It's great to hear you singing more, Carl! Keep up the good work. I always try to work out a song using your lessons just to keep from getting rusty. And you always seem to figure out the difficult spots better. This is more than learning a song for me, it's a general guitar education. Thanks again!
Great job.. well explained... Of all the songwriters and musicians in the entire world.... only Lennon could have written this.. and only Harrison could have enhanced it so melodically beautifully. The Beatles at their very, very best. Just superb.
That's perfect. Thank you. I think that many Beatles fans or just guitarists today do realize how good George was. George often said if he hardly practiced and if he had he could have been really good lol. George was "really good".
Thank you Carl for the cover & detail you provide in this song lesson. You really help a beginner to be able to play something musical...helps get past the frustration points in my journey of learning how to play the guitar. 🙏🙏👍🏽👍🏽
I just watched "Get Back" and had to learn this. I saw the riff George did to start this and thought I had to learn that. You're my favorite guitar instructor. Your pace is perfect. No story to start. Play it once, maybe twice, then on to the next part. I can pause and repeat if I choose. I started playing when I was 17, am 56 now. Mainly just noodle now. I also have a new respect for the Beatles. They were just a bit before my time as I was more a Zeppelin fan. But man! Their melodies! Good God! Just beautiful! And very satisfying to play! I'm sure they understood music theory, but also feel they just tried different shapes and went for the sound and the feel. "Get Back" showed they worked ALL DAY trying different things. peace
I just came back to finish this. Great vid as usual! Great pace and no story and straight to it. I learned "Lenny" SRV from you as well. Man I love Georges parts in this. Just beautiful!
I was just working on a completely different {almost} all-encompassing tutorial for a different instrument/different song and I thought "why do they always fall short, it seems almost every tutorial for any instrument always falls short from being correct!" They always need fine tuning. ...and I just wanna say, my after thought was... "except Carl Brown...that dude always teaches things the right way!" It's probably honestly a rabbit hole and you have to choose how far to go down to express every subtle nuance of guitar playing. It wasn't a particular thought for this song, but more of a general memory of things I've learned on this channel, so I came to the last song I learned from you to comment, and say as far as I'm concerned you do it right, and I appreciate your diligence.
Wow really great guitar work...would have taken months to dissect Great interpretation!!! Congrats to you keep up the great work...I could never understand what George was doing the first time around on his riff but now I have a Greater understanding of what was played and how to play it...I'm sure Paul has a great Bass line following George!!!
Hey Carl. This is my favorite Beatles song. I have been trying to learn it for 8 months, but could never find a good enough video to learn from. This is an awesome lesson. Thank you so much for putting this together
Hey I love your playing and the way you teach. I’ve been trying to learn 5150 by Van Halen for a long time but just can’t seem to get it. Would you do a tutorial for me, the way you teach makes it really simple and I think it might help me. 5150 by Van Halen!
A little off subject, but what is the best way to tuck to pick away the pick, when you switch to finger style and back to guitar pick. Bryan Setzer does it really well, but I don't know if he does lessons.
I love this channel, you have helped me a lot to become a better guitarist. Thank you so much. I have a request and it’s the acoustic (or chords) part of Exist by Avenged Sevenfold. There are no good lessons on this song and it would mean the world for us the mortals if you broke it down.
Hey man , Thanks you for your lessons , I've been looking to learn Megadeth - Reckoning day , but there isn't any good video like yours , again thanks you a lot for your effort !
The Beatles played "Don't Let Me Down" faster in the live rooftop performance than you hear it on the record. George Martin, their producer, took their live performance and slowed the speed of tape for the single. The slower tape speed explains the druggy feel or mood of the single. Indeed, George Harrison's guitar, the lattice-work details, are gorgeous. I also love his walking figure in the middle eight. I'd love to see just the tape from the camera aimed at George during the rooftop performance. He played a lot of hot guitar in those forty-two minutes. I want to see his hands and fingers at work on the strings and frets.
I hate it when songs have more than 1 guitar since I can't play them correctly, but it also makes them sound so good, it's like playing a piano with a hand on high chords and the other on low chords
if you're not playing live on the stage and just jamming in your bedroom or wherever you're at just playing along to a track you just pick a part and find out where it is and play..when I try to play some Lynyrd Skynyrd live the times with the triple guitar attack and more I just try to get myself to fit in somewhere that's all you got to do trying to have more guitars and lots of layering make sound a whole lot better.. play in bridesmaids is a good one I play run to you the problem Brian did a lot of the guitar that runs the main rhythm and Keith Scott does a lot of the lead in Phil's so basically I just tried when I play along just to make it fit in..but I agree with you it is hard when you got more than one guitar or one person layering on three or four or numerous guitar parts mixed in
Those lead bits are so subtle, yet so gorgeous! Harrison was underrated!
Not underrated...just in a band with Lennon and McCartney.
Great job Carl. I like it when you sing the lines. Helps put everything in context.
I agree ^^

playing that run run 15:06 - 15:20 brought tears to my eyes. Just beautiful. George!
