Both are quality watches, offering different experiences. (I own both) If you visit an Omega AD, you can be treated well, and often leave with the watch you want there and then. Sometimes with a discount. And immediately lose money, so you had better like that watch. Of course, Rolex Ads are pleasant but will not sell you a watch. However, Rolex are massively available. Any of the apps/websites have more listings than any other brand, often as many as all other brands combined! So they are readily available; never understand why people moan about 3-year waiting lists. Outside of some Daytona/GMTs, many are now cheaper and instantly available. Rolex has better value retention, Omega can offer better value for money. Both are lovely brands to own and wear. And if you think your watch says something about you, I'd suggest 99% of the public couldn't care less if it was Omega, Rolex or Casio.
I have both, Omega is the only one that consistently does not perform to spec and I have to send back under warranty to get fixed. My seamaster 300m chronograph is by far the worst. Started losing 40 seconds a day out of nowhere. On a watch certified for 0 to 5 seconds a day. My aqua Terra is now doing the same thing just not as dramatic. So I’ll stick to Rolex.

I bought the seamaster pro 300 blue 2018/2019 time period and I got the submariner two tone bluesy about 2 years ago. I like both but now I put the the Omega on the oem natos for a more fun summer watch but I like the Rolex more. For me it just looks better and I like the bigger crown and legibilty as Ive gotten older. I say buy both. At the time I couldnt afford a Rolex so i bought the Omega because I got 20 Off. Now I got an OP36 candy Pink, and a Batgirl but I hope to maybe add another Omega one day.
Rolex AD's always have watches in stock. But will on sell to select customers, who are not likely to flip for a profit. Or if you purchase a few thousand dollars worth of jewellery. I don't like playing games with sales people. I can walk in to Omega any day and walk out with a watch.
If Rolex decided to make their watches without displaying the Rolex name and crown on the dial,they probably wouldn't sell many watches. Only people buying would be those who appreciate the craftsmanship.

Rolex has been my personal favorite but I have owed Omega as well. If Omega excised the He escape valve from their divers, I believe they would be more desirable
Omega if you're a dork who likes gimmicks like Snoopy and James Bond, or also if you're a self-absorbed weirdo who has a meltdown when you walk into a Rolex AD unannounced in your shorts and T-shirts, ask for a "Batman", and expect to skip ahead of 100 or so far more deserving and loyal local customers. Rolex is you love great craftmanship, a prestigious brand with great history, and the knowledge that you can still sell your watch for what you paid, should you need to.

Omega is nice enough; I own one. However, they've done the stupid gimmicks to death, their watches are all massive now, there's endless horrible versions of the Speedmaster, and they need to come back to reality with prices.

Rolex watches do seem to be more precisely made than Omega.
And omega seems to be stabbing in the dark design wise. Rolex is like Porsche, consistency of form.
