    Interesting take on tumeric relish. Excellent how to, but this isn't actually a ferment that I'm used to. I'm looking forward to trying a ferment in about a 2% brine, later this year!

    • @HappyBellyfish
      @HappyBellyfish  Год назад +2

      This can be totally fermented in 2% brine. I am quite casual about quantities , I keep putting until a voice in the back of my head says stop. 😆And my food is not salty at all🙃

    I usually have a small batch of turmeric ginger carom seeds and black pepper in lemon juice (fresh not fermented) and eat a spoonful before meals for better digestion. I need to try this out looks good :)
    I have a question they say water is the enemy for any fermentation and is always recommended to use a dry spoon while handling pickles how come water is actually added in this fermentation?

    • @HappyBellyfish
      @HappyBellyfish  Год назад +3

      Water is not the enemy of fermentation, in fact the brine fermentation happens in water. However, when the fermentation process has started already, you should indeed only use a dry and clean spoon to take it, in order to not mess with the active bacteria. I'd recommend to watch Anastasia's videos about fermentation on our channel, it may help: ruclips.net/video/aX0f6P-q24s/видео.html (2)

    • @beatcat1265
      @beatcat1265 3 месяца назад

      I would get store brand make sure it says with the mother. Bragg's brand unfortunately was sold out and I don't trust it anymore.
      I get the off brands/store brands and they have always seemed really good! Better than the Bragg's now days

    What happens if you consume too much turmeric? Tku

    • @HappyBellyfish
      @HappyBellyfish  Год назад +3

      Too much turmeric may cause acid reflux, and digestion issues, and may lead to kidney stones in certain individuals, as it contains oxalates. As a general guideline, a safe and commonly recommended dosage of turmeric powder for adults is 1-3 grams per day, which is equivalent to approximately ½ to 1 ½ teaspoons. The fresh turmeric equivalent is more or less the same.
