The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
I always enjoy watching Henry Cavill in interviews because the hosts are always overwhelmed by the tidal wave of sheer nerd he unleashes upon them.
I think they're mostly shocked by the fact that he is an extremely charming nerd. They think those people don't exist lol
And this is Stephen Colbert who is also quite high up on the Nerd scale
@@bearzerger Stephen's a different kind of nerd. I understand his lack of interest. After watching this interview, I know I am not going to be as interested in Henry Cavill's interviews like before.
He's a geek, not a nerd. A great example would be if you ask someone to finish the sentence, "May the force be ____" if they answer "with you" they are a geek, specifically a Star Wars geek, but if they answer mass times acceleration then they are a nerd. Both have negative connotations though.
My eyes thank his gorgeous nerd self 💕 yowza
I loved the part when he said “None, didn’t you hear what I said?”😂😂😂
He is so witty!
I was thinking the same thing when SC asked that question. Then I felt guilty because it got real awkward.
He makes people around him always look shallow and dumb 😂
@KornFlace he kills everyone with his looks then he finishes them all with his wits intelligence and sense of humor 😊😂😂
I love how passionately he talks about anything you ask him about, there's just a torrent of information that flows out of him.
And he often seems supressing his laugh on interviews😂
I love that Henry is a gamer and when asked 'what is a Witcher' he doesn't even have to think because he's played all the games and read all the books. Which has been echoed by his cast mates from the Witcher. Exactly why he is the perfect Geralt
He is literally the only good thing about Netflixs version of The Witcher
He's also had to answer that same question in every interview he's done. However, he managed to give more info in this one and reveal his nerdiness more!
@@lamiagumbo You smoking something rancid because that show is fire
@@kingjamestres its "fire" if youve never read the books or played the games both of which are far superior to the Netflix version. Whoever wrote the show clearly had exactly 0 contact with the source material.
@@lamiagumbo And yet, I, and tons of other folks were drawn into the world of The Witcher because of the show... So it's doing *something* right.
If Henry Cavill revealed he was also a giant Tolkien nerd who could beat Stephen at his own trivia knowledge, he’d truly be king of the nerds
We're not worthy!!!
He was so passionate about scuba diving , he made a dangerous thing sound absolutely lovely.....
He's passionate about EVERYTHING he does. Have you seen this man build a PC? 😂
Finally a man that can justify his expensive dive watch!
@@nightknight9415 😂🤣😂 probably the only one!
Learning he's a diver pushed me over the edge. I could watch this on repeat.
He's talking about it so casually because here in Fiji, we go night diving like 5 times a week lol
As someone who’s watched their husband assemble multiple gaming computers over the years, the sheer nerd joy that radiates from them upon completion is unlike anything else.
That does puts a smile up on my face.
The first beep of life when your baby is fully assembled. It’s a sigh of relief and a wave of elation. I’ve built every single one of my PC and I LOOOVE teaching my friends and always encouraged them to do it too. The experience of being able to customize something that fit what you personally want and need is awesome. And if something is going wrong- you can pin point what it is and can most likely fix it yourself which is way cheaper than going somewhere.
You just described my husband. I laughed so hard at this. 🤣 hello, fellow nerd-wife!
You are a wonderful wife just to say that.
I love the slight dissonance between old-school nerd and current-style nerd in this interview. Colbert, a bit older and into the tabletop games and books, is interested and nonjudgmental but still has to refer to his son's question for help. And Cavill, a bit younger and into the PC gaming world, ready to share all his obsessions and encouraging Colbert to try something new.
Colbert is a theatre nerd. Into Shakespeare stuff.
Henry is a very modern tech/fantasy nerd.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 Colbert is also into fantasy and sci-fi, few people know more about Lord of the Rings and Dune than him, but he's into the early stuff. It's the same passion, but a different era
Henry is also into tabletop gaming. He plays Warhammer 40,000, and has an army of Adeptus Custodes.
@@swiftlymurmurs This it's true, specially with readings of astrophysics too, he said he loves to read and know about space.
