  • My friend Sam from Seance FX ( seance_fx) asked me to do a demo of his Lone Ranger overdrive in a metal context, so I plugged it in and this is the result! This thing really brought the 'Shuggah vibes for me. It makes your guitar sound monstrously big thanks to a really pleasant midrange hump, and it works all the way from a clean boost to almosttt fuzz territory. Maybe we do a giveaway?

Yo thank you! I'm a big fan of Anup. He's had a heavy influence on me as a drummer, and this drum library is from his company haha.

Awesome stuff! I was wondering if you actually tuned your Strandberg down or if you are using a pitch shifter? If tuned down, what tuning and what string gauges are you using? How do you like the tension?
    Keep up the work! 🤘

Hey man! Sorry for the late response. My strandberg is actually setup in drop F#, no pitch shifting going on here! I like to use the ernie ball 13 - 72 baritone 6 string set and throw a single 10 on top. The tension on the strand isn't awesome this low though, it doesn't have a long enough scale for super low stuff like this and I've had some issues with note dive, intonation etc. (No issues when its tuned more normally though!) I've actually just invested in a baritone 7 to do the super low stuff which will let me keep my strandberg in a tuning that it's more built for.

@@itsMEADOWS Thanks for the response! Damn, that's what I was afraid of. I currently use a pitch shifter on my Strandberg 7 to get down that low and was considering getting it set up for a low tuning like F standard but was hesitant about how the tension would feel. Would probably need like an 80 to make it half decent.
Baritone 7 should be a great solution for staying down in F#! Looking forward to hearing it.

@@chrisreyes2553 yeah it's a bit tricky. A 74 is my absolute limit, it just stops feeling like a guitar string. But you can definitely get a decent drop F# with the string gauges I mentioned. It would just depend on your tension preference and picking style as to whether it'd work for you or not!
