    Old rules on what tractors do. First traction having enough tire to pull the machine. Second enough weight to get the tires to grip the dirt. Finally enough power to keep the tires moving. If you get the right balance of these factors for the conditions you will compete on you will win unless the 8210 is also set for conditions.

    I think if it was a race against them then the 7810 would come out on top but pulling random implements would work in the 8210s favour. Can’t wait for this one!! Fenland Rob

    I used to love those "old" Fords.... We had a 7610 on the farm where I used to work. It replaced the 6610 that was our mainstay for pulling power, which in turn replaced the 5000 before it. Then I went to work at an agricultural college where we had a shed load of tractors to choose from. I thought it would be good to try out the 7810, but I was disappointed with it. The 76 was a better machine in a number of ways, but then I was told that "That One" was a heap o' shy.... little fella he was, which was why no one else wanted to drive it. As you say, they did seem a bit variable from one to another, and our engineering bods soon found themselves involved in dyno testing them all. Let's say it was interesting to see the differences between them. Even the dealers couldn't find any reason for the discrepancies - even after an engine stripdown and rebuild, but I believe the fuel injection system came under suspicion at one point, and it runs in my mind that we had one with an inline injector pump, and one with a DPA pump. I'm not 100% sure how that panned out in the end. My health wasn't too good by then and I was on the verge of early retirement. I never saw the end of the "investigations".

    Always more than one way to get the job done. For example I was plowing in slurry yesterday with my Deutz D100 06 with MFWD the slurry made it hard to pull a three bottom plow. Some people would say turbo that tractor to "make it" a 130 06 instead of that what I will do add back on the front weights and put a dual tire on the land side.

    The 7810 was a good pulling tractor, i used to use one on a 5 Furrow Reversible Plough, the only thing that let them down was being able to clean the radiators out properly, which is were a 7910 or 8210 would have been a better tractor for Arable work.

    Engine wise, ther eis no difference between the 7810 and 8210 only a 1 screw of the pump. Depends on how much the 8210 is screwed, that 7810 is below standard judging on the smoke in the other video. Only a observation andthe cap is on pump screw so it might never have been touched. I gave mine a small screw and is running at 96hp on shaft. 8210 is lowly geared and it may work in it"s favour.

    • @LordMuck
      @LordMuck  8 месяцев назад +2

      8210 actually runs a slightly lower compression ratio than the 7810 from factory so there's a bit more to it than that.
      We'll have them dyno'd so that will give us more of an idea of what they're putting out.

    Sounds like a great stand off Mucka, but I have one question that I’m downgrading to know, when are you putting the video out about what your favourite tractor is. PLEASE 🙏

      I put it on the back burner after being F**ked about by a manufacturer but now it's got to happen as I need the room to do the 7810.
      I'll say January...
