It's not useless. See Trigger is actually 1/4 mole person and even though he is fused into his cockpit via the brain stem he needs to be able to find his way underground or into underground-like environments during moments of stress.
I did the Tunnel fly through during campaign mission 16, the one where you have to escort the car. They put a surprising amount of detail on that little car, and you’ll normally never get close enough to see it.
Well I guess fighter jets are their daily vehicle and every civilian should have one so they can join the fight when needed. Considering the amount of payload a plane could carry.

A hitbox is an anti-lag/latancy tool for online games only. You will experience hitboxs in Smash, and Call of duty - they are red boxs around a active mesh. Ace combat has well defined spacial mapping. Spacial mapping is easily defined. If i asked you to make a tree and you had 3 sticks you could but you could clearly make a better tree with 200 sticks. The reason games are looking better right now is because were legitimately saying, this is the speed of light, its bouncing off something with a depth of this, that reflects this if x happens, 60 to 120 times a secound.
I’m always amazed how many places in ace combat have a good hit box and let you fly through them, despite 99.9% of people never ever doing it, even on accident

And the Title Screen was Different then official But BETTER As it had Much Louder Jet flying sfx XD Even though it only let you kill the bombers in the First mission it was Quite an Experience to Enjoy a beta Gameplay I guess I was lucky enough to Download it off the MarketPlace before it was Fucking deleted :/ 🤷♂️ hopefully I still have it as I haven't been able to play my 360 in a while Also I wish Ace7 had a Playable Beta Demo which would have made Sense as they had a Hard time making the darn game but whateves

Imagine driving down that bridge fast while late for work one morning and you forget the highway ends and all traffic is supposed to take the exit ramp..
There seems to be an offramp at that end of the ro...I mean tunnel, but from that angle and width, the traffic flow and accident rates there in peace times should be a much worse nightmare than the war itself.
Is it sad that I flew through that using the F22 during the mission to avoid rockets and know exactly how to get to that area from the mission start point
This is a reasonably accurate recreation of the Yokohama Bay bridge which also has the lower deck end at a turnoff although not quite so abruptly as this.
It's cool and all but about these empty highway tunnels.. I like to imagine that that city got evacuated so bad that there isn't even cars on the highways anymore
No wonder this game was in development hell for so long. They were busy making the geometry perfect.

I remember flying along Comberth Harbour's bridge in AC4, PA never skimped on hitboxes and textures.
You can also fly along the bridge in Oured in the final mission of AC5

According to another comment that area is for parking lots (usually for police), and the main traffic goes the other way
