned for a first time offense of being disrespectful. Not a crime
To be disrespectful. In this case the guy recording deterred the officers from their investigation and was therefore stopped for civil traffic and arrested for failure to obey(title 28 laws I looked up in Arizona). He essentially got talked to because his personality sucks and he shouldn’t talk to people that way….again not a crime.

Good to see the Phoenix PD get the special recognition it deserves after so many years of living under the shadow of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department. This is clearly a case where the department needs a complete reorganization under completely new management, getting rid of the problem cops and supervisors, and they probably need a new County Prosecutor, too. Law enforcement needs to serve the people of the community.

This is purely a political move. Harris called for defending police to help get elected as VP with Biden. Now she is running for president, and is now calling for being tougher on bad cops while praising the good ones. Left leaning media have perfectly mirrored her speeches since she announced her candidacy. I'm not against them finally reporting on it. I just wish it had been way sooner and for all the right reasons. I'm very happy it is finally being reported on. It took way too long.

I used to live in Phoenix and this has become common, common practice among it's officers. As other commentors have stated, it's a nation-wide epidemic. Notice the attitudes of the so-called officers? Bullies, arrogance, and having no regard for the law is their default setting; they feel they're above the law and can administer the law as they deem necessary. They have no idea how it has created a great distrust in law enforcement worldwide. I know I don't trust them at all and never, never donate money to them.
