    This, for ONCE, is an actual glitch. It has to be an older TOS paragraph (or document from old AB5 that ended up in this update. This is evidence for a new round of wage claim class actions

    Today I accepted an upfront fare for $14 and some cents and got paid $10 and some cents… it’s cumbersome for me to take a screenshot before accepting. This has happened several times!

      In New Jersey NO UPFRONT, all Uber rides are blind rides .. especially if they premier pick possible mean drive 15 minutes to pick up passengers who want to go only 1 mile and the price you get is 3.5$ for 25 minutes

      Take the screenshot before you even begin to analyze "is it worth it?" Look at the mileage OR minutes and decide on a rounded number you can easily multiply in your head. If you'll except the ride for $1.00/minute, accept it. If you'll accept the ride for $2.00 or $3.00/mile, accept it. They keep drivers confused with all the other "hourly amounts" now showing up on the screen. If the ride is $8.02 going 4.5 miles for 10 minutes, and the screen says, "You'll make $42 an hour if you take this ride," (something to that effect), IGNORE THAT MESSAGE!! You would have to do 5 more rides of 10 minutes each at that exact same distance and per minute rate to get that hourly amount. It's a SMOKE SCREEN! Know your worth for each individual ride request if you are in a busy market!

      @@JaivishalOmanSend Tech Support a message requesting that they show you how far to pickup and how long the trip and in what direction or the actual destination for drop off. Look up your state rates for per mile and per minute to know approximately what you would be paid for any trip if you do not have upfront pricing showing on your screen.

    Not sure if this is the right place or if its been talked about before, but for claiming a fee for passenger mess (puke, spills, etc) is the most ridiculous thing Ive ever seen. Drivers have to get the mess professionally cleaned in one day, and then submitted in 3 days to get reimbursed for the cleaning? WTH Not way this can be done since most detailers are closed on the weekends. So the rider can literally do anything to the car and Uber MAY reimburse you for a little damage but only for the amount the driver has to shell out to get the car cleaned. No rider responsibility at all. FU Uber. This needs to be fixed or at least someone needs to make this top priority getting this changed.

    We need to have a class action lawsuit against this. This is Uber's way of cutting our wages while still charging the customer the same amount.

    I read this and was puzzled as well. What a bunch of bs. Like drivers are going to negotiate a lower fare when drivers are being screwed with low fares. I haven’t done anything with it. Haven’t been driving Uber.

    • @RSPBK
      @RSPBK 5 дней назад +1

      You negotiate a lower fare when the RIDER is being gouged - like when fares surge. Look at the Waybill or ask the rider what they're paying (I know most drivers need help finessing this part). It's helpful to know your market and what fares SHOULD be when you negotiate. But mostly, know YOUR WORTH. And please know that riders want to pay drivers fairly. But Uber has been blocking this with threats. Now they're saying, yeah, it's OK.

    Uber sees something coming down the pike, especially with so many drivers opting out of arbitration. So now they're "giving us the power" to set our own fares. Ha!

  • @RSPBK
    @RSPBK 5 дней назад +1

    Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I just see things differently. YOU CAN SET YOUR OWN PRICES! It's one reason why we're private contractors, right? Drivers need to stop thinking about the lowball fares because you'll never get a rider to pay more than what they agreed to in the app. But you can get them to pay less while at the same time pay you more than what Uber was going to pay you. Example from real life: Surge pricing; 3-mile trip; Uber app was paying me $14; Rider complained to me that trip costing him $30!; I said that's BS, I'll do it for $15; Rider said OK, here's $20!! End result: Rider saved $10; I got $6 extra. RIDERS WANT TO PAY US FAIRLY!

    2 years ago I was in Turkey and uber drivers were dealing the price with me in the app. That happens in the other countries. BTW in Turkey drivers more united and almost all uber drivers are yellow cabs.

    I don't know why no lawyers are jumping on what is going on in NJ. We only get pickup information. When we get there, we have to decide if we are going to do the trip after asking the rider where they are going. Is not safe working this way I had a guy wanted to beat me up because I got to him and he was going 1.5 hours away to an airport in another state and I know i would not have made any money on it with Uber taking 50 to 60% and me paying all the tolls going back. He said he was going to make me take him because I accepted the trip and he was not going to miss his flight. I told him Uber only gives me pickup information, and I was not driving that far and to get out. Luckily, he did not take it, father, because his family would probably be missing him. Semper Fi

    3:08 and 12:05 - Sounds to me like they are trying to stem a class action (or DOJ action) for price fixing. Uber does not ENABLE drivers to set prices. That part is not true. But smart drivers do it anyway, without Uber's help. The idea is, Sergio, to set your price below what Uber charges the rider. Obviously this won't make sense for most rides. But it does make sense in instances where Uber's surge pricing is extremely high. The rider will gladly pay less than what Uber is charging.

    Why are people in the comments thinking so small? You CAN negotiate down - but do it from an already outrageously high fare. Negotiate lower than what the app charges the rider, but higher than what the app was gonna pay you for that same trip. Stop allowing Uber to make these decisions for you. Make your own decision about the fare.

    I have never been able to refund or change any prices for uber or lyft. If we are independent then we should be able to set our prices.
    Im looking to build my own app and have standard fare for certain distances and higher rates during certain times. Riders are willing to pay fair but when they charge 100 for the ride due to surfe and the deiver gets 20, that is robbery.
