I believe the statement regarding the center of gravity being higher is incorrect. Having owned a GL1200 and a GL1800, I will boldly state that the optimum center of gravity is somewhere between those two bikes, favoring the 1200 over the 1800. The 1200 was the evolution of what was learned from the 1000. They lowered the engine in the 1200 for improved stability and it absolutely made the bike more planted and safer to drive. If you lost the rear in a corner, you had all day to get it back under control before the bike went down. In contrast, if you loose the 1800, it will slam you to the ground. You can't push the bike, because point of no return is a sharp precipice that occurs with no warning. Yes, it makes the steering lighter and maybe easier to enter a corner, but you have no feel and the bike lacks inherent stability. While it was ok to raise the center of gravity compared to the 1200, they raised it too far and made the bike unstable.

If you are talking about a cruiser, then a longer bike with a lower centre of gravity will certainly make the bike more stable, conversely it will also make it less nimble and less easy to brake quickly, because there is less weight transfer to the front wheel with a lower C of G. In ultimate performance terms a higher C of G is preferred, but for a cruiser, stability is obviously a better characteristic.

What I found: (motor cross action mag) "In theory, the answer is nothing, but in practice, there are major differences. Whereas Husaberg tried to move the rotating mass of the engine’s crankshaft closer to the center of gravity by flipping the engine up and over, Yamaha angled its cylinder backward to get the rotational inertia of the cams nearer to the sweet spot, but not the crankshaft. ... places the rotating mass of the crankshaft closer to the bike’s center of gravity. With the rotating mass closer to the center of gravity, the torque effect on the chassis is greatly reduced. In layman’s terms, Husaberg put the part of the engine that wreaks havoc on handling as close as possible to the place where it will have the least effect on handling. Simple but clever.
The drawback is that Husaberg moved the heaviest parts of the engine upwards (and when gravity kicks in, you can feel it)."

The half fairing shown in this video will however look a bit too extreme to most people. Do however have a CLOSER LOOK! It suggests there is no conventional front fork but a rather peculiar leading link and / or parallelogram design underneath. That would however make it even more difficult to sell. I had a similar idea, only crank down and build a VR8 basically. With individual heads with tubes for the cams and even considered two, (counter rotating) cranks! With two intake systems, carbs or sequential EFI, with single throttle twin plenums, or, a inverted two stroke V8-v12 using something similar to CR80 cylinders, to yz125-250 cylinders 12 cylinders may be a bit much, nearly 1000cc of 2,stroke x engine, inverted, with nearly 100cc per cylinder, using a stroker crank push the displacement closer to 98- with a crank case breathing v or vr12
Narrow angle 12 cylinder and having an opposed cylinder would be cool like having a double action 6 cylinder, the cylinder fires, piston is fired down, then fired back up!! Even a 8cyiinder would be cool.. especially with crank getting air fuel and lube straight on it, with up to 8, 250-350 cc. Cylinders add some stroke it should get about 20cc+/-, adding about 12mm additional stroke, it could be 50cc, additional, and I'd never know.. haven't done the maths! With a minimum frame, carbon rims, 300hp should be possible at a weight of 325-400 lbs +/- especially if air cooled a engine with 6 Cylinders up, 6 down.. with the carbs or EFI spraying from the front into the crank case with a transmission on the opposite side with exhaust on the back with 4 silencers ,or. Even with 4up, 4down offset enough for a sealed crankcase under each cylinder or two cranks counter rotating with about 2mm of aluminum between the crankcases. A flat 8 would likely be better fitting wise, unless using 50-80cc cylinders . 😮

I don't like it from watching him cornering, the low CoG of a normally mounted bike counter acts the high CoG of the rider, inverting the engine just pushes the CoG of the bike higher, the tyres will break traction before a conventionally mounted engine bike, no? Yuck,I Don't like Trail Bikes or anything top heavy. Hondas 1000cc delivers 180hp , that's 800cc less and producing 20hp more.

What is that 2" of travel on the front? Lowering the rotational weight makes sense but it must raise the center of gravelty.

Interesting concept of a bike , I usually moan about background music myself but didn't find it overwhelming in this vid , too interested in the facts you were conveying.. As this concept is intriguing and unusual, absolutely shocked though at the suggested retail price, overall I enjoyed the vid, thank you

it's pretty cool, but the proportions are off. the tank looks too big, and the ones that have that front faring look ridiculous. i don't know, 70k for a novelty seems kind of dumb.

Beauty is completely subjective and can massively change to the beholder based on relized flaws or perfections. This motor hits me as BUTT ugly however as i heard the claimed power and weight I realize it could dramatically grow on me if I were allowed to ride it and it was able to delight me. I have had the privlege of knowing women I originally thought were homely or even down right ugly but then as I spent more time with them eventually they transformed into truly beautiful highly desirable women! And the opposite has also been sadly true when an at first stunning woman quickly became hideous in my eyes simply because she was such an ugly person...all filed under "ya really can not judge a book by it's cover',,,,my 2 cents

The more money than brains club, are the only ones who will buy it. And a great chance they can't use the power it makes, end up getting smoked by a 6oo CBR in every corner. They are a long way from being able to sell these to bikers, only some rich dude who want's it to say he has one.

As others have noted, a weird mish-mash of accents and choice of words, and the music doesn't add much. Bike is a really interesting concept. Want to like it more, but it's such a prototype. Lots more needs to be done before it could be called 'beautiful' as it was called in the video. Pipe and cables need better routing/hiding and the intake and exhaust need to be much more stylish before this can come together as a cohesive package.

Locating rotating mass (gyroscope effect) HIGH in the frame?? And that chain position is going to cause rear suspension loading issues with acceleration and braking.
