The lady of the house and the maid too, both of them are right in their own perspective. If the lady can hire two maids, she should hire them both. There are several ways to help another being. My maid is not old, I still share work with her. I do not view her as a maid, but as another human being who is less privileged than me.God has sent me an opportunity to help someone lead a little better life by working on my house.

While watching this film tears rolled down my eyes automatically. Usha Nadkarni ji's acting is a reality which depicts the core of house maids world of uncertainty. Highly commendable work.
A sad reality in today's world. I am a film student in the USA who has spent a great deal of time in India and I am loving all these Indian short films, especially with the English subtitles. I adore Indian culture.

The housewife should be helping old aged maid than just sitting and relaxing. there is no harm if you help a bit to maids and especially if they are aged like one shown in his film.
I don't see a reason why housewives need maid. if anything, maids should "help" housewives, not the other way around

Har cheez govt ki responsibility nahi hai.. Evn after working with the same company, one becomes eligible for gratuity.. The one who keeps them on work, should also plan smthng like that if the maid have bn loyal and working since long.
In my state they are paying old-age pension, widow pension... Though the amount is very less... Something is better than nothing
Govt. can only help if everyone paid their taxes honestly. The rich hide their money and refuse to pay their fair share as well as everyone else who made a real estate transaction. Even with laws in place people want to circumvent them. The taxes is what is used to provide for such things. If people don't pay taxes then the govt cannot provide such benefits to those who need it the most.
Every time you pay a bribe, you are helping in ensuring the poor remain behind. So stop paying bribes, take a video of those demanding bribes to get official paperwork done and report them to the police, etc. Only when you the people start taking actions such as this will the whole country be helped! If you have a mobile phone you can become part of the solution to ending bribes.
Love Usha Nadkarni, no one. Could do better than her... This message is really important for govt as well as house wives....
Recently we visited India and we visited my husband's mother's helper ( I couldn't call her maid ) who is very old and paralyzed and still leaving in utter poverty. It was heart wrenching to see her situation.

There are many families that help out maid's children to get educated and get employment as well. But there are also some who simply exploit them. This video is an excellent eye opener for those who are insensitive towards other's struggles as is the husband here.
omg....what I just saw is the story with all those maids who work honestly with little remuneration. it's time people become a little kind and considerate. The movie is very well made. I am a very big fan of Usha ji

Its really horrible knowing that this happens on a regular basis . But I'm glad my parents will support our helpers for their life . They even paid for the kids education . They are more like family to me than my relatives .

Usha Nadkarni is a very polished actor and she beautifully portraited emotions here. I wish at the end the women would have stopped aaji and said that you both shall work here. this would have given a milder yet sweet ending. Overall Nice video.
I think its not about the sweet ending, but if a maid is too old & trembling to work, she can fall down any day, that's too risky. And if the maid won't work then there is no bread & butter. The situation is really depressing here. Also the Old Age is difficult to handle.

Story is indeed wonderful however that housewife should have considered that Aaji has been working with hem for past 16 years..... how could you make her jobless within fraction of seconds.... and especially when she has mentioned that if she loses job, it will be difficult to manage household

The role of a maid played by the actress was really splendid. If the maid could have done something very interesting or extraordinary inspite of her weakness then the story could have been much better ..

Living life with dignity is toughest work.sometime ppl say death scare ppl but I always think,how can death scare ?how can peace and end of responsibility scare ?
The key issue in this video is that the poor old maid has no one taking care of her. When we are babies, our parents take care of us as we are helpless. Then we grow old, most children abandon their parents and there is no one to help them when they are helpless. It needs to change and only we can change it.

this made me feel so sad, especially when the lady took out the sari and left it, as it was like giving with one hand and taking with the other. I didn't understand why she didn't say, "no maid is needed, there is a mistake"...

Every citizen whether a house maid or street vendor or even a house wife, after the age of 60-yrs, should have a small pension, enough to sustain one's daily needs.
Who will give pension , it is we who have taxable income must provide monthly income to our housemaids when they grow old. Let us think of it seriously. Only admiring mam Usha nadknis acting not enough she is pointing out our poor old maids plight. 🙏🙏

Very commendable of the producer, director to make such films, its heart touching story of old age of maids especially when they become old and have to make way for the new ones, how are they going to feed themselves especially if they don't have children or children who don't care for their parents. Keep it up. Some people who don't understand such concepts are people with no feelings

We should respect older people more. The hard times they went through to bring us up. God bless all older people in the world and not make them suffer. They should get reasonable amount to pension or govt finance help to survive in their last years of life because it not for them this world would not have been a better place. Thank God.....Here portraid, house lady is kind enough on her maid more than her husband. In reality, A number of examples are there for tortures & abuses on helpless maids for silly mistakes. Thanks for the positive message.

Very tragic. One can’t find such trusted and dedicated house help these days. This lady should have been given a regular income or support before being so suddenly and unceremoniously thrown out. Very touching and hard hitting script. Ushaji had done an excellent job.

Pension sort or retirement options should be available for maids who works for employers for more than 10 yrs, like any other professions.
Story is so nice. It touched my heart. Whatever the lady had done was appropriate because maid was over70 and able to do the work properly she needed to take rest but she was so needy and another hand the lady showed her kindness gave a sari to her but the was so compelled.

Menial work can be delegated in India. The rich can look after their loyal domestic help even after 16 years by providing employment to the children or saving in their name in an FD. The not so rich will have to let them go... The creator made them. He will look after them. Simply working in pain when old for money is a very sad sight.