Henry Cavill on Colbert is the only way I could ever watch Colbert
I swear... I'm a grown ass, married man of 40 some odd years...but, I'll be damned it I just can't stop grinning from ear to ear when watching and listening to Henry talk about shit I love. 🤗
I don't even love the same stuff as him but the way he just radiates joy when talking about it gets me grinning like a god damn Cheshire cat
Everything about Cavill must be intimidating to men, he is beautiful, intelligent, nerdy and quietly confident. His opener with Stephen (‘we all know what you thought’) was an opening for humour but it caught Stephen off guard which is rare. I hope he takes the time to get to know him, they have a lot in common, and both are excellent value.
Cavill is handsome, but not perfect looking. Great physique though!
Don't forget his gorgeous body, beautiful teeth and so on ...😌
@@chouloudemusilin he's perfect to me!
@@Rachel-mi5xz I know this may disgust you, but I think Paul Rudd has a nicer face than him, not a nicer body though.
lol not to gay guys
It's fun to see a guy living life to the fullest
He's manly. He's charming. He's a nerd. He's perfect!
@@Miguel-q2c1b you really felt the need to make something out of nothing didn't you?
He's a nerd AND a geek, which is even better - especially in that devastatingly attractive form
@@Hypegreene05 He's not wrong to be fair, no one is perfect.
@@Miguel-q2c1b YOU'RE INSECURE. 😉
No one is perfect, but he seems pretty damn close for me at any rate
Everytime Henry takes a dive, oceans' level raises
U made me imagine that 😂
@@tanishaanag541 "That" what? The raising bathtub water scene, I guess 😄
@@CaraVerde😅 yeah but in a funny way
Aquaman gonna feels humilated about that. Supes cant do that!
Cavill is such a joy to watch, he's just so genuine. He's also one of us, a PC and tabletop gamer. He just seems like a decent human being.
Henry Cavill, the person anyone could be friends with. There's nothing not to love about this man.
Take what actors present as ''themselves'' with a fistful of salt, they pretend for a living.
@@immasurvivor This guy is as genuine as they get. Go watch his videos of him painting Warhammer figurines or building his own PC.
@@witchblade100377 Yeah, im not saying his interests and hobbies are manufactured xD im saying that his almost supernatural warmth and likeability might might be for show......I mean he is a WH40k nerd and hardcore gamer, that ought indicate some personality disorders xD
@@immasurvivor I don't believe that he's some secret asshole or anything like that. I've never seen any stories about him being difficult to work with or anything, but I'm sure because of his well known nerdiness, he probably has a few episodes where if someone is not playing a character right or something like that, he'll let them know how to do it properly.
@@witchblade100377 Neither do I, just as I dont believe what we are presented with in PR segments are 100% real. Think about like a retail worker, they all appear personable and pleasant, because thats their job. as far as being an annoying nerd about staying true to characters, that I can completely imagine xD That pedantic shit is in all nerds, and he is a giganerd.
Henry Cavill seems like such a genuine nice guy. Also a great actor.
It's pretty rare when someone can out-nerd Stephen.
I don't know if he was outnerded.
I think Stephen found his equal. Quite frankly.
Modern day man... gotta say, HC checks all the right boxes. Super intelligent and articulate. Nerdy. Unfiltered. Humble. Vulnerable. Honest. And damn, that dude is stacked thick! I would love to see an extended interview (like an hour long) that explores his upbringing, what inspires/inspired him, what keeps him motivated, etc...
Can we please make this man the next James Bond.
I hope they choose Tom Hardy, but if Henry Cavill gets the role that's great too
That slightly pained smile Henry has every time Stephen mispronounces Geralt... But he's way to polite to correct him.
this
God i was cringing so hard!! Ger-Olt😖
Haha, yes!! I was cringing, too 🤣🙈
Stephen seems smitten by Henry. Understandable.
He's funny, he knows how to build PCs, hes gaming, he knows Witcher books - I think I'm having a bit of a bro crush right here
Right? He's the kind of guy I want to be friends with.
Yeah and Henry’s not bad too
A bit? Full on, dude!
Amazing guy and actor.
I love how smart he is, rare in Hollywood
I feel a bit of pain for Henry for having to answer a question "What is a Witcher" for like a 1000th time.
He's both the nerd and the cool guy... actually a good choice to embody Superman come and think of it.
Exactly!!
I keep learning new things about Henry Cavill with every interview, and he is absolutely endearing.
Hands down my favorite actor off screen, an absolute gem on screen.
Thank God for Henry..
He is so modern, modest, handsome and intelligent. All in one.
