The VA needs a serious overhaul, starting with their website. You should not have to go to VA.Gov only to have to transition to MyHealthVA, etc. it should all be contained onto a singular site. Messages everything. You should also have the option to stay logged in. Next. The VA needs a flow chart. Why the hell do Vets need to bounce around the website that has links and explanations everywhere, it’s incoherent and inconvenient. A flow chart for disability. A flow chart for benefits. A flow chart for health care. Etc. It would massively simplify the process. 3rd. The VA needs to do something about its “contact us” tab. What the hell is the point of talking to someone about an issue, navigating the site, health, etc. when they end up re rerouting 1-3 times to the person who can finally answer your questions. It’s like an hour ling process of bs. Next. The VA needs to stop hunting for liars, and actually support vets. They make the process so long for what? They’re so worried about catching 1-2 liars which forces 1,000 more to wait that much longer. Stop. I’d rather a handful of liars make it through, so that everyone else gets the support, finances, and benefits they deserve. That was the Government’s side of the deal when we signed the dotted line, it’s time to uphold that standard. The VA needs to fight for ALL medical, retirement and honorable discharges, period. It’s not hard to vet out General and below discharges. Finally. Every, single, medical, retiree, or honorable discharge should immediately recieve some level of disability compensation, without question. To that point, they should all receive a no credit check, specialty contract for housing. Guaranteed. That is the way warriors have been gifted for millennia, for good reason. Only now are we fucking it up. 100% w/spouse/child is about $4100 per month. The veteran should be able to get a loan guarantee of up to 600k no questions asked at 100%. An extended contract? Easy. 4 bedroom, basement, 3-4 acre, $2,000 per month where I reside. It’s simple. Stop fucking vets, because a lot of us are waking up to the fact. And veterans are the last demographic the government wants to piss off.
I filed my initial claims myself and got 60%. I signed with an attorney to do additional claims and appeals. 60% gets you priority 1 for healthcare so now all my scripts are free… all it takes is time, the sooner you file the sooner you may get benefits. The longer it takes for VA to process means a nice back dated payment.
I felt with TWO different VSOs at my court house that had ZERO clue at their job 😡! About 6 years ago we finally got someone with common sense! As soon as he looked at my records I finally got 💯pt within 6 months! Some are good some are dumb...
@@billybly1426 True, but, with just 2 or 3 questions asked to a VSO, vets should be able to pick out the dummies. There are so many screwing up claims. When I don’t know something, I start a major research. I stopped asking other VSOs cuz I have found they don’t know what I need to know. My veterans are depending on me and it stresses me out to some degree. I’m honest & will say, “ I haven’t had a case like this before; but, I promise you, I will know the information within a couple of days.” I refuse to let my vets down.
No reason why the VA process should be this cryptic - AT ALL. What happened to transparency and accountability? We shouldn't need to go to attorneys', VSO's or anyone else... isn't that what the VA is funded by taxpayers to do --- help veterans?
Transparency doesn’t exist when it comes to VA claims whatsoever. One of the issues about accountability is the VA has ZERO accountability or oversight for C&P examiners. - Clay
No, because having a disability means thet big pharma rolls up, and that cash cow is massive. They want you on meds so that they can cash in on an endless supply of greenbacks.
After a recent visit to VFW VSO to get father in law claims filed. Absolute nightmare, combative, unprofessional etc. and this guy is the assistant director for VFW in my state. High turnover in VFW VSO reps in my area. I’m filing my next claims myself this week.
I'm a Life Member of the VFW, I used one of their VSO's. He called me a liar. I Found a state VSO (also free of charge) he went through my file, and I'm now 100%. All I can say is F the VFW, no help because, apparently, my military medical file was about 5 inches thick. Lazy putz, I guess. But I'm ok now (obviously), but I will never attend a VFW meeting again. Ever
Not the same thing but Knoxville VA Clinic has a "Vet Fest" Aug 28, 10am - 3pm. Meet VA Reps, Apply for benefits (PACT Act, Intent to File or Enroll in VA Healthcare), Toxic exposure Screenings. This is off a flyer they gave me at the clinic.
This channel is the most clickbaity/misinformation bullshit that provides damn near zero help to veterans... So Atlanta VA does and I spoke to a veteran who is going through that process right now with them. In fact, they just had their appointment pretty recent for their claim to be expedited. You can unsubscribe, dude. There are 1000s that would disagree with you and the proof is evident with the amount of those that have increased their rating and hit the P&T mark. The biggest issue I see with a TON of veterans is everyone wants the easy button but nobody wants to put the work in to build an evidence-based claim. You sound like the latter. That 1-800 # is a joke. There is no real reason to even call it because We get no awnser at all.
Still waiting on dependent claims since APRIL. Come on, VA, at least prioritize the easy shit.
I’d recommend calling the VA 1000 #. They can easily do dependent claims EZPZ
