The difference between a bad Mercy and a good Mercy is *wild* ngl, like it doesn’t take much skill to get some utility out of her but it takes a lot to be genuinely amazing with her. Anyone who thinks she’s just a healbot is telling on themselves and their own rank.
A skilled player will generally get way more value on most of the other supports though. Unless they’re pocketing a cracked hitscan or Pharah/Echo, Mercy is a bad pick most of the time.
I often see low elo mercys trying to revive someone and dying directly or even worse in an already lost team fight that gets the revived person even more staggerd

I think this series might be better than “Spectating Bronze”. Now we are getting to know the actual thought process. Like with spectating there is questionable decisions that could be outside factors ( getting Tinder matched, bad setup/lag, mom yelling… idk ) but this is purely “what is going on inside there head?”
Anyway Flats love these and hope to see more.

Not only does Mercy have carry potential, she might have the strongest “dual” carry potential in the game. There are few things as frustrating as throwing half your teams cooldowns into the unkillable enemy carry to finally get the kill, just to see that yellow glow from their X as they come back to life good as new and with an irritating amount of i-frames
That is why after killing their carry you should put your fett down on his/her corpses. Like IT IS MINE NOW, DONT YOU DARE!
She does have carry potential but it’s the lowest in the game, for the simple fact that, you basically can’t take it into your own hands. If you are pocketing the right person at the right time, get huge rezs, sustaining your team, that does not matter if the enemy team is simply better all around.

Ironically, the Mercy players showed that guy who had awful Mercy takes absolutely no Mercy.
Mercy does the most healing because a corpse won't do any healing. and it's pretty hard to get a corpse out of Mercy.

Flats, i love these. Not only are they very entertaining but i feel like im learning a lot from these. Mostly the not what to do and to be weary of overwatch tips videos. As a new player it's hard to tell what's good advice and what's going to make you suffer.
I have a friend that loves to play Brig, who used to counter Rein's charge like that. Thankfully, she stopped when I pointed out that she wasn't saving me at all and half the time I was still being killed by the pin, getting squished in the middle of the two shields.

Lmao if you're a good mercy you'll carry a lot of fights by making everyone immortal and dealing high damage but you need for that spatial awareness and quick reaction time to respond to everything happening
When you hear Mercy ult, that's when things get from bad to WORSE.
As a Brigitte main, that stuff in the video flew in Bronze, but once I started ranking up, I got punished hard for playing that kind of aggressive. I will say, I do love playing against Reins since I usually get a counterpin on them while their behind enemy lines. If they're not dead by the time we get up, you whip them and you have enough space. Don't fight the Rein, just deny his pins

To be fair with the last guy, flats was looking at the ana sigma talk like the guy was saying ana is a definite counter, when I think he meant she’s a “simple” counter as in she has an ability with potential to stop sigma ult, although ana herself is not a character you decide to pick to counter him, just if you’re on her you have a useful tool. Also he was giving one example so he could say that sleep dart is a “simple” counter to everything which with how he’s talking about it, makes sense, but ana could also still be a neutral pick. Obv for flats a term like that is dumb as in high level that’s just CC, CC stop thing thats the point.

12:00 now I do have a low rank, but a good thing to do in those ranks if you get charged is to bash the rein when they pin, then immediately put as much room between you and them as possible. This only works though if they’re pushing into your team, not the other way around.

I think a better one would be a fish to fight a bear
A panther is any member of the Panthera family, which includes Tigers, Lions, Jaguars, Leopards and Snow Leopards in that order of size, I think a Tiger or Jaguar would definitely not be an easy fight for a bear. Maybe winnable but not a free win for sure.

Rein main here I had a torb on my team when the enemy tank went Zarya. For some reason she was melting us then I realized his turret was shooting her when she was in bubble boosting her dmg

Personally when I play Brig and there’s a rein I wait to use my shield bash till he starts charging at someone, will save them most of the time if they’re close enough and if I need him to back up then I just use the flail. Speaking as a new Gold player tho so not sure if that strat is valid later on. But it’s working out so far

Speaking to the Brig Vs Reinhardt can confirm stay far away from that hammer. Bash is a moment tool first. Clean up/Damage tool second, and a Reinhardt charge/Doomfist punch defense in extreme situations only.

Just because a hero can kill another (so... any hero?) doesn't make it a counter. That isn't what countering is.

Small interjection to add to the Rein vs Brig bit.
My perception is obviously different from Flats since I play in Bronze. I deal with Memeharts on a regular basis which just charge in by themselves without their whole team.
Brig can totally bash a Rein to allow her own team to nuke him down before he gets back up, you can also clutch save allies if you're positioned in time.
Also even if it was 1v1 Brig could still easily outrun the Rein by Whipshoting and Shielddashing away. Brig is very mobile compared to Rein.
That last bit, fair. Coupled with how often Rein gets charge, you can definitely get away from Rein.
Shield dashing away is gonna be kinda difficult if she just used that ability to counter-pin Reinhardt tho

cd on shield dashing is 5 seconds.
You can spam that all the time and zip all over the map. Since it no longer stuns it kinda frees up the pressure to save it I feel.

Honestly I’ve had the most success as Brig with Dive comps. If I see a Winton and a Reaper on my team, I’m going in the back line to target the supports with them. If anything it forces their tank to focus Me and Winton/Reaper (if they react in a fraction of a second bc realistically the supports will die quickly) and that will allow our DPS free range on their Tank since their supports will be focusing on living (again, if they somehow live with how much dmg would be done in that short amount of time)
I know thats “not GM level thinking” but that’s realistically if I’m playing Brig at all, which I almost never do since Boostio is just better in a lot of different ways
The Brig clip tilted me so much. Not only is it fundamentally bad idea as a support to be within reins hammer, it's even worse now when Shatter does direct damage. Brig just gets sent to the shadow realms even faster.
