I love seeing some of the common and classic corals grown out. They don't have to have a fancy new name or be some unheard of strain to be stunning. Having come into the hobby only about 5 years ago, it was by far the classic and OG SPS which made me the most excited. Because I read about decades of reefers excited over and over about those common names. They've wowed 2 and 3 decades of reefers for a reason. And this tank is a great example of why. Beautiful display
Outstanding accomplishment ! The style of aquascaping is just the best... Very natural and fresh. The corals along the very bottom are the way to go. I wanna come big like you, Sir 😂😂❕
Very Amazing tank! As hobbyist, we sometimes forget, people that aren’t in the hobby don’t know the price of the corals and although they may be cheaper, they still look amazing and are beautiful in a tank! Nice reef!!!
Awesome tank and great video! Does he have any social media or other ways to see his tank? Video was too quick, would have loved to get some more details on his setup with equipment and more video and description of corals. What an awesome Tank!
WOW!!! That is an amazing reef!!! You are a brilliant reefer. I couldn’t tell in the video if you have substrate on the bottom or not. Thanks for sharing Gerald!!!
There is some substrate on the bottom but Gerald has been slowly sucking it all up every time he cleans. There is egg crate under all the rocks making it impossible to remove it all. Thanks for watching 😃
@@WorldWideCorals I heard that there is a guy in San Fransisco who has his tanks in a crawl space under the house, really tight space, not for the faint of heart. Especially someone who does not watch horror movies.
i used to be all about the rare and latest and greatest, now I love a good birds nest that grows quick and stags that fill in the space. Why people want tenius that they have to look over the tank to see how good they are, and grow super slow is beyond me :D
Fast growing low end corals are not bad to have rather the things for me is that they grow fast, consume resources both in the water and on the rocks. People don't want them because the market gets flooded with that stuff and it lands up getting tossed out. I can't begin to tell u how much xenia, Palys, Monti star polyp, leather coral especially the branching one. It's more work trying to revoke it then its worth. I do this every day so I see my fair share of it. I agree consistency and simplicity are key to constant coral and overall aquarium health. After u spend 💸 💰 on the setup u just can't see adding in cheap free corals to fill it up. That's like buying a Ferrari shell and adding in a Lada engine and interior 😂 regardless each to their own. Beautiful furniture and tank!
Just curious - in the video, why does the tank in certain shots look super blue (for example 6:30 to 6:35) vs more of a white, sunlight look (6:43 - 6:48)? Is it just the camera playing tricks or is he altering the lights? Which is the actual AB+ look to the eyes (which he says he runs)?
Other than the fact that, yes I live reef tank is a beautiful site. I don’t understand what the surprise is with the tank that large as long as all the parameters are kept with the infusion of CO2 that could happen in a couple of months I didn’t use CO2 or any kind of extra special anything it took me two years to get mine That look like yours but the inside of 125 gallon tank with dual overflows and the most incredible filtration soap you’ve ever seen if you know what you’re doing you can get your corals to grow super fast
For flow he is using the Red Sea Gyre on the controller side of the tank. Previously he just had MP 60's but recently swapped some out with the longer Gyre pump.@@austinremington8905
Oh look, another "massive gallon" tank. Yes, they look good, but are out of reach for the majority of people. Why not focus more on the ~80-100 gallon tanks that most people start with - will be much more relatable to more people.
Hi Richh, we've got some video of small tanks on our channel! Check out this video of Lou 25 Gallon Tank update last week, ruclips.net/video/rUjq2wYYiAQ/видео.htmlsi=u_FOe3gN69xZ9U8l
I think getting a pleasing mix of colors in several colonies is far more impressive than having super expensive and rare color morphs.
Agreed!

Looks fantastic, you can't beat big colonies for an impressive look, regardless of how common they are.
Correct! Any system that has thriving coral is beautiful
This is the type of bigger tank I like to see- more common corals just in a huge tank- Love this

Beautiful results with a restrained, thoughtful coral “palette”. Great idea!
I love the Canadian content. Very impressive tank with mature colonies. Us Canucks approve!

Bring back VIKKKKKKKKK
I wanna know what flow he has in that tank to be able to stretch from corner to corner. Also the GSP, you never see that in a tank of this size. WOW
For flow he is using the Red Sea Gyre on the controller side of the tank. Previously he just had MP 60's but recently swapped some out with the longer Gyre pump.@@austinremington8905
