To be fair if you're low ranked you can still have a good tip especially when it involves telling people how to play. But the guy had a reasonable tip that showed that you can see what roles the enemy was playing

@@Cuwzy that's fair! If it works in your elo/mmr it's viable. You gotta abuse what works at your rank -- even Flats has mentioned it; there's ideal, "perfect" overwatch play, and then there's the reality of the elo you're in. You can't expect your team to stay in your LOS as ana, or peek for heals, etc. Sometimes you gotta play a bit further up than you ideally should be, just to make it work. Later on though it stops working as much and can be considered throwing if you don't adapt and let these things become a bad habit holding you back.
Though there's always the smart play of jumping on a widow who's half hp and just used grapple hook, throwing damage orb and just right click for a quick kill. That can still work. A matter of situational timing 👍

I play DPS only with newbie friends so it's in a very low mmr. I ran into my first "Mercy's job is to pocket the tank" when I picked Ashe. The damage these tiktoks do cannot be understated.

I recently played some mercy cuz I love her she's my comfort character. When I was pocketing my Ashe in a match, our Rein got SOOO toxic and complaining all match because I was throwing. He literally was telling me to K*S, saying I'm ruining the game.
btw we won. Kills-Assists-Deaths I pocketed my ashe to 54-13-3. I finished 3-65-1. Our rein. 9-13-22.

9:05 he's on console (I saw an Xbox icon)where the queue times are pretty short in general, especially at lower ranks. Literally instantly queue's on support while Dps and Tank are usually 2-4 minutes on average from what I've seen (which I guess is on the longer side). It also queue's instantly if you have a full team so invite your friends, enemies that pop off and teamates that are good.
Lol, in open queue I'm a bap main. It's a good time when the enemy team gets so focused on fighting the other tanks that they forget about me in the backline and let me do my thing.
Honestly, healing in open q is so much better
Having open queue as a comp mode gives me a similar feeling to how Rumble in Rocket League is a comp mode

I have almost 130 hours as well, watch coaching guides from many channels and study the game as much as I can while playing all roles and I most definitely still consider myself a new player. I am gold in support and silver in one placement of damage but I think being aware of how much there is to learn and habits to constantly break is important for those like that junkrat player.
Nah, the rank drop is a huge problem this season. I finished at gold 2, had like 5 wins needed for the 7 wins. Season 2 started I went 7-3 my first 10 matches and it dropped me to Silver 4. It has been complete hell since. Matches are few and far between for a fair feeling match.
The old system was better. Sure the placements did absolutely nothing, but the system as a whole was just better. I want to remain where I belong and climb OR drop because of a visible reason. I dont want to have to grind *just* to get to a rank that ultimately means nothing because of the invisible mmr in the background pitting me against players of my actual skill level.
@@tatuvarvemaa5314 They like to "match" MMR. So if your DPS and the enemy teams are both 2000MMR. But your DPS are OW1 players while theirs are new to the game...... Who do you think is gonna win that match? They need to either combine the 2 ratings OR do away with one and make the other completely visible.
Not to mention how can you climb out of silver when you have games like this:
Playing Orissa, 43 kills, 12k mitigation, 15k damage, 6 deaths....
My DPS combined:
Reaper, Sojourn: 18 kills, 9k damage, 22 deaths.
That is a average "SILVER" TANK EXPERIENCE
I also came from console and I miss having almost all the cosmetics and half of the roster strapped with the golden weapons, by far the part that felt the worst about swapping lol

As someone who placed bronze 5 at the beginning of last season and climbed into gold. Silver was full of the worst players. Worst than bronze. Blizzard just confirmed why, they put new players in silver MMR instead of bronze where they actually belong. This made the climb through silver so hard. Blizzard said they fixed the new player MMR issue so hopefully some of these matchmaking issues will level out.
I'm t500 open queue and first clip is actually quite helpful to judge if the enemy is doing strats like widow on first point kings row, or just general tilt/role reversals. And while im at it, open queue is very fun! while normal ranked is dominated by pocketed sojurns and hogs, you can play virtually any tank or support in open queue and still get insane value because it comes down to your own skill on the hero above any meta.
Honestly this just sounded like the most beginner of beginner tips... which I am one of. "Hey, check your team and maybe glance at the enemy teams first role picks before you pick yours boss". Literally hit tab before you pick was the tip there, right? I am brand new to the game and assumed I'm confused, other than don't play open queue which I get if you are trying to play competitively. Of course open queue non comp is all I play lol.

Huge 5 head move as Echo is to copy their support if one of your support dies. I've had some Echos copy Mercy, rez me, and then become a giga Chad elating battle mercy and it works some the time lol

You know the "mercy pocket the tank" guys take on how long it takes to get comp points is pretty valid. At a 50% winrate it takes 400 games to get a gold weapon, and at his winrate it'll take over 1200 games.
Boy would I love to check the rank of their roles, but Blizzard thought it’d be a genius idea to let people privatize their career profiles

It also helps to sus out cheaters. Maybe you wanna see their rank cuz you’re trying to see what’s happening with your MMR. If someone’s being toxic just mute them

Minute! I lost 8 ranks on tank with 0 games in the hole after ranking up the previous day. Minute my **s. I gained 1 for support and lost 1 for dps for the incomplete sessions but -8 for none of them is f'ing ridiculous.

