Well Lord Muck, after admitting everything you've said about them, you're now the proud owner of a 7810! Well done, and yes, it is heartwarming to see someone like Richard being totally upfront and honest about its condition so I am looking forward to seeing another video about the repairs needed. BTW I am quite happy with my Duncan Super cab on the John Deere 1130 it certainly beats a sack over the knees, thick coat, gloves and a hood pulled down tight against the rain. Been there, done that, not funny.
Really interesting seeing all the different conversions and ford variants could spend hours there. There's a collection in Suffolk with barns packed full of county's, Roadless, Muir Hills I was lucky enough to get a look round last year
Trust worthy and legitimate people like Richard are invaluable, what a collection he has! Was super interesting learning the history behind the companies that offered up conversions and modifications. Look forward to some 7810 content, sometimes when the opportunities present themselves you gotta just take them!
Well done mucker excellent vid, my family have always had ford and new Holland but my grandad and dad never spent a penny more than they needed too such as no bigger tyres, no super q, no extras at all !! The first my dad can remember was a Fordson dexta that they kept for a good 30 years as a scraper tractor, they also had a 3000 when it came out on the market and had that a good 15-20 years in the early 80s they then bought a 3610 which was a brilliant yard tractor but then my grandad and his brother wanted to move on a bit as then they both had there own families and was getting hard to make a living with 250 acres so they bought a 2nd farm that was 350 acres but with 600 acres two relatively small tractors just weren’t enough so the 3610 went to the 2nd farm and they bought a 5610 as the main tractor, this was a massive step up as they now had a tractor that was 72 horses and 4WD!! Despite it not having a q cab they did go for wide tyres, and that was a mistake! My father described it like a monster truck with 72 horses. They had regulars but on it then but years down the line my great uncle that lived on the 2nd farm had a heart attack and unfortunately died, considering the farms being live stock only it wasn’t possible to run both of them so they had to sell the 2nd farm but then 3 tractors were to much for our yard so they traded the 3000 and 3610 for a matbro for a good few years and then traded the 5610 for a “mighty” 6635 which had a iveco engine with 85hp but overall most parts were fiat and we had it for seven or eight years and my dad claimed that “it never broke down not even a bulb”after that beast was sold we had a TL100A and that was almost the love of my life, although it had a basic cab it’s was the last tractor on our farm that had no electric throttle or any of that crap if you gave her a welly in 2nd she would shift like a beaut to 3rd, once we finished paying for the TL we sold the matbro for a manitou can’t remember the model but we had that for only 4-5 years and bought a T5.115 with a quickie q46 loader on it and it looks a bit ridiculous on a small t5 and has and still is wrecking the tractor it self, this was in April 2013 so the t5 range was new to the market which meant the gear box is a pile of poo, but at the time new Holland we’re choosing three farmers with a t5 to do a advert/ review and coincidence or not my dad was one of them! so our local dealership came and recorded it and had some fun but we only had a thank you a boylersuit each and a model of a T7? early this year we sold our TL for a case farmall 115c which is the same as a t5 and that’s going good but couple thing not perfect if I’m honest such as rear axle leak and cab leak and hydraulics that glitches out, when we finish paying for the farmall it is very likely that the t5 will go as it’s already on 5000 hours at 8 years old and we sold the TL when it was 14 at 4800 hours. Any way loving the vids mucker
This was a very nice view for me, I like seeing the different variations from what we have in the U.S. Dad had a 5600 that was our small tractor and loader worker, a 7700 that was upgraded to a 7710 for our mid size tractor and our big tractor was a White 2-135 then a JD 7610. All were good, spent a lot of hours on the Ford's, all they ever needed was regular service and never failed us. Miss putting hours on them.
Its funny how you compared the 7810 and the 8210. I grew up on a farm where we had both. Even though my love goes to the 7810 i have to agree with you. Basically they perform as though they are the same tractor, the 8210 is just that tat bigger and fitted better for pretty much all equipment we had. My Father and his brother also went tractorpulling with them. Even though both tractors pulled trophies home this was where the 7810 could outshine the 8210. Man i miss good old silver :)
I drove both models back in the day (Gen2 and 3) and the 8210 was just better/nicer all round. I did drive a decent 7810 one season which pulled like a train but most were... well... not an 8210.
