I did not know his story, yet I was rooting for him because of the rarity of finding a Filipino doing gymnastics so well. The outcome from this Olympiads had proven without any doubt that perseverance and strong spirit pay off. Plus that he is blessed with a physique that is perfectly adequate for gymnastics. Being away at so early age, alone and immersed in a foreign culture has certainly forged his character. Them is when you can find your real self. He learned a lot because he is being on the brink of quitting, but quit quitting! Perhaps just being a step short of a medal this time is the best motivation to go further. He is very young and, as long as he keeps his physical and mental integrity, he has a long way to go. 頑張ってカロイ!

His perseverance totally pays off after having to move to a foreign country away from home and family, learn their language and go to school, all happening while training to be the best.
That is all both physically & mentally draining, especially for his age. But seeing him fight & strive through it is both inspirational & beautiful.

Thank you for this documentary about our Golden Boy. Pinoys can only celebrate the fame and prestige that he brings for our country but no one knew how much work and sacrifices he had to endure to reach where he is now. Thank you, Yulo. Just recently, 2022 SEA GAMES, he bagged alot of gold for the country. We're proud of him and thanks to his coach too for not giving up on him when he was about to lose his grip. We wouldn't have him if not for you too.

To think that Carlos is doing all these not only for his own fulfillment but most especially for his country, the Philippines. Napakalaking sakripisyo talaga. Maraming salamat din sa kanyang Japanese coach. If not for him Caloy's gymnastics career would not have prospered to what it is now. Most of all, sa ating Panginoon. He gifted Caloy with abilities to be a world class gymnast.
