    Really good to watch, lovely piece of work. I did think though that the 'dragon twist' was done a bit too cold and I was afraid it might snap. The first time I ever did one was purely for practice thankfully. It snapped. So when I made my dragon, I made damn sure it was glowing when I twisted it.

    You used welding in blacksmithing! GASP! CLUTCH PEARLS! Like it wasn't the blacksmiths who were the first ones to use welding technology.

      Und meistens verwende ich für diese Art des Schmiedens nicht wirklich Maße.

      Beetje oude olie voor de glans en roest preventie.

    Wonderful work! Do you think it would be easier to forge the head separate and weld it on to the body? That way you can keep the detail of the whiskers away from all the vibrations of forging the body and not risk them breaking.

    • @ForgedInHolland
      @ForgedInHolland  5 месяцев назад +1

      The reason the whiskers broke was because the weld on the folded head was not good.
      And thus there was a cold shut in the steel.
      And welding the head on later could be done but it's just a lot more work and might end up ugly if the welding and finishing is not done well.