I had a JJ Thomas 95-120 with a Schindler front 4wd axle on it Had to sell it in 2012 when I got divorced - still gutted and would love to buy it back 😢
Got a massive soft spot for old Fords as started as a young fella on 5000 and 7000, 6610, 7810, 8210, tw 35, 8830 owned a 7840 2wd that had been hotted up with pump and bigger turbo etc. Mate had a big county pulling a freeman baler. Alway had a interest in the roadless and county conversations so that was a great video mucka, yaz could of rattled on for hours and I would of been glued to it. Cheers n beer's from New Zealand and a pat for the collies 👍👍🍻🍻👨🔧🚜🇳🇿
ALWAY look forward to your videos my friend. Your content ALWAY is so very impressive. Love your venture down memory lane. Don't stop these types of videos Lord Muck. Take care Chap
i can still remember seeing the late roadless 120 (10 series bonnet) at our training collage at stone (bt) when i first started ,not in a good a condition as it is now ,we used to have a good few when i started ,the one in our yard was used for mole ploughing cables in across the moors , all we bought were the equal wheeled types , the one in the yard was a lambourne cabbed one,,sadly never got to drive it though,as that work got subbed out a couple of year after i joined
I've just found your great channel and this video brought some Memories back as a child of the 70's on a farm and sending for sales brochures from Roadless and Muir-Hill out of the Farmer's Weekly and Power Farming and ticking the "Student" box on the cut out, I still have those somewhere........great times .....Dave North Lincolnshire.
I noticed that most of the tractors you showed had the Simms injection pump. Those pumps would eat more trash than any other fuel injection system to this day. Thanks for the video
Hi there from New Zealand. I bought a brand new 7000 dual power. And ordered a selene front wheel drive unit. It was an excellent tractor for it's time. It replaced a MF178 that I had fitted a selene front wheel drive unit to after rolling it down a gully just just a few months from new. As well we purchased a new County 1164 for heavy hills Country work braking in virgin ground. They were both excellent machines. Wish I could get them back for a personal collection. Great Chanel and video
This was a wonderful period in agricultural equipment. There was a large amount of short line manufacturers who really pioneered some pretty amazing advancements. Sadly it seems most have gone to the way side like you stated with large companies either buying them or squeezing them out through competition. A great way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. Keep up the good work!
My uncle had a jj Thomas 9500 on a double chop back through the 80s n 90s, she was used just for his silage it was some tractor in it’s time as you said ultra rare, this is some shed of gems 😍
I hate it when that happens! I went to a Ford dealership once to pick up some parts for my old truck. By the time I left, I was driving a new Ford truck!!!
We had two County 1164’s for ploughing/ drilling/ driving the forager and as a fourteen year old boy an 1164 on a buckrake picking big Howard bales. Plus a 2WD Ford 7600 with twin wheels on a triple K cultivator. Our main ploughing tractor was a fleet of 6 Ford 5000s all on 4 Vurrow Ransom conventional ploughs. The Counties pulled 6 Vurrow Lemkens. Happy days
What a fantastic look around at that collection of fords, I have always been a fan of roadless & county as you have probably heard me “crow” on about . Its not until you get a chance to look at a collection & compare the tractors in the barn that you realise that all these machines could have been lost or scraped, without people helping to save them.👍The old tractors really have some character over modern machines, only got to look at the thickness of metal & engineering on the roadless to see that , not made out of tin & plastic like today’s machines. That must of been a pleasure to walk around that barn & look 👀, Good luck with the tractor you purchased, I think it would of been difficult for me to have walked away from a deal, especially with Ford prices shooting up, well done 👍. Many thanks for great film footage !!!😊
Great vid thanks for that lord muck. Richard is only 15 minutes away from me and bought some bits off him over the years and he is one of the most honest and nicest man to deal with. Thank you both keep it coming 👌👍. P.s. couldn’t stop laughing at the end of the vid. That’s happened to me at Baggott’s before ,needed a door for a tractor and ended up buying the whole tractor!!!
My dad used to drive a small wheeled county decked out in forestry gear, twin drum winch on the back and a what you could call a small dozing blade on the front, it was replaced with a red coloured thing called a highlander ( if I remember correctly) it was basically a equal wheeled county with a roof mounted log grab, don't think it had the blade on the front though, mind dad saying it was a scary thing to drive flat out though. Need to see some Muir-Hills next
Always wanted an 8210. Demoed one. Had 2500hrs on it. Dropped the engine oil. Coolant in it. Had to pass. Ran great though, looked like new. We were mostly a ford farm in the 80’s and 90’s, now we have a 4630, an excellent tractor. A 5610 and an 8870. New Holland badged of course. But I give ford the credit for that one, well most of the credit goes to Buhler Versatile, but the genesis engine is a Cracker Jack of a motor. Dynoed 303hp and 1600lb/ft of torque off the showroom floor.
