I'm 24 and currently going through a series of mental battles, mainly depression. One game I gravitate towards is Super smash bros on the 3ds, as it reminds me of a time when i would be playing the game with my highschool friends. Nowadays I don't really have anyone, so its nice to have a game to relive memories.

i have anhedonia and can't really experience this anymore (the TTYD footage managed to evoke a feeling and super pap mar a bit too) but i just play whatever weird games i even SLIGHTLY have an inkling of desire to play now. most usually swiped from my backlog or if i stumble upon something that manages to capture my attention so much at the time i just cut straight to it immediately, people should just play what they feel like when they feel like it(too a healthy extent), i used to come home and grind super fantasy zone on my wii virtual console after a bad day at school which was many of them.
Im sorry you went through that. I sometimes think if i just went with my gut and played what i felt i’d be happier
Good video. I really love the Mario RPGs alot. I do wonder why you dislike Dream Team.
Sure it had some issues with the stories but it offered great locations that give off the vacation vibe and I liked that it brought alot of characters from the older games and the new ones are great. I also think its battle system and Paper Jam's battle system were the best in the series.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinions. For me, it felt like they focused more on the visuals than the moment to moment progression. Having bowser be the villain again was disappointing after he was the hero, and i wish they’d just make him an anti-hero (sorta like king dedede from kirby and his evolution).
I also couldn’t physically finish it because the new colors messed with my eyes (im colorblind lol), and i didnt like the gyroscope attacks. I actually talk about that in my colorblind gaming video.
The characters that they brought back would’ve been cool if they actually remembered the bros.
I can’t speak on paper jam’s battle system, but it shared some aspects about dream team that i didnt fancy.
For me personally, the specials from the first three are the most enjoyable. Sorry i dragged on 😅
@@BiggestSniff I don't consider Bowser to be a hero except to his minions and family. The times were Bowser was forced to team up with the bros were because he wanted to save his minions, take back his castle, or so that no bad guy gets in the way of his world-conquering conquest.
When Bowser betrayed Antasma in Dream Team, he says "You thought you were using me?!" This implies that Antasma was trying to use him. Even more evident are those purple vines in Neo Bowser Castle. They help strengthen Antasma when Bowser sleeps.
I loved Bowser in Dream Team because in the previous games, he starts as this butt-of-joke villain but then slowly becomes this serious threat. So I really enjoyed the twist when I 1st saw this.
You wouldn't expect someone who's usually laughed at, not taken serious, and sometimes is pretty dumb to pull a move like that. The twist wouldn't work with any other villain but it worked for Bowser because of the reasons I listed.
And after he loses the Dream Stone, he's shown in a Clown Car Tub thingy with Kamek & the Elite Trio. He acknowledges their efforts and says afterwards "Losing is NOT an option. And neither is giving up!" "I'll kidnap Peach over and over until I actually pull it off".
The reason why I find this to be very inspiring is because Bowser lost an artifact that could grant him anything he wants. And he lost against the bros while infused into that. And he still doesn't give up! The "Losing is NOT an option. And neither is giving up!" might be my favorite Bowser quote for the reasons I listed.
I DO however wish that Antasma lived instead of dying. Maybe Brothership can fix this problem considering there are Antasma related enemies out there and even the main villain gives off the Antasma vibes. (Or maybe they're just designing them this way because of the Mario mandates, which hopefully isn't true)
Forgot to add this: Yeah it sucks that only Starlow of all people remembered the bros. Oddly enough, Popple & Broque Monseur remember that they met the bros but don't remember what they look like. There is that one beanbean NPC that does remember them. He says he misses the Queen Bean from what I can remember.
Sorry for your colorblindness. Dunno how this can be fixed but if it can't, I hope you can cope well with it.
I can see why you'd prefer the older bros attacks since there were infinites but I enjoyed avoiding enemy attacks in 3D alot and I do enjoy the variety of the bros attacks in the last 2 M&L games.
