- EP11 presents: Wild Betta Imbellis also called Peaceful Betta, Wild Betta tank setup, feeding Betta Fish with betta pellets and freeze dried bloodworms, Betta Imbellis tank mates and Betta tank maintenance. I am finally back home after being away for 3 months and I am happy to say all the inhabitants of "The New World" aquarium are alive. Since aquarium has been taken care by a novice fish keepers while I was away, all in all they did amazing job. I advised them just to do normal water change/cleaning and feeding of Betta Fish. Java Moss has completely taken over the bottom so I have decided to go with a flow and keep it as a carpet plant. During my regular maintenance I added two Java Ferns because I wanted the back to be more filled in at least until steam plants in the back grow taller.
Aquarium: Dennerle Nano Cube 30cmx30cmx35cm (12inx12inx14in)

Filter: Dennerle Nano Corner Filter 10-40L

Most important part is that all survived. Honestly even I wouldn't don't better job.
wild bettas have the best natural behavior. they act so much more like fish vs the domestic betta. great interaction with your fish! your imbellis boy is actually a hybrid.
He is very interesting fish to watch and interact with.

Hey just wondering, what do you spray on the glass when you wipe the front of the tank?
Its just glass cleaner and later on I clean it with paper towel.
Is the divider and feeder ring just made from airline tubing?
Hey Jessy thanks for watching. Yes feeding ring is made from airline tubing. I showed how to make it in my last video I published " How To 2.5 Gallon Aquarium". Divider is made from acrylic hollow tube, and how to make that one you can see in EP8 of "Betta Tank" series.

Hey Lydia, I was thinking about it. But I would love to do another tank, maybe something more like their natural habitat "blackwater". Its definitely something I am willing to try in the future.

Hey Jason welcome to the channel. My pH is around 6.6-6.8. Do you mean male/female or male/male?
@@IMaqua Male and female, I really want to get one but some of the research I'm finding is conflicting and I've only found one video of them actually living together by Rachel O'lery.
I have never kept a pair together and I also read a lot of conflicting info. Although they are called peaceful betta it all depends from betta to betta. Lets say mine started to kill shrimps from day 1, so I had to evacuate shrimps. Now few shrimplets survived and they are decent size, but he wont even look at them. So if you want to try, provide them big enough aquarium and you need to be aware the male will constantly chase female to spawn. I didn't see that video from Rachel, but she is very knowledgeable fish keeper and I would definitely trust her.
Plants you have used? And fertilizers
Plants that i uses are limnophila sessiliflora, Anubias barteri nana, java moss, rotala rotundifolia and salvinia natans. I didn't use fertiliser.

Yes they are all low maintenance plants. If they died on you i think maybe something was wrong with your substrate. Did you have enough nutrients in the substrate and soil?
@@IMaqua no. It's just a normal black soil. When you told me that you did not use any fertilizer I got a heart attack 😭
It would definitely help if your soil had nutrients. What kind of soil you used? What brand?