Excellent video there Mucker and a good overview of the whole gaping market that the converters sought to fill while it existed. It's quite surprising in a way that many of these can still do a decent day's work and acquit themselves well. Thanks.
That was 20 mins of pure Ford tractor porn!! Loved it. You're so lucky getting to buy a 7810 and also own the 8100. I'd love to have either but nowhere to keep it!!
Back in 1985/6 the farm my father and myself worked on we had two Force 2 7610s that drilled all our carrots with Stanhay 12 row drills then almost straight away start harvesting with two Simon two row toplifters. They were very good tractors, very reliable and good pullers, thank you for another informative video, you've done well🏁🇬🇧
Well melod, I have sat here watching this video dribbling and drooling over those great Ford tractors. The 7600 next to your 7810 would be my dream tractor to buy if circumstances permitted. Congratulations on the 7810 and I look forward to seeing it star in a future video. Top stuff and doffage of cap in your direction!
I owned a J reg series 3 7810 and it was the most reliable tractor I have ever owned it left our farm with over 15000 hours and was replaced by a 00 reg 8360 which we still have
An old family friend was in agricultural finance and I remember he financed JJ Thomas when he first started doing the 6 cylinder conversions. Bearing in mind quite a few Fordson Majors had been retro fitted with the 6 cylinder version of the original engine (usually removed from Thames Trader lorries). The key point was that JJ Thomas produced a tidy conversion and upgrade to 5000 tractors but I also think he purchased a lot of selecta speed 5000s and at the time Ford were offering a new replacement manual back end to dissatisfied selecta speed owners. Therefore he was able to take the Ford offer, fit a new 6 cylinder industrial engine and he had almost got a new set of mechanicals and was virtually selling a new tractor when he had fitted new oversized wheels and tyres. A very canny business model? As the supply of selecta speed tractors dried up I think the enterprise struggled? Great video LM
I remember visiting County at Fleet while at Sparsholt. One of the advantages County equal sized wheel units had over Roadless was the two prop shafts so that when the diff was engaged it locked all four wheels instead of 3 on the roadless.
Great video, always find the conversions and all their variants so interesting. We have a home made conversation in the family, not quite sure how it came about but my uncle thought it be a good idea to put a V8 combine engine into a 7000 roadless, think it had to be stretched slightly to fit the engine in…and I can confirm it’s very loud!! 😂
Used to get to drive a County skidder with a double drum Igland winch. It would scare you where it would go....hence doors off for bailout purposes!!!!! Skidding out to another County with a bed processor and grapple. Any chance of a forestry episode? My favourite was a tiny Massey based skidder known as a Highland Bear. Keep up the good work!
Nice vid mucker, on the money about richard, wish there were more dealers like him around. 7810 eh 😆 i knew you'd have one in the end ,best tractor i ever drove . 👌
I worked for a Warwickshire contractor in the 80s - 90s all they had were Fords. From the 5000,7000,7610,7810,Tw35 to the Fw30 and the Versitlie 946,976. All great in their own way..
What can I say…..this video REALLY tugs at the heart strings!!! If only I could turn the clock back and start again…what would would we need be seeing now if FORD still made tractors???? In my view the last TW series were and still are the best looking tractors ever made❤️❤️ enjoy the 7810… look after her!! I’m lucky enough to drive a TM140…I still imagine she’s still my old TW15!! Brilliant video👍👍
I've always wondered where Roadless and County came from and what was different about them. Now I know. Thank you for that, I'm glad Ford finally got a clue and realized the market share they were missing out on. Granted, not so good for Roadless and county. bit, I'm glad they were able to land on their feet as well. Thanks for educating this mucker from the US.
I am on the same hymn sheet as you LM I used to drive an 8210 and loved it. Farm had 2. Then the 7810 came out. I have driven many of them, from brand new demos to high hours examples. Preforming various tasks. I really don't see what the excitement is about them. The 7610 had more slogging and staying power. The 7810 is like the MF3080 and other NA 6 cylinders of the time. Unless you can keep the revs high. They soon loose power and you come to a halt. Especially while hauling beet in wet conditions.
