I cut the head and put it in water until roots grow then I have a pineapple plant. The core and head are very nutritious and healthy it’s where the bromelain enzymes are stored. Thanks for sharing
That’s right. As a nutritionist, pineapple/ bromelain helps the body in warding off dehydration if you are going to be out and about in the summer heat. Simply add some pineapple juice to your drinking water. Another fact - it takes 40 minutes from fluid ingestion to reach the cells to ensure equilibrium is maintained., If you are to be in excessive heat for long periods drink (not sip) water every 40 minutes as a precautionary practice. 😉
Very nice! I love pineapple. Will be able to use the entire fruit this way. I make sure to use the entire watermelon too. I use the watermelon peel to make a vegetable of it. It is very common in Rajasthan to do so. I also use pea shells to make a pickle and ridge gourd peels to make a chutney. Its a different level of happiness when you don't waste any part of a fruit/vegetable.
I saw a video of an Indian software engineer from Microsoft who quit his role only to go back home and make a business of selling powdered jackfruit skin. Apparently, it’s a natural suppressant for a diabetic condition.
@@charmanisenanayake4978 I cut the thick white layer just underneath the green watermelon peel along with the watermelon peel. This leaves behind only the red part of the watermelon to consume as fruit. Then I cut chunks of only the thick white layer into pieces, take some oil in a wok, add tempering to oil once hot and add the chunks along with seasoning to the wok. Cook it for 10-12 minutes and a tasty, extremely nutrient rich vegetable is ready. I eat the vegetable with rice or roti.
@puneetrai1682 the peels/skins of so many fruits are full of nutrients and have a no. of health benefits. Banana skin is very nutrient dense. I remember my Nani Ma always instructing me to eat apples and pears with their skins intact because the skins are so nutrient dense. Orange peel (powder of dried peel) has immense benefits for the skin. The core of the mango seed (one needs to dry the mango seeds/stone) and then break them open and powder the core in it). The powdered core helps lower blood pressure. I've heard about benefits of tamarind seeds and date seeds as well. We know zilch about the wonderful plant kingdom and the benefits each part of the tree(leaves, fruit, bark, gum, roots) can provide us. Bless Mother Nature!
OMgosh! I had forgotten about tepache! Thank you for your recipe, as I have secured a coupla pounds of jaggery! It may be a summer drink, but those warming autumn spices are great now too. A reminder to please use organic pineapple only! This crop is heavily doused in pesticides, and also herbicides are used...what we find in grocery stores in the USA!
I know organic produce is not accessible everywhere and might be expensive - otherwise it would be my first choice. And like a user commented earlier , you can scrub and wash the pineapple before cutting it.
you may need to add more water to keep the peels submerged. Another way is to use weights to keep the peel submerged - A ceramic quarter plate can be used for this purpose, on top of which you can use a bowl filled with water. Secondly, if it is too warm where you are staying, one day might do the job - check for the bubbles on the rim of the water.
This postmortem would be hard but let's try :) , 1) how ripe was the pineapple, if there were any obvious or not so obvious signs of rotting. Usually when the pineaples are too ripe they can also start decaying in some secions of the fruit, closer to the surface. 2) They will appear darker than the rest of the fruit. How thoroughly it was washed and cleaned - Some soil contaminants could have sneaked in. 3) Glass utensils work better in this case ,and if you have used that make sure you rinse it before use - especially after it has been used in a dishwasher. 4) It could have also overfermented- sometimes even a few extra hours can turn the drink.
Well I have used it and it didn't. There are some very dark varieties of jaggery and that may do the discoloring. The ones that have a caramel color are always my choice of Jaggery in cooking.
It works as a probiotic so I wouldn't boil, smiliar to raw kombucha. But one must be watchful that there are no mold or spores growing on it. If the drink is going bad then it will show obvious signs in smell and appearance.
Can we do this with any fruit peels like apples, pears, watermelon or honeymoon??? I don't have pineapples & I need as much probiotics possible since I'm battling hpylori 😔
I am not sure if it will work with other fruit peels. There are ferments that people make with apples and other fruits but it is a completely different process and is far more complex. There are other probiotic foods like Kefir , and kombucha that works on the same principle that you may like to give a try.
" VELElNCiO " comes from what language ? . . . .is it jaggery /molasses, unrefined natural brown Cane Sugar or Palm sugar ? ❤ Some viewers want a pause inbetween or lesser Long explanation ! Thanq 😊 ❤
Yes. Even your bread has alcohol. The Islamic idea of consumption of alcohol as sin is foolishness. Whereever you have carbohydrate sugar and yeast you will have alcohol.

I have a bog bag of jaggery! Now i have a use for it! Thank you!
That looks refreshing 🍹
I agree but what do you advice to remove pesticide residues from the piña skin?
I know organic produce is not accessible everywhere and might be expensive - otherwise it would be my first choice. And like a user commented earlier , you can scrub and wash the pineapple before cutting it.
@@HappyBellyfishhuh
Pineapple do not contain too much pesticide because insects do not attack the peel , as it is thick and hard....
Just let it soak i some baking soda water. And that is the same for all the fruit you eating.
Yes dangerous 😳 ☠️
Hi can I freeze the pineapple skin n use it later?
Well given instructions!! Making it today!!

Can i make it without sugar?
What’s the proper name of that block of sugar and where can it be purchased?
What is the shelf life
Pineapple helps reduce cough. Eat few pieces of ripe pineapple with a pinch of salt. This will remove congestion, reduces inflammation.
My tapache developed mould before it was two days. Can u help on this pls

I wonder if I could use a splash of water from my fermented cucumbers instead of sugar?
Hello Happy Jellyfish. Thanks for sharing. I tried making it but my drink seems to have a sort of slime. Where did I go wrong?

Pesticides ? How was the jaggery made in India? Bleached by aluminium and nitrate.
May God bless you so much Dear Brother. Please my Kids are very skinny, can you please help me? Thank you.
Wont the jaggery change the colour of the juice??
Well I have used it and it didn't. There are some very dark varieties of jaggery and that may do the discoloring. The ones that have a caramel color are always my choice of Jaggery in cooking.
Is it safe to drink without boiling it? no bacteria?
It works as a probiotic so I wouldn't boil, smiliar to raw kombucha. But one must be watchful that there are no mold or spores growing on it. If the drink is going bad then it will show obvious signs in smell and appearance.
Can't boil it kills the enzymes
On fermentation is it not turning into alcohol
It is almost negligible , just like an overripe fruit :)
Brilliant

Is it an alcoholic drink, sir?
It will have trace amounts of alcohol, so tiny that it is not worth mentioning it.
Yes. Even your bread has alcohol. The Islamic idea of consumption of alcohol as sin is foolishness. Whereever you have carbohydrate sugar and yeast you will have alcohol.
excellent
Is the drink alcoholic?
no
Hello what is the name of the sugar you use
It's jaggery pure cane sugar in block form
@@chombiehello3515 thanks
This sugar reminds me of some of the candy I had on Halloween!
It does taste like soft caramel.
Pineapple skin may have pesticides or the infectious cancer on it ?
Yes, One must try to use Organic vegetables and fruits to the best extent possible. And regardless, wash them thoroughly.
The core has the BROMELIN
A shorts would have been helpful. Instead of the long talk between the steps
Its a good source of alcohol👌
how to make alcohol with pineapple
If you make it without spices it will smell like old sweaty socks 👍
thank you indian pedro pascal
