@@AlexanderRM1000 it's probably a plug-in or yes, mod. The randomizer server I play on has the rules of: if you're an engineer, you can build anything because you have the PDA - but only upgrade/repair if you're lucky enough to also spawn with a wrench. If you're any other class that spawns with a wrench, you may only upgrade and repair buildings (and you now have 200 metal to do so, I guess)

This also explained how in MVM, when you buy the max metal capacity, you pick up more metal from map's ammo boxes but still only 100 from dead teammate's ammo boxes. For those who don't play MVM, there is an esstential engineer upgrade where it increases your max metal capacity, up to 600. So if your carry capacity is 400, you get 200 from medium boxes (big ammo boxes still fully refill of course); and 300 if your max is 600. But the amount you get from dead teammates boxes are always 100 regardless of your carry capacity.
@@willowdrakon enemy robots do not drop ammo boxes otherwise it trivialises the point of buying ammo capacity. The building gibbs still function as normal.

2:55 Actually you can still destroy them via the destroy console command. I know because I once built a sentry as a non-engineer class through RTD and accidentally destroyed it by inputing that command (I have it bound to make engineer easier)

Like that, heavy caliber tripod designed by him, built by him, and you're best hope is that it isn't pointed at you.

i like to imagine that, in terms of lore and the actual characters, Pyro would be able to build like the Engineer i mean, it made its own flamethrower from scratch (as far as we know,) is smart enough to know how to remove sappers off of the Engineer's buildings, and in the comics (small spoilers, but it's not even that important to the actual story,) it became the CEO of an engineering company in only 6 months and managed to make everyone there millionaires in that time

I thought that that itself let you build buildings with the build command, but I guess it's because something during the class change also gave you the toolbox. The thing spy sapper when place is a building when place and is a pda because it has 100 and dies to 1 homewrecker swing which does 130 to building which is more than enough to destroy it. The jag takes 3 swings because it has a damage penalty against building. The irony of engineer's mortal enemy being closer him in terms of shared mechanics than other class in the game including pyro is amazing