Thanks for letting go back to work on a plastic uncomfortable seat and not much of a heater 7600 days!! Love that barn and that 7810, but I’m like you the 8210 sounded and drove like a dream. Fenland Rob
I drove a 7810 on/off for a few years. I taught they were a good tractor. Nice to spend a day in. I could never warm to the looks. Impressive sq cab with a small low bonnet. I would much prefer the stance of the 8210, 7700. Looking forward to seeing what happens the 7810. As always quality video Mr Muck👍
Cracking video! Richard baggot is only around 15 miles from me, I'm sure I've said before the 7810 is my all time favourite tractor, so there is a bit of the old green eyed monster going on tonight! Best of luck with it, hope to see it in some future videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Another great video I love fords and always will was brought up with them like you the 8210 was the best but there was always something about the 8100 I loved and still do thank you for the memories mucker
Nice garage that! We used to own a 1983 ford 5610, sold it 3 years ago and got ourselfe a Valtra better suited for our forestry work. We are based in sweden but the guy who bought our ford bought it to export it to the UK. Was in really good nick, no rust or anything broken, original seat and so on.
Great video, thank you. Brings back loads of memories of Ford tractors that I have driven. Dexta, 3000, 5000, 7000, 5000 with a white bonnet and a six cylinder D series engine. 7400 which was a rare beast, TW20, TW15 7700,7600,7610 and probably what I would rate as one of the best tractors I ever had the pleasure to drive a 7810 only matched by a 110/90. Oh almost forgot an 8630 for a while but a troublesome gear box.
Great video and what a lovely selection of tractors. You've got the best of the bunch there for sure. Looking forward to seeing more of it on the channel. Those old Ford's remind me of my child hood.
Here in the U.S. we did not get many County conversions. We did get some Fordsons, particularly the Dexta, and the Super Major. Most tandem conversions were farmer done.
That was a great episode to watch, M, Lud. I could give all day gawking around that shed. I, ll give Richard a look up on Facebook. Thanks as always. Regards from Ireland
Very interesting video. I didn't know about the great 4WD saga with tractors. Good Luck with your new tractor that you hate the fact that you love it. The T shirt came in with the decals. Nice shirt. I am glad I bought it. The Fudweasel decal gives me a chuckle every time I see it on the back of my Jeep. Carry on mate!
Your right mucka that 8210 with the front fenders looks the part, it looks how a tractor should do.i don't know about performance but it's proportionally correct, the wheels look perfectly sized to the body of it, so yeah that's my tuppence worth! NICE 🦢 MUCK!!!👌
Unfortunately on the other side of the pond we never got enough of the 6cy utility tractors from any brand except JD 2840 and up. IH fitted a 6cy in a utility package in the sixties with the 606 then 656. No cab or 4x4. I've had several over the years. Europe was way ahead of US on 4x4 and cab development.
Great video, I have never heard of Roadless company only County brand. Lovely walk through of the conversions. Good luck with the new 🚜 👍great one Mucker.
Your a lucky man thanks for taking us along . With you on the 8210 drove one when I was young on the silage trailer thought I was the man Wil mid Wales
Thanks, great vid, as always. A lot of answers to questions I never knew I wanted to ask! Love a Ford conversion...always wanted a County, but the Mrs would go mad! Probably the bank manager too....
What an incredible collection of blue conversions.
I agree, 8210 was the Daddy in that range!
Well Lord Muck, after admitting everything you've said about them, you're now the proud owner of a 7810! Bought a few tractors of Richard. Great bloke to deal with always has a good stock of tractors.
This is a great video. Thanks again
The fact that the Ford 7000 was a rear tractor in circulation in the ROI.
Really interesting seeing all the different conversions and ford variants could spend hours there. There's a collection in Suffolk with barns packed full of county's, Roadless, Muir Hills I was lucky enough to get a look round last year

Fantastic video mucka if my old man was still here he would be exited to see that collection. Thankyou for sharing 👍🏻
Lovely video, very enjoyable, well done on your new purchase, look forward to seeing what you will do with the 7810

Good purchases I would say Lord Muck bud. My father's first ford was the 4000 hardy little tractor. 👍🚜
Really interesting video - congrats on the new Tractor!
"Right muckers" Cracks me up every time. That's a great collection of tractors!
