The sound of the 45’s brings back a lot of great memories - can remember well the ‘99 UGP when Joey beat DJ on the V&M R1 on his old 45. Joey had that bike absolutely singing that day 🎶
"say hello Neal you are on the vlog".......................................................................................................Bollocks.............🤣 Neal is a gem and needs to be protected at all costs. 😅
I’ve just completely overhauled my RC30. Even fitting new HRC Kit pistons, Beryllium copper valve seats etc, etc. Super careful running in now in progress.
Forgotton how good the RC45 sounds...they both sound the dogs bollocks...our local bike whisperer in Plymouth Crispys Motorcycles a former racer does bloggs on the Dyno and I love seeing all the detail..the performance upgrades he can get out of factory bikes is incredible...it can never be boring...👍👍
That sound ❤. Love the rc45s, they came out the year I passed my bike test, watching slightly mixing it with Foggy and Scott Russell, I couldn’t afford one back then, definitely can’t afford one now 😂
I saw that at the Paris to dakar one of the oil sponsors has a truck and they'll diagnose your engine oil to see any types of debris and pieces of metal etc to tell if anything in the engine isn't working right or wearing incorrectly. High tech shit I'm wayyyy behind the times I still use a clutch even
The second 45 sounded sweeter than the first. Wouldn't really expect the fancy fuel to make any more as without optomising for the higher octane (running more timing mainly) it offers no advantage. Very cool to hear them at full chat!
I worked at John Halls Honda in Blackpool when this bike was launched. We got one into our shop and it felt like a real privilege. Think it was up for £18,500 when we got it in, which was ridiculous at the time. Gorgeous bike, I took great pleasure in cleaning it.
A mate bought an sp1 in 2000 paid about $20000.00 australian I paid $17500.00 for a new r1 in year 2000 , in 2004 it took about 2.5 Aussie dollars to 1 British pound
What an eargasm Lee! Would of loved to of heard the SP2 hit the high notes but damn, just amazing. When the weathers half decent i always pass a guy in my little Berlingo van in the next village along on my way to work on a VFR800, always wind the window down a bit for the V4 gear driven symphony...
Great vlog Lee, Rc45’s sound amazing. Would love to see you giving it a go round Scarborough on one this year? They were always the weapon of choice round there in the 90,s and the noise they make rattling through the trees is amazing.
Hi Lee. Great video. I ride with a mate who has the SP2. It has 2 brothers cans on & is like thunder on the road. All the best for the coming season. From a Multistrada rider. (Love V twins). Regards. Steve.
Another top Vlog 👍 thanks for sharing the dyno runs. Love that second rc45!! Not that i don't love the 1 your using for the classic!! Just the 2nd sounded alittle bit phatter. Always cool to hear classic bikes. Hope that meal from Neil tasted sweet. Look forward to the vlogs from testing. All the best 👊
That sound is so unique. I know they are pretty rowdy but they sound quite tame😅 (SOUND) Just this smooth midtone. My bike makes my ears bleed at full crack. I wear headphones or earplugs under my helmet or your ears will ring like a bell🤣
still got a ratty nc30/nc35 mongrel , so i hear that type of sound track everyday still, note to self need more open pipes gotta sort out my the rusted tank so i will just come listen to this every day till it rides again :)
Great vlog....love sound and tech details, the kit RC read out seemed a drop off curve at max compared to the Race one...lost that when you changed fuel, good to see Frank I remember his Dad racing locally to me
i new all V+M staff ,i live down the road im 98% sure at the time the RC45 was out and being raced by carl fogaty / john koincki / hrc the early / mid 90`s there engine tuner / builder at v+m should have been DAVE MELLOR . im also sure all HONDA BRITTAN rc45 wear tuned / built by TONY SCOOT ??? !!!!
Hi Lee, sorry for yet another question😂 but have you got any merch coming up for sale? Bobble hats and jackets and things? That Ashcourt Jacket you was wearing in this video, any chance of them going up for sale?! Cheeers mate
That SP2 sounds 😍 be mint to hear it flat out at the classic TT!!! Also…… when are we seeing this years helmet man I’m running out of patience Lee haha 🤘🏼
Music to my ears❣️ Some good old Classic Rock🔈🎶 🤟 Too bad you couldn't set one of your bikes up on a dyno in front of your garage during race weekend, charge $ for a "ride!" 🤤🤠
About 14 years ago I came across a Honda race bike that was sized for a 12-13 year old. It wasn’t one of those ”pocket bikes”. It wasn’t a street legal bike at all and it was to small for an average adult. I’ve tried looking for it online to figure out what it was but don’t know what to look for I guess. The only youth size race bikes I see, seem to be the size of those “pocket bikes” for younger kids. Any idea what I may be talking about? Maybe a specific racing classification I may find something similar? Thanks for the help.
@@Leejohnston I might to some but to me would of been interesting to see how you run eg the rings and cams and other things I am just a petrol head like that mate
I always loved the sound of the 851/888 when my mates were loving the inline 4 stuff as a teen. Does still make me giggle a bit that we basically got Japanese Ducati's in the fightback...
Effin brill, my rc8r probably puts out more, I'm sure Niell would be happier working on that. Ps, push biking comments from Alicante, artic unit coming up behind you,? Get out of my way
The sound of the 45’s brings back a lot of great memories - can remember well the ‘99 UGP when Joey beat DJ on the V&M R1 on his old 45. Joey had that bike absolutely singing that day 🎶
A whole 250cc less. Stuff of legend. Only Joey could've served DJ like that. 👍
That was a race and a half !!
"say hello Neal you are on the vlog".......................................................................................................Bollocks.............🤣
Neal is a gem and needs to be protected at all costs. 😅
He is getting worse
RC 45 still looking good . What an awesome bike it was when it was launched. This is a collector's masterpiece
I’ve just completely overhauled my RC30. Even fitting new HRC Kit pistons, Beryllium copper valve seats etc, etc. Super careful running in now in progress.
Hi Lee, as a vfr750 owner I love this.

