foolio you put the hat on, try getting a slightly smaller size. Then once hat is on your head. Grab the tip of the bill right in the center and pull away from your head. This and wearing the hat will give it that natural curve

Make the hat flat when he play Baseball? Baseball players always bend it and that looks mutch better on Baseball hats! The guy with the red Yankees cap has an almost perfect brim and the most beauthiful hat!

@@anthonyhernandez8517 in my experience if your cap a little tight, when you break it in the brim will follow your head nicely, you don't even have to do anything to the brim
1. Take the stickers off
2. Bend it just a little bit
3. Wear it all day

The reason the guy in the red cap looks great is his long hair contrasts well with the width/boxiness of these kind of hats. Also, the crown is widest when it is by his ears, rather than billowing at the top

Back then I’ve never been a hat person. One day I just bought me an LA 59fifty New Era (Dodgers fan lol) and now I’m kind of obsessed with them. I feel like I gotta buy a new hat every other week lol 🙌
1: Stickers off
2: Thumbs under the bill where the smallest row of stitches meet the sweatband and bend it a bit either side(stops any rooftop breakage)
3: Pull corners of bill together and roll back and forth a little bit
Curve comes out mint every time.
For some reason, every hat I get from LIDS has some imperfection in the stitching that makes the hat look crooked. Kinda sucks. I’ve noticed the Dodger hats I buy at the stadium always have the perfect fit on the first fitting. I dunno what it is 🤷🏻♂️
they don't always fit perfectly, there are sizing variations, like for me some 7 5/8's hats are sometimes too small, sometimes too big, depends on the hat sometimes.

I prefer the brim flat, then I have full vision and I don't need to break it in only stetch if it's slightly small to get the perfect fit.

The brim is completely flat new. However it remains flat only if your head is perfectly round (seen from the top). Since most of us have oval heads, curving the brim gives a better fit. 😊
Why the hell do new era caps have to be so big now? Five years ago, you could buy them perfectly sized. Now, you gotta wait a year until you can wear them normally. They only come in two sizes; too big or two small.
Nop, unfortunately thats true. Thats why I skipped to snapbacks, because I am tired of the weird sizes of the new fitted caps. The size I used to wear is now too big and one size below is too small. Also have the feeling that the crown is much bigger now :/

Go to a store like lids, and try on hats untill you find your size. Thats what i do. Works great
They are hand made every hat fits different. I buy one that fit a little tight then steam it and stretch it to fit my head the way I like. I also steam the mesh on the crownand shape it to fit the top of my head.

I love my yNew Era hats but in the last 5-10 years they have been really inconsistent. I bought an all red Yankees and a all black Dodgers at the same time. I wore the Yankee hat twice as much as the Dodger hat but the LAD cap looked like it was 15 years old and the NYY cap looks brand new a year later.
Are both made of the same material?

I don't rock the 59Fifty anymore; my head is too big. I like the 39Thirty because they come out of the box feeling, fitting and looking broken in. Low crown, pre-curved bill and everything. I've bought four of 'em just in the last month or so.

Flat brims, stickers on unless they fall off or look tacky, and hornets hats for days! Among other teams cool caps.I keep the curved brims slightly curved and flat brims flat.
I'm old school and never have been a fan of the flat bill. It's gotta be curved. The bills on the newer AC MLB caps are usually pretty hard so if you want to curve the bill you have to slowly start to shape it or it will crack down the middle. When I get a new cap I wear it for a few days and start to loosen up the bill whenever I get a chance. Once it starts to soften up and it will curve without breaking I get the bill wet then start to work on the shape of the curve to get it just how I want it. Once it's wet it bends really good. I use warm water. If I really want to get a good curve I'll use a big cup as a mold and lay the bill on it and secure it with a rubber band. It has to be wet and the rubber band shouldn't be very tight. Let it set for a couple days and dry and it comes out perfect. (I actually have some XL soda cups I got at a Rockies game that makes a perfect mold.) The newer pro models are 100% polyester so they won't shrink when they get wet like the old wool ones
Oh yeah, the stickers definitely have to come off!

I used to buy up every hat out there but marriage and kids have forced me to alter my budget lol. I've never purchased anything in the Diamond Collection, but I think they look like nice caps.
I look dumb with a flat brim and a really curved brim like that second guy. Has to be very slightly curved for me.

I never bend the bill or try and stretch it out...If its too tight, its not the hats fault, it just means i needa haircut.
...Because to me the NewEra is already perfect, all it really needs is sombody who "Fits" in.
i usually take off the store's price tag, keep the gold sticker on top, the licensing sticker on bottom. keep it legit New Era style.

For me, I would find a cap that would be a little tight on my head. Afterwards, I bend the brim just a little bit. If it doesn't fit, then I bend a little more until it's comfy on my head.
Been over 59fifty and that boxy flat brim look. Got rid of most of them. 39thirty’s all day! Perfection!
I like to find older stock hats as there were cooler styles apparently back then instead of today
I used to not do anything with mine and just keep it pretty much how I purchased it, soo just flat lol... Maybe because back in the days the flatter the brim was, the "better" it supposedly looked.
Now though... I wear it a little low (just above my eyebrows) and bend/adjust the brim ever so slightly. Enough to basically suit my face shape.
I like wearing mainly vintage/retro snapbacks, but own some new era snapbacks/fitteds aswell.
Both are great snapback and fitted. I handle it like you, I don't bend my hats, if I wanna have a curved cap I buy a cap which is already curved.

Can someone explain how to break in a flat brim? I know that question sounds stupid, but my flat brim has a really stiff looking crown etc.
Blow dry the mesh part of the hat when it's good and hot form it to your head repeat as necessary

Big fan of 59fifty (I own like 10 of them) but the size and shape of the hats are so inconsistent. The best 59fifty I have if the one that has made in Vietnam tag, right size, soft fabric/sweatband, non boxy crown and easy to shape brim. I'm kinda scare to buy another 59fifty because it's difficult to return in where I live.

Wearing in the rain is a good tip. I live in Ireland my hats get broken in very nicely, and my head stays dry too

Why can't everyone just get along. People should know that different people wear hats differently so don't get surprised and angry. There are gonna be some people that like to curve their low crowned hat to the max to look like a 53 year old man at a baseball game and there are gonna be the flat brimmed all stickers on 17 year old swagsters. Just move on with your life and let others do what they want to

I don't do anything to my hats, I just wear em new without altering them. I do leave the stickers on.

In high school used to keep bill completely flat with all stickers on even the price sticker now prefer a broken in/authentic look like MLB players or like the Mets and Dodgers guys. Could never go back to my old style lol

I wear my on field 59fifty royals hat sometimes.
I get my hats just a little bit small and wear it nonstop until I can't anymore so it curves to fit my head then I curve it a little more. Then I wear it for a few days so it can stretch out. In the event that it doesn't I make 2 vertical slits in the sweatband toward the back of the hat. Usually fits like a glove after that.
Both New Era and 47 Franchise are the best hats I've ever warned their both cool and better hat brand's than others New Era and 47 Franchise you guys are the best thank you😊✌

You need a big head to fill a 59Fifty. If it is too large, try a 59Fifty low crown or a 39Thirty.
I just wear the la dodgers hat it goes with everything and be sure to curve it 👍🏻

You can lower the crown by heating it up with a blow dryer and molding it to your head.

+jason alcaraz I would've agreed with you before, but after buying a 39thirty, I see there's a huge comfort difference between buying your actual size and buying a stretch cap. Also, 59fifty crowns are taller than 39thirty's even after breaking-in.
What everyone is saying is based onto their personal preference. I think the guy in the Red Yankees cap had the BEST curve.