Look at Henry's eyes when Stephen says Ger-alt
I love how Stephen is at a loss for words at moments here. He seems star struck! He himself is such a smart, good looking nerd and Cavill is all that on steroids (er, potions?).
Steven did not do justice with this interview. The Witcher deserve d alot more focus then it received.
I love Stephen, but he is as good at saying Geralt as he is at saying Gollum. ;) (So glad to see Henry on the show, he's wonderful!)
Henry Cavill is so fucking awesome at everything he does, super nice guy and power nerd. Love it
He’s nerdiness makes me fall in love W him more than I already have everytime
Such a gorgeous guy - avid fan of Henry!
I want a Henry and Stephen miniseries, where Henry teaches Stephen about The Wither lore, and Stephen teaches Henry about LOTR lore.
A man this handsome deserves custom-tailoring. This suit wasn’t doing him any favors and he’s still ridiculously ridiculously good looking.
So Soooooooo good looking! My wife teases me cause of my crush on him but then she'll send me videos like this while i'm at work! haha
@@MrJonthebassist now that's an awesome wife!

He would be such a perfect James Bond
Hello gorgeous,
Thanks for the utmost love and moral support, from the bottom of my heart I appreciate you for being a wonderful fan🌹🤗
He’s seems like such a lovely and down-to-earth person. (Also, that photo of him as Geralt in the bath is the most exquisite picture of a man ever…. ) 🤪
I'd say "get in line", but you're invisible. You have the supreme advantage 😉
A video of Henry Cavill wielding his “big sword” who wouldn’t like to see that…
Henry is in a good mood
Henry Cavill is so perfect
Loved the books, loved the games, loved the series, each has its own personality and focus.
Is it me or there was some awkward moments in this interview? Stephen wasn't as prepared as usual with such a great actor, no chemistry between them although the Witcher is close to the universe of LOTR. Netflix could have sent a better clip.
I noticed that too. But I think it was because of Henry's response to Stephen's son's question. I thought Henry's answer was impolite. I believe from then on, Stephen just wanted to get done and over with the interview.
@@ubertones that's the problem with colbert. He just so often makes the interview about himself or just mails it in.
@@ubertones I thought his response was perfect as it was verbatim what ran through my head when he asked that. Colbert was just taken aback by the level of detail in his response.
Yeah think Stephen was a bit off his game this interview
He also asked pretty much the exact same questions as Graham Norton
I love when Henry divulges his inner nerd, represent. I'm a big guy, look like a jock, bald head, look intimidating but I'm total nerd and gamer myself. I also have that affect when I tell my deep secret to others.
Watching moon from under water is truly magical. The man have taste.
Could have listened to more from Herny, still I'm happy👍
It’s so weird to see Stephen a bit awkward with him since they actually both have a lot of geeky passions in common. Like this is someone Stephen can play D&D and talk LOTR with.
Henry smiling to himself at the end after hearing Colbert call Geralt "Geraaalt"
Odd how many common interests I have with this guy and yet how depressingly different we are
And PSA from a divemaster, do not turn off your lights in a night dive. It's a safety thing. Your guide/divemaster/buddy/boat captain/surface monitors are all looking at/for your light.
Well, dive together !
This man is literally PERFECT✨✨
Love how Henry has some Superman self-confidence surrounding his aura ... Maybe he is the closest person on earth to be Superman :D
Smile it Never go Out of style. Everybody please smile when you hear this beautiful voice of Henry Cavill 💘💝💙
Henry was unusually sassy this time xD He was full of beans.
Funny, on paper this should have been an excellent interview. But whereas HC appeared completely natural and at ease, SC came off as merely professionally polite and somewhat reserved, even distant at times.
So I’m not the only one that didn’t quite enjoy the energy here
Mate, he's CRUSHING. Hard. Dude-crushes are totally a thing. Henry's a super-handsome, Witcher nerd, and Stephen's a dapper-older-man, Tolkien nerd. I'd be a bit tongue-tied too 😉
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 this isn’t that
@@TiaraonCamera you don't know for sure
This was a pointless interview. It was a tick box exercise. A shame, as Stephen could have connected over their shared, but generationally different, geekdom. Maybe Stephen looks down on Henry's more modern (not as culturally sophisticated) geekdom?
