At least you can steer yours Lord Muck! My major 1957 back end/1963 super major engine combination stood outside for years and recently I had to fork lift the front end to get it in the shed as the steering box had seized solid. No doubt rainwater has something to do with it. Thanks for the video, I'm going to check how we adapted our linkage to fit the newer engine.
Awesome as always Mucker, my dad used to train sheep dogs for competition and work them on the farm - but he would never abandon an old friend even when they got too old or sick to work. Fantastic your doing so much for the collies. I’m Irish but living in Oz, you should take a spin down here some time and do some vids on the gear down here 👍👍
Great video kurt, good to see the old girl up n running, any harvest videos coming, see your insta photo of finished harvest. Get some of the fud weasel crap out and there be plenty room.
Love the tractors love the Collies even more. Parents had one as child, her name was Lady....a most fine dog if ever.....thanks for this....big heart, peace.
First tractor I drove,major,unique sound,lever throttle,heavy cluch!Dexta later grand tractor,always had the gearshift bolts finger tight,selectors were a nightmare,forever jamming,happy days!👍🚜
You Sir are a legend! You obviously have a bit of a liking for the Dexta but are willing to sell her and help the Collies ! Bloody good show Mucker ! You guys are doing well with the old machines it’s good to watch ! Thanks for the content ! Oh and those Thermal Arc sets are great I’ve got one here ! Great for site work !
It’s always a good a day when you release a new video. I like your practical approach just “getting stuff done”. Much like myself, I have a disability and I use a powerchair to get about so have to be resourceful. Good to see Tom, and I see from a later comment he’s well. You’ve created a great community. All the best Mucker.
Good video. Good bit of farm fix. If it works there is nothing wrong with it. How many amps effing all of them cracked me up. Heart as big as yourself for caring for the Collie rescue. My hat is off to you. Thanks for sharing.
Love a workshop where things are over the place, my mates place is a bit like that yet knows where everything is! Good to see the ole churn of destiny acting at a fitting tool box table. I actually look forward to Sunday nights to see these vids mate.
Great video to sit with a beer and have a watch, that major is a really nice original honest tractor, as I have got older I have come to realise in my opinion they are better in their working clothes tells a story and adds to the history. Sadly when I bought my first Fergie many many years ago I painted it, it's now starting to mellow nicely though. A really nice gesture for the collie rescue that Dexta will make a nice tractor for someone
Ironically it came up in my picture memories on my phone. It was 31.7.2021 you bought the major. I was at the sale. It's Come on a long way in a year. Well done Mucka 🤔
@@douglasanderson7732 I'm claiming the initiative on that little trick. Only because I can't find the sodding tin full of assorted split pins...... again!
Have had the same welder for about 10-15 years, like you say, brilliant bit of kit 👌 although we have much bigger “better” machines I always seem to be whipping the little thermal arc out 👍great work as always , many thanks
Nice one mucker good to see the major's wheels turning again . Just where I started back in the day major super major and the little Dexter. Hope you make loads for the Collie fund
Your throttle linkage fix should be in the “Quick fix, bodges and creation” thread on The Farming Forum……….. …..except that the steel rod you used was too good. It would have been better if you had used an old electric fencing stake, preferably well bent! Or better still, a bit of baller twine and an elastic band acting as a spring to keep it tight. However, full marks for using de-ionising water instead of degreaser!
As a child I had a matchbox toy model of a super major with a tipper trailer attached. So for me a tractor is blue with red wheels and no cab. Crap for the farmer in real life, as this is a small island in the north atlantic and usually cold and wet, but that's a tractor in my rose tinted world. 😎 Great vlog as usual. 🤡🐔
Whahey it moves! Lots of blue oval today! Have fun getting the dexta ready for the sale, hope it makes a good profit for the collie's. Is it me or is there red with a grey stripe everywhere in the background?? That excavator video is something to look forward too, a mate of mine might be in the market for one so can't wait to see all the in's and out's👍 Cracking vid als always, all the best! Cheers, Mike

Nice to see the old girl running and moving I've missed the other videos on the major I've got pictures of my grandad driving his major 947hrt so seeing that plate is nice as it's close to his
Your throttle linkage is a space age repair over the old spam can filter fix that you unearthed a few moons ago. Nice tyre swap although always good to see a guest appearance by Dan.
Hi Mucker only been watching your channel for a short while but enjoying the content, I have a Dexta myself which I was restoring up until about 5 years ago but had to stop due to damaging my back which has left me unable to move about very well anymore but I have a friend who is going to help me finish restoring the tractor, I do get asked on a regular basis if I'm selling it but I could never do that as my uncle left me the tractor, sadly he dropped dead from a heart attack about 19 years ago at the age of 39 but my daughter inherits the tractor after I'm gone so god knows what she will do with it though, anyway good luck with raising money for the Collie dogs a very worthy cause, as for me I've always had English Springer Spaniels but my uncle many years before he passed away had a collie sadly though it ran out of the farm gate and was run over by a car.
Great video Kurt👍 hope the major keeps its reg no sort off quite fitting for what she's had done 🙄😁 that Tom is a superb dog 🐕🤗🤗 we lost 2 dogs in past year an they're tough times ☹️ hope the dexta sells well it's for a great cause 👌

Another great video well done with the fordson I just purchased a ransomes motor triple a this winter I am going treat myself to a ransomes mg5 crawler hope you are keeping well.
Fun bit about linkages like that is just a trip to the hardware store to get a length of rod and some heim joints. Cut the rod to length, thread the ends with a die, add the heim joints and look new linkage not hard at all. Why people think parts on equipment can't be made is beyond me
"put a bit of wind in there,". I thought maybe you were going to have The Fud Weasel and George Sanders over for a pint and beans on toast. Definitely get some wind that way.
No end of tractors, good of you to sell the Dexter to raise money for the collie dogs and get the Leyland out of your hair. My Grandfather had a Leyland Marina when I was a kid and it was Shiiite, so I'm a bit wary of Leyland vehicles and a Leyland tractor send a shiver up my spine. I am in Australia and went with my brother to unbog a neighbours ute and there was a grey Massie in a barn and my brother asked what he was doing with it (it wold has pulled his ute out save us bringing our tractor over) and he said it didn't run well and we got the impression it had scared him. So my brother bought it for AU$1500 or 750 quid, good for a little grey diesel that goes and we have a spare donk. Keep up the entertaining work and look forward to next time.
Particularly fine episode. Made me laugh and showed your humanity again. Good one. Any chance of a close up pic of your tyre pump, I've got the same one but no ends and can't remember what they look like where it exits the pump - if you get q minute. Ta!

You look a bit surprised when the old Ford's super major fired up was it a bit of a shark that it went So quick
If you could pick any make or model out of the vintage late 50s/60s machines. Would Fordson be your go too?
Looks like a drop of oil under the bell housing there, potentially a rear main gone on the new motor or just a bit residual shite on the floor?
It's from me spilling some oil when topping up earlier
Have you got my 1961 electrobubble running in there?
