    Love the reaction. What blows my mind is they are “The Bass Gang” but yet towards the Tomi just casually hits an E6 whistle note like it’s no big deal. Dudes are so talented.

    I think we've got a fourth contender for a cappella greats. These guys get better and better! Marwan said in an interview with Mortius that they swapped the low notes around. There are a few places where they are all hitting the same note with different techniques--inhale, growl, sub and chest. Then you add in Jonathan's false fold trick that makes him sound evil. The interview is a great breakdown if you really want to know who hits what.

    Watching first time reactions of this and watching how people loosing their mind when Jon goes *brrr* and in his false fold sub harmonics is my new hobby and it brings me so much joy.
    So many cool people who react to this and obviously are fimiliar with the Bass Gang and know a lot about (acapella) music, but most of them never heard false fold subs before and watching these actual **first time reactions** is amazing 😂

    That rumble from Jonathan is, according to Peter, a technique call 'throat bass'. It's apparently comes from vocal percussion.

    • @Leviahthon
      @Leviahthon 2 года назад +3

      it's him using his false folds. He is still using his voice, just basically using his metal grit and subharmonics to go low

    • @nereol9165
      @nereol9165 2 года назад +3

      It's called "false fold sub harmonics", but Peter isn't wrong, it's similiar (or kinda the same) as what you call "throat bass" in beat boxing. Also similar to mongolian (and other) throat singing techniques.

    • @ryanfelts9718
      @ryanfelts9718 2 года назад +1

      @@nereol9165 well throat bass is literally a subharmonic that uses the false vocals to create the undertones, so "false vocals subharmonics" and throatbass are pretty much both the same thing.

    • @dreir1321
      @dreir1321 2 года назад

      @@nereol9165 so it's a growl but using your voice too, i think that's called "vocal bass" in beatboxing

    Jonathan uses a beatboxing technique called throat bass (in the part you were trying to figure out). Pretty amazing technique. The riff (10:18) was a combination of Marwan and Jonathan. They just happened to blend so well that you can't tell that it's two people doing it. As someone else mentioned Moritus did his review/analysis with Marwan and there was quite a lot of background info about this one. Again knew you would love the bell tones. There were quite a lot of them. Love your enthusiasm for music and always enjoy your videos.