Great stuff, I am going to hook the laptop up to my Bose 501`s and give it some when I have an empty house!
That's a great idea! 🤣
Looking forward to hearing the SP2 on full tilt 👊😜, great coverage Lee 👍
You and me both
Whoever tunes the first bike (even the 2nd) did a bang on job.

Two of my favourite Hondas in one vid, on the dyno... bliss. Thanks for sharing.
Grate Blog again you are living my Dream keep them coming 👍
Thank you! Will do matwv
Very glad the dyno crew know their stuff and are checking in build up for all the readings. Going redline on super lean could well be bye bye engine.
Always loved the sound of a Honda V4
Rc51. The most beautiful y2k honda bike. My second favorite is the suzuki TL1000R. Love the sound of the Japanese twins.
Yep the TL1000R sounds fantastic I have twin yosys on mine.
the TLR was an ugly looking thing. sounds good but gosh it's ugly as hell.
That sound ❤. Love the rc45s, they came out the year I passed my bike test, watching slightly mixing it with Foggy and Scott Russell, I couldn’t afford one back then, definitely can’t afford one now 😂
Those RC45s sound gorgeous, saw a few wsb races when Aaron Slight was racing - best sound there. Thanks for the vlog 👍🙂
Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the SP2. Beautiful V2 sound. Greggs at Rivington one of my favourite stopping points!
Couldn't agree more
Love all the inside information thanks keep up the great work stay safe
Thanks for watching
Very interesting and beautiful... Not Neil!... the bike's 👍🏴
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Awesome!!!! Back in the day the 500 2t GP bikes made more power and lighter. Reminds me of Joey hearing the rc45 and Edwards on the SP.
Always liked the sound of the V4 Hondas
I love free dinners especially on a technicality 👍❤️💪
Who doesn’t lol
Thanks Lee
Another great vlog RC45 and SP2 two awesome and iconic bikes

Great vlog again 👌 the dyno runs were brilliant both 45’s making good power from a standard 120bhp ✊✊

Wot was that in the tank ? "Tea leafs" 🤣🤪 🇳🇿
Haha no broken down tank foam

Best description yet lol
The first rc45 I heard was nick Jefferies at the mount, what a noise. Sounds like a rabid wolf.
Great vlog Lee, Rc45’s sound amazing. Would love to see you giving it a go round Scarborough on one this year? They were always the weapon of choice round there in the 90,s and the noise they make rattling through the trees is amazing.
That might happen
Gotta love that V4 burble. Bit of a sucker for a V4 but the RC45 is a unicorn.
Still... the NC30 and 35's are amazing for what they are. =]
Beautiful bikes all three of them with sounds to match
Agreed lol
RC45, Still IS one of the Best Sounding Race Bikes Ever !!

Sounds great Lee nice to hear again sounds better than the tunes in Kelly's portrush years ago when I went 😀 👍 lol

The long Akrapovic’s look sweet on the SP
Was the gearing the same on the two RC s and would it make a difference on the Dyno anyway??? 👍👍👍
Great vlog once again Lee!

What and how did that get in the tank?
Hi Lee, when will you know if the NW200 is actually going to run? How much notice do they give you, a rider?
Nice video Lee, how come they both RC30’s have duel carbon exhausts, that wasn’t standard was it ?
No mate both bikes couldn’t really be further from standard
Narthen.. when #13 Rc30 comes on cam😊......

Good question 🤣