Idk about other people, but I log on and it says my endorsement level went down from 4 to 3, but I have not once in my life seen anything telling me it went up to 4 in the first place. It scams me every goddamn time
I really think they should change the comp titles next season to be role specific to avoid further confusion, like "Master damage challenger" "Diamond support challenger" and if you're the same rank in all roles use the current ones, or something new.
Man I played a tad bit of tank when ram came out but never went into comp with him. When I decided to, on placement matches I was put into gold 1 and up lobbies and peaked at a diamond 1 lobby. I have still yet to win 5 placement matches…
I know everyone says to be high ground, but I find when I m on high ground the only part of my body showing ends up being the head and I get non stop head shot from down below. I could be doing it wrong but man I hate being on high ground.
I saw a video the other day of kid in Gold 2, peak Plat player, in a game with a top 500’s. Def will say a lot more blow outs in OW2 than there used to be. Lot of new players too tho.

I'm fairly new to Overwatch (less than 100 hours) and I mostly play casually as a tank, I'd say for my position I'm decent at the game. I only ever play comp when I feel masochistic and somehow manage to get 50/50 win to lose ratio. Do I care about getting ranks? no. Am I playing to get a golden weapon? Passively, I just like playing some more challenging games every now and then and if I get a golden weapon from that in like 3 years that's just a fun bonus, if anything it'll give me good time to get better and carefully pick which weapon I want. I just kind of hope for more gamemodes and more frequent events
3-0-2 is basically what every open queue game devolves into. you'll start with 1-2-2, 2-1-2, or 1-3-1, then as a team is losing they will just add more and more tanks.

sweet summer child at 7:00... Of all the grindy bullshit in OW2, the gold weapons grind is probably the only one that people think is fair. It's not hard to get 200 wins in a season, just takes dedication... hence the cool reward.

I am a Top20 Open Queue Player on Console and i agree that QuadraTank and 1 Moira is the go to strat, at the end of the match u have moiras with 70k heals and its so fun

"You're within the matchmaking range" got me (gold3 support) on a team with two gold dps, private profile other support and bronze3 tank against a gold tank, diamond3 dps, one gold and one private support. We did not do well

For Open queue, you can play 3 tanks, two supps, or 2 tanks, A Tankbuster Dps like Reaper, and 2 supports.
I find open que to be more fun than normal comp for this season. Tanks like rein, zarya and queen become viable so it’s more fun than the must pick road orisa sigma in role que

About the first clip: the only reason I were to ever play open queue is because I don’t want to play support for 13 games in a row
To be fair, the tanks in open q got their healthpools reduced, so it's playable now.
I can’t help but think that maybe the way tanks are designed has a bit to do with the problem? If tanks are in general better than dps, maybe nerf tank damage into the ground? I’m no expert, don’t claim to be I’m bad, but it seems like tanks just do dps’s job better.
It's balanced right now for Role Queue. Tanks being better than DPS is mostly true. But there are two dps, and only 1 tank in the main game mode. Tanks also generally are fairly close range, while DPS have a multitude of ranges. Tanks don't auto win against DPS. But you best believe a team of 3 Tanks are going to win against a team of 3 DPS almost every time. They take up too much space, and have too much hp.
1v1 a dps can beat a tank. Like a Sojourn in the back beating up a tank, she can eventually kill the tank. But in OW you fight for space. The dps don't have enough hp to survive in the space required to actually win the objective, especially with 3 beefy enemies getting healed by supports.
And deathmatch maps, are usually fairly enclosed areas, so tanks are still pretty strong if they catch you. Though Junkrats and Moira's will probably still kill steal most of your fights from you lol.
Honestly though, open queue is better and more fun than normal comp. Id rather play longer fights than constantly being ONE shot from across the map.
Ain't gonna lie, I do enjoy open queue for fun. Even there the roles eventually match 1 tank and two supports or dps.
Sadly, as a Gold Support main (high Plat prior to ow2), ive Bern getting lots of matches with current rank Diamond and plat players on the enemy team, steamrolling a team of gold players. Ik I’m not as good as I used to be, but there’s something fishy going on with the ranking

My bros were doin’ the mixed competitive play and yeah it was 2 tank, 1 offense, 2 support or 3 tank, 2 support. It’s odd cuz I think it doesn’t have separate ranks for each gamemode. But eh oh well. I’m not doing tournaments or playin’ for money.

Have to agree with the Tiktok on one point. Currency grind takes forever even when you do win. Sure there are a few bonuses thrown around, but not nearly enough to justify the pathetic amounts earned per match.

I ended s0 at low Plat (with a higj winrate) and was placed high silver without playing any placements at the start of this season, I don't really get it but I had to spend a week and a half climbing back to Plat and getting called a smurf and it wasn't even my fault
If you are getting called Smurfs in lower ranks, that's actually a complement.

i think there should be silver guns or something too. or maybe the ability to buy skins with comp points. some skins would match a lot better with silver weapons imo, plus this allows for players who have a lot of points to have more shit to unlock.

I play open queue because I'm not good at many characters so if my support is taken I'll go for my tank and if that's used I'll go for DPS.

ill be honest open queue ranked is pretty fun, dont get me wrong it has its ups and downs and finding a strong team is hard enough as is being as many dont want to not play their main but as a whole its pretty fun to play, especially with different team set ups, quite refreshing