Such a shame Colbert couldn't appreciate another book nerd.
What makes you say that
Good god. When the heavens made Henry they really took their time.
On another note can’t wait for the new Witcher!!!!!!
Fiji???did he say Fiji?
Im watching this interview over and over again. Go Fiji Go🇫🇯
The moment he started talking about the games, you could tell he completely went into the zone!
I have had a major crush on HC since The Tudors.
0:27 “herbs” america did you hear that 😂 HHerbs
They still pronounce it the original way as it's derived from French. We changed it when we decided to include the 'H' sound as with a lot of other words; although words like honour, hour & heir slipped by. However - it _does_ sound nicer the way we say - with an H...
I can only picture this old creepy guy that rented a room from my aunt back in the day, his name was Herb with the hard H lol
Thoroughly enjoyed Season 2, hope we don't have to wait as long for Season 3!
As a lifelong board gamer and miniature painter… finding out this dude is a participant makes me like him even more!
That look when Stephen almost forgot Henry's name at the start
Henry should do more Colbert show from now on, much better conversation quality than the both Jimmys for sure

How are you doing??
I want to say a very big thank you for the love and support showed to me and my movie . I will continue to make you proud. Now ama notice you
He's so great as Geralt!
Love to see interviews where they dont keep bringing up how handsome he is and make him feel unconfortable.
Colbert is flabbergasted and a little in love with Cavil
He was great in the Tudors!
Hello gorgeous,
Thanks for the utmost love and moral support, from the bottom of my heart I appreciate you for being a wonderful fan🌹🤗
Anyone else had the impression Steven did not really connect to Henry though they might be equally nerdy 🤔
Yup. There's chemistry, there's also this thing called anti-chemistry. Where you can try your hardest to keep a conversation going, but it's just a chore, and if you stop trying it just bleeds out. Which you saw happen here. Not much you can do about it, it just happens between people. But Henry Cavill and Stephen Colbert are both professionals, they got through the interview just fine.
I just thought he was in awe, personally. The man does tend to inspire that 😄
I noticed that too. I think as other comments have said, they're different in the ways they're nerdy and geeky. Colbert is generally "nerdy" for a variety of information as well as "geeky" for Lord of the Rings and some other classic sci-fi/fantasy stuff. Cavill is primarily a gaming "geek" and "nerd" for computers (watch the other part of the interview and you'll hear how he built his own computer, something Colbert admitted to not understanding). I guess we're seeing that those worlds have less overlap than we would have thought!
Such a charming, funny, handsome and charismatic nerd!
Henry is quite lovely as well!
I hope he plays the new James Bond soon, and return as Superman in the future
Henry Cavill is a example of how you should enjoy every moment in your life
Henry is like a mysterious book that people wanna discover :)
Yasssss... Come on back for more diving in Fiji 🇫🇯.. and maybe shoot an episode under water for the #TheWitcher 👏👏
I wasn't a fan of Henry's Superman, when I first watched the movie I will admit. But when I looked more into the effort he put into it and how much of a fellow nerd he is. I've grown to appreciate the film over the years and Henry as a person.
Excellent Actor. Excellent Show. Excellent Writers. 👏🏻👏🏻
I am so satisfied with the way he talks about the potion in the game, because I played that too and feel that is actually an interesting question, so when he made one of the good choices and mentioned the details I am like "yes!! Yes, exactly!! ". *Shrieking happily. Lol.

I think Stephen Colbert was smitten 😂
Henry Cavill does the homework for every role. You can tell he loves it, which is why the fans love him back so much.
This man is a GOLDEN HUMAN.....
It’s becoming apparent that Stephen Colbert is in love with handsome men. As he looked deep into the eyes of Henry, he obviously didn’t listen to what he was saying. Colbert is a clever man and professional but good looking guys distract him.
That was the same clip shown on Graham Norton’s show. Wow his first time on this show? I really want to see him reprise his role as Superman
I love that hes an avid warhammer 40k fan
Imagine having to explain what a Witcher is for the 600ths time :D
I feel like I'm swimming with sharks the moment I walk into the lot of a car dealership.
I don't trust like that
He's referring to the potion "Killer Whale", the one that gives you ability to breathe underwater.
I think Killer Whale just increases your ability to hold your breath, not to actually make you able to breathe underwater.
