  • I decided to take the time to forge something interesting again.
    I likely spent more than 60 hours on the dragon and video.

    You used welding in blacksmithing! GASP! CLUTCH PEARLS! Like it wasn't the blacksmiths who were the first ones to use welding technology.

    Wieder ein Interessantes Projekt von dir . Beim Kopf habe ich mir noch gedacht das wird später Probleme geben , du hättest den vielleicht doch Feuerverschweißen sollen . Es wäre fein wenn du einige Maße mit angegeben hättest ... Morgen wollte ich mal den anderen Drachen versuchen , die Flaschen hatte ich schon mehrmals gemacht ...

      Das Schweißen des Kopfes verlief nicht gut und ich hätte wissen müssen, dass es später Probleme geben würde.
      Und meistens verwende ich für diese Art des Schmiedens nicht wirklich Maße.

    Wonderful work! Do you think it would be easier to forge the head separate and weld it on to the body? That way you can keep the detail of the whiskers away from all the vibrations of forging the body and not risk them breaking.

      The reason the whiskers broke was because the weld on the folded head was not good.
      And thus there was a cold shut in the steel.
      And welding the head on later could be done but it's just a lot more work and might end up ugly if the welding and finishing is not done well.