Glad you enjoyed it David 👌🏼
I had a JJ Thomas 95-120 with a Schindler front 4wd axle on it
Had to sell it in 2012 when I got divorced - still gutted and would love to buy it back 😢
I know someone who has a 95-100 that’s 4wd been sat in the barn for 20 years!
@@bwagri mine had the cab cut off, but it was still a beast! One of those projects that was sat in my shed for years….

Great history lesson LM, much of the good stuff is born out of necessity!
I’m no Ford fan with the exception of a 7810, but that is an impressive collection. Thanks for sharing
Great video but if you ever track down a County FC I'd love to see a video of that! I'm sure you'll come to love the 7810!!
Loved driving the Ford 7000 cracking tractor of its day
Noise was a bugger though 😖
Used plough with 8210 turbo what a tractor
This is where i bought my first tractor and i saw all of theese tractors and it nice to know all about them
Just about to head out the door for a pint and you decide to publish a video 🙈, I'm going to be late now!

Oh and I must compliment you on the car roll in Shaft 😂 I must have watched it about 20 times !
Your content always makes me laugh 😉🤠🤠
@@LordMuck 🤣🤣🤣it wasn’t that funny at the time of the crash 😅 but we will live to tell another tale 🤠

Well ware sir I hope she goes well for you
I hate it when that happens! I went to a Ford dealership once to pick up some parts for my old truck. By the time I left, I was driving a new Ford truck!!!

Very informative thank you Mucker
Very good interesting video on these tractors.
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌 SIMPLY THE BEST 💪👍👌❤️
I love watching your videos you got so much compassion for what you do it's awesome that you love to share that knowledge is awesome
That is a brilliant collection and a great video explaining the differences. Look forward to news about your 7810.
I sold the 8100 last summer to th white Hereford, I can’t believe I it’s it’s in this video, we had that 8100 for 37 years on the farm
It’s really nice that the Union Jack is still on the side grill 🇬🇧
He was certainly a clever man 😉
I remember visiting County at Fleet while at Sparsholt.
I'll have to come take a look at that !
Grew up with old fords.
Used to go to the doe show every year as a kid. Great video
Brilliant video mucky some interesting tractors there
What an amazing collection of lovely tractors, I like the fact they are in varied condition, some look mint others clearly earned their keep.
Congratulations on your purchase. Great old tractor.
Enjoyed that, great collection and congrats on the 7810👍
I've always wondered where Roadless and County came from and what was different about them.
I like the 7810 but have to agree with you 8210 for me as well
Cracking video! Richard baggot is only around 15 miles from me, I'm sure I've said before the 7810 is my all time favourite tractor, so there is a bit of the old green eyed monster going on tonight! Best of luck with it, hope to see it in some future videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic video really enjoyed that, love the old County tractors. his yard is only a few miles from where i used to live..
Another great video I love fords and always will was brought up with them like you the 8210 was the best but there was always something about the 8100 I loved and still do thank you for the memories mucker
Great video , delighted to see the Thomas tractors i was always a fan of those
Nice garage that!
Brilliant, been looking for to this for ages thanks for sharing!
Cracking video what a collection he has there nice 7810 in your collection now. Keep up the good work
That was a great episode to watch, M, Lud.
Glad it all arrived Jorge !
Interesting variations of Ford Tractors. Good luck with your new old tractor 😃 great stuff.
T shirt came the other day. It's a belter.
Glad you like it 😉
Your right mucka that 8210 with the front fenders looks the part, it looks how a tractor should do.i don't know about performance but it's proportionally correct, the wheels look perfectly sized to the body of it, so yeah that's my tuppence worth! NICE 🦢 MUCK!!!👌
Hi good vid, working for a blue dealer,we fitted t b turbo kits to 8210s 140hp running forgets, also front turn presses and 6 furrow ploughs
Brilliant vid. What a collection 👍
Nice one Lord Muck, enjoy..
Thanks LM, this video compliments the Ford Tractor Story - part 2 book I’m reading, great to see them on film. Maybe one day I’ll get a 3000 or 4000.
I always love your videos! Information and history are important.
My dad had a county forward control with a limespeader on
just bought 2 more from Richard sure the reason I buy them is to look at his collection.
Thanks, great vid, as always. A lot of answers to questions I never knew I wanted to ask! Love a Ford conversion...always wanted a County, but the Mrs would go mad! Probably the bank manager too....
