The "be polite to your supports" advice is legitimately insanely good advice.
Saying hi to your support in the beginning, maybe do a wacky emote and voice line, then say thank you whenever you get healed or rezzed. I guarantee that support will now try their damned hardest to keep you alive.

As a Mercy main it's just nice to see someone having fun too and being nice.
Yknow its like a relationship, if the tank/DPS is gunna get mad and blame everything on you even if you're trying your damned best then the support will, of course, also be pissed off and feel down too... But if instead we work together, have fun and are being kind it's a much nicer atmosphere so supports can feel more up for doing a slightly more risky move to revive/heal you instead of pulling back and pulling out the Mercy Glock...

Regardless of ping, you can tell that he has accuracy issues.
That's why he tends to move in closer in order to hit something, instead of shooting from an effective range.
Of course it's fun in bronze because they technically don't see elim numbers.
Either stay in the fun & friendly place or start to climb only to meet stronger players & he has to start his training montage.

I mean, I used to be a mercy main and I’ll often flex to her but in silver/gold, it’s impossible to primary your DPS players. Idk if I just play with main healers who don’t wanna keep my tanks up or if my tanks just want to constantly take 200 dmg per second, but whenever I’m mercy I’ll start the game focusing on my DPS, and after 1 lost fight, I realized that my other support just can’t keep the tanks alive so I need to swap to them. I suppose I could switch to Ana, Bap, Moira for bigger aoe heals, but whenever I pick mercy, it’s cause I want to do something a little easier and chill. There is nothing more zen than pocketing a good Pharah… basically I’m just bouncing around in the sky not even really paying attn. great times. :)

As a Mercy player who plays primarily for fun (I only ever played comp to see what my rank would be, and like 3 matches after with some teammates who were nice when someone was toxic to me, otherwise I'm an arcade/custom map queen), I can confirm: if you are nice to the Mercy and can at least hit some shots, even if your accuracy isn't great, you have become her favorite. She will absolutely run with your crazy flank, she will use her health regen passive to body block for you when Ana sleeps you, she will get some very silly rez off for you, and if she can't get the rez she will pull out the peashooter to avenge you. Even if you are a DPS (or even a tank) that I don't get a lot of value from damaging boosting, if you're nice to me and the Echo/Pharah/Ashe isn't, you're my bestie for the match. Top 500 players: plebians
Lvl 5 endorsement players: literal gods
Also real talk, one way I normally approach the concept of improving the pace of decision-making for pretty much all rank coachings, is to break it down to its causes. What actually makes you think faster?: By knowing what value is present around you.
The best way to understand what value is present for you to pursue at any given moment, is pure and simple mechanical consistency. The more consistent you are in your mechanics and your ability use, the more consistently you will be able to determine if a value proposition is doable or not (like chasing down that enemy dps on the flank or go deep in the enemy backline on an isolated support).
So for this, I always recommend one thing above all else: Limit testing. Put yourself in the craziest situations with clear goals you want to achieve, figure out how much it takes for you to achieve the goals you have in mind and DO NOT deviate from those plans even if it gets you killed. Then you just go again, and again, and again. Eventually you will be able to consistently evaluate in a short span of time, what possibilities are available to you and act on it with less hesitation. And this basic concept goes for all ranks, the difference is merely how far your limit testing will have to be pushed, as it scales exponentially the higher rank you are.
