I had the same issue with the lower arm sleeve, and did the same with the die grinder. Not that big of a deal, since I'm not in a hurry to finish it. Now for the sway bar issue. I did a lot of measuring and test fitting, because mine will be a trail truck, and at droop, it hit the sway bar while turning both directions. The fix is easy. Drill a new hole 1 inch lower than the extended hole(the new one at the top), and on both sides of course. Any lower, and it gets too close to the steering boots.
Customer service is trash and the a arm bolt issue is dumb AF for the price of the lift...we are in the middle of dealing with it as well.. checking videos to see what others did . Great video thanks for posting
Most “affordable” lift kits will have a couple issues but we had quit a few. It does have some major clearance and ride quality benefits compared to other lift kits for the Colorado.
I’m glad you guys made this video honestly. Just trying to make my truck a little more capable and there’s not much love for these 355’s. Also planning on a V8 swap once the 5cylinder decides to take a shit. Subbed just to see where you guys take this truck 👍.
No more content on this bad boy? What exactly will you need to swap over for the bigger brakes from 2009? So far I got the rotors, pads and calipers. Will I need also the caliper brackets or are they the same?
I actually sold the truck. It sounds like you have all the necessary parts to do it. The only thing you may have to do is bend the dust shield. The brackets are all the same.
Any issues with the knuckle and ball joints touching the side wall of the tire? I got some 16X8S with 285/75S just sat it out n the ground and the ball joints on the tire
I just discovered the sway bar issue last week.
Drilled and slotted rotors are just for looks they give no advantage from regular rotors. They have less surface area for braking power. Also the cooling factor with the holes is useless its just for looks. All standard rotors have built in vents on the edge. Same concept for the last 43 years
What a shit kit, the issues and design really are turning me away, may not do a lift at all. Poor quality and fitment. Thanks for doing this video, looks like you saved me a lot of hassle. The v8 option makes these pretty cool and fun to drive little trucks.
Great video! We would love to do a collab with your channel using any of our kits if you're interested! -TORCH
We would love too! Please email us at fboiproductions@gmail.com
years ago I went with the Rancho 4". Glad I went with that after seeing this. Still, great video, much respect.
Thank you!

Don't think I've ever seen a frame that clean on a first gen Colorado, hell mine looks like swiss cheese
Great video brother, and howdy from local 20

I'm doing same stuff I got the motor out and ready for the 5.3 I would like to do the lift with the motor out but I'm going for LT 315
Seems like a lot of customization for a full kit. Are you disappointed in the Skyjacker lift?
For the '09-'12 brake upgrade, what parts do you need other than the rotor and caliper? Or are those the only 2 parts you need?
My truck looks more high to the left side, how can I repair that problem 😢
Adjust the preload on the torsion bars. Tighten the low side or loosen the high side. Just make sure you still have good thread engagement.
Damm I was planning on using this lift for my truck but seems like you guys ran into a decent amount of issues.

Thanks man, stay tuned well have more content on the truck!
Wheels and tire specs
Is that truck available for sale?

Did skyjacker ever get back to you on issue?
No they haven’t responded
Any issues with the knuckle and ball joints touching the side wall of the tire? I got some 16X8S with 285/75S just sat it out n the ground and the ball joints on the tire
I didn’t have any issues. Do you know the offset or backspacing on the wheels?
It's gotta be ET10 ..I think that's -10, I'm pretty sure I need spacers for it.
I believe you need 4.75 inches or less of back spacing
Can you link the lift kit you used in the comments
skyjacker.com/shop/suspension-lift-kit/cc409ks-4-in-suspension-lift-system-with-rear-leaf-springs/
Seems like you might what you look at a different life considering this kit seemed like a mess and untested by the manufacturer.
What’s the specs on the rims n tires bud? I really like the look
17x8.5 0mm offset
Will it fit on a 2wd z71 with torsion bars
If you have torsion bars the lift kit should work. I would also call skyjacker to double check.
Were you able to resolve the sway bar issue? I ran into the same issue, sway bar is off for now
I haven’t done anything with it yet. I’ve just been running it with out one, but hopefully soon.
@@FBoiProductions 10-4. Thanks! Same with me lol

@@nevrenufhp thanks for the info! Ive been driving around with no sway bar. Ill try it out soon thanks!
Is it a 4wd or 2wd?
4wd

With the lift and tires, has mpg or power declined? Wanting to do the same to my 2.9l
It has 4.10 gears so it didn’t feel too sluggish but it gets about 15-16 mpg
I HATE TO BE THE GUY but hopefully am not to annoying here when I ask I have a 2010 canyon how much more or less would this cost to do to my truck?
Should be the same cost, I don’t believe anything changes
@@FBoiProductions and how much is the cost??
@@alfonsopadron3875 the lift is around $2200 and the wheels and tires are about $2500
