That's how my 2012 is. I run 265/65/r18, I could probably go another inch with a little bit of rubbing on hard turns. Rides great but I put a topper and drawers in the bed so the back is weighted down a bit. I bought a Tuff Country 4" suspension lift to level it back out and beef up the rear springs/shocks. Hoping to upsize the tires too. I'm going to get it done in a couple weeks (next payday) can't wait, really exited.
@@frankgar4560 good. Waiting for tires to wear out. And then gonna try 33's. Took it through some Michigan two tracks, did great. Rides really nice, pulls rv good. ( Small rv)
@@briansantos2206 when I say another inch I am talking about tire size not rim size. You can put 20" on there with low profile tires. I ended up lifting it 2 more inches and putting 33x11x17 tires. I had to trim a little plastic in the well, everything was clear, but on hard turns or big bumps it would rub.
If I want to lower do I need to do anything besides loosen the key? I saw someone post that you need spacers between the front differential and frame to lower it.
Hey quick question dude did u loosen the bolt to get the lift or did u tighten them up to get the lift I’m confused I’m not sure if u should loosen the bolt to get my ride hight up or tight it up
I bought heavy duty leaf springs from SD truck springs, upped the payload capacity to 1600 lbs. I needed new fabtech shocks, and I also installed airlift air helper springs. Maybe 3 or 4 inch lift.
I was wondering cause doesn’t it cause the tops of your tires to be spread out further than the bottoms of the tires… If you crank your torsion bars? …(If your looking straight at the front of the truck)

How did that go

I’m assuming 20” wheels are out of the question if you’re running 18’s w/ some rubbing?

I’m running the same size tire on my 2011 Colorado and need to bring up only 1” to level with the rear. How many turns on the torsion bar to get this?
For those who didn’t catch it, he said “8 turns on both sides”. 4:40
Gday mate. Nice vid... well spoken and you cut out all the bs and got down to it. Cheers mate.
Thanks man 🤝
Thank you buddy really appreciate it nice video everybody can put the tires do the best body
I have my colorado on 285/45/22s and I wanna squat it for free so this helps
How many turns did yo do. I have a 2004 Colorado and I want to do this for sure
Great video. If you need a differential drop or ball joint spacers hit us up.
Will do 👍🏻
don't take it up to high this blew out both my front axels
I heard that is a problem turning up the torsion bars. I decided not to do it on account of all the side effects it creates.
Was your alignment messed up when you blew your front axels
U need spacers between front differential and frame to drop it down
If i want to lower mine two inches... do i need spacers? I was just going to turn the torsion key
Only for 4wd that’s no coil springs my Colorado 2004 2wd is totally different
Why didn't you show as you're turning it and doing it to make it do that
Would I need a jack again if I want to lower it back? I moved cities so I don’t have my equipment
Does the truck have to be jacked up off the ground
This is awesome , can this be done on any Colorado ?I have a 08 LT
I’m wondering the same thing. Did you ever find an answer?

I'm under my 2012 Colorado right now. And I can't find that torsion key anywhere. Mines RWD. is yours 4x4?
No torsion bars on a RWD.
Can I do the same for my 2022 colorado
Did you spray paint your rims, I seem to have the same rims and are thinking about spraying them black
Thanks and great video!
I plasti dipped them, I would recommend spray painting them instead tho
@@jessehortin9091 definitely plan on spraying them thanks for the tip✌️
Hey quick question dude did u loosen the bolt to get the lift or did u tighten them up to get the lift I’m confused I’m not sure if u should loosen the bolt to get my ride hight up or tight it up
You tighten them, I would start by doing 6 turns on each side and go from there
I was thinking the same thing, I’m glad you asked
Did your alignment get messed up ?
I did for 2 inches lift but something stared to hit on front the truck when tires meet a little hole and/or very little rocks
The the bump stop bottoming out so you probably want to turn both sides down a few turns.
So You think 2 inches are excesive? I ll let for one &half tomorrow. Tks dude
@@Yo-zr7dy it’s really the tighter you go the stiffer the ride
Shocks are too short
How many turns did you to? And did you tighten the torsion bar or loosen it? I would assume tighten
Tighten and 6- 8 turns depending on how high you wanna go
@@jessehortin9091 alright thank you
I'm a 4x4
How stiff does it ride in the front?
Really not any different than before, maybe just a little
I have a rwd I don’t think it has torsion bars
For that they have puck kits for cheap online
I have a 2006 Chevy Colorado z71 that’s RWD but it has torsion bars
What size are the tires your running
I think it’s like a 29/30 inch tire
30 by?
Do I need to car jack truck in order to do this ?
Yes and do it by the frame
Would this help to put 33s without rubbing?
It would be close, I’m guessing you would have to do some trimming in the front to make it clean when turning
Is there a way to lift the back too??
Yes, on Amazon you can get lift shackles or maybe even lift blocks. Either way they are pretty cheap

Oh wait you said eight turns right?
It’s really just about how high you want it. The more you tighten it the higher it will be but the more stress on parts
2012 Chevy Colorado wt?
Yes
Did you need a alignment after?
Would recommend
I was wondering cause doesn’t it cause the tops of your tires to be spread out further than the bottoms of the tires… If you crank your torsion bars? …(If your looking straight at the front of the truck)
Is it 4wd or rwd
I would assume 4wd because the fronts not angled lower but who knows he might have a leveling kit
Это ISUZU-D max.
How many turns did you do each side?
8
