Natives stand under the awning because they know it won't last but about ten minutes. Foreigners go out and get soaked... and later steamed when the sun comes out and boils the land.

Well, I've never lived in Ohio, But since that's the state he mentioned, I have lived in other Midwestern states, and it got every bit as hot there during the summer. However, the one Saving grace, Was while we did have tornadoes, And thunderstorms, and blizzards, The humidity was not as high throughout a good chunk of the year.

I’m in Louisiana too and I was just griping today when I had to turn my AC down to 71 “goodbye low electricity bill, I’ll see you again in anywhere between 6-8 months when I don’t have to run the AC at all times” 🙄🤦🏻♀️😂 My husband is from Pennsylvania and after living down here for the last 10+ yrs he still misses living where there were actually 4 seasons and not just hot vs cold, meanwhile I still don’t know what I’d do if “spring” and “fall” temperatures existed when they weren’t caused by a severe thunderstorm rolling in haha

Yep I live in the South I've lived in Chattanooga, Georgia, Florida and , you can't go out much after June and stay in AC till October. I don't have a clue how my ancestors endured this in the 1800's before AC was a thing. My grandmother would never turn on her AC and I would just literally melt into a chair as a child. She grew up in the early 1900's without AC and didn't much care for it. My childhood was sporadic... big stores like Woolworth would have great big black fans on the ceiling , I was always afraid they'd come after me. I remember a trip to Sears in the 60's as a child with plastic strips flying out of AC's and this was sorta of cool to see. We got one a window unit. Imagine feeling relief from humidity and heat! Now I just carry ice everywhere in the summer, wonder why the most southern states don't have icees and just literally wilt but I will say Texan heat will just fry you right on spot with zero humidity and you wish for humidity. It's that bad. Imagine not even having ice to make it thru a southern summer???? Pity those folks just live in water 24/7 .... I'm in the creek if you need me.... what you shout...
Living in Louisiana right now. It's soooooo perfect right now. Had crawfish this weekend with friends, caught and fried fish. Stood outside and actually felt chilly a little bit IN APRIL. It was awesome 😎. Now just waiting for storm front to come through that we all know is, coming and ruin everything. I can already taste the muggyness. 🥵
You know, you could, like, not have spring at all until the middle of April. When snowbanks *taller than you are* just barely begin to melt-- and then refreeze again the next day. It's beautiful. You should come see it some day. You'll probably fall over a lot 'cause the ice is *very* slippery. Oh, and that's also the time of year where you gotta start making sure you're not accidentally walking *on* the river. So much new stuff for you to think about! Fun!

Uncle Sam sent me to Ft Polk, LA a few years ago, and before then I only THOUGHT the humidity was high here in Texas at 120%

Living like I did in the south for a number of years this is so true.
Its always amazed me how South East Missouri, Georgia, and The North Carolina foot hills shared this in common.
Only 2.5 bad months. Mid December to end Feb. Then the roller coaster begins. WARM. Rain. Cold. Not as cold, less cold, warm, warmer RAIN!
