    So ironic! I just collaborated with a culinary store to do their sharpening for them as well. Great idea, especially for people who haven’t gotten their name out there quite yet.

    Great video. Would you consider making a video showing us your set up and actually going thru a knife sharpening process from start to finnish? I just bought a Kalamazoo 1"x42" Variable Position Belt Grinder and the knife makers platen. (How to install and use the hardware would be great for someone just starting.) Thanks again for all you do. Cheers.

      Yes I’m hoping to do that type of video soon. Although if you can’t wait go to Cliff Curry’s RUclips page or Stephen Sharpens RUclips page you’ll see almost exactly how I sharpen. I didn’t reinvent the wheel. I followed the setups and belt progressions of successful sharpeners.

    I would think some businesses wouldn't want the extra administrative overhead with offering a service and sub-contracting the work out. It might be easier for those businesses to refer the sharpening work to you directly.

    With greatest respect, I don't like any sub-contractor model especially if it is a store that doesnt even provide knife sharpening services. Imo, you would be better off with a drop off and pick up kiosk. Unfortunately with a subcontractor model, the customer is their customer. You become part of an arangement that makes you similar to an employee.

      So far we’ve had a very collaborative relationship. I imagine it’s different in every situation and if it’s not working out then moving on is always a possibility.
