Wow over 1,000 likes at nearly 70,000 views... That's awesome! Honestly I didn't think this video would go above 10k. I have also received over 2,000 subs since this upload. Thanks! :)
I started watching your channel a few days ago and I'm getting obsessed with terrariums. Yesterday, I've finally made a terrarium as a bday gift for my gf. Thanks a lot.
Coming back to this to say an overdue thank you, Tanner. I found this video while trying to make a bioactive tank for my G. portentosa pets... I'd tried and failed a few times already and was close to giving up, but your videos were exactly what I needed. My tank has been thriving and just reached 1 year old with minimal maintenance. I've even made some smaller stuff for fun and as gifts to friends. You definitely got me hooked! I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge and creativity.
I only watch u for anything terrarium related, so far ur the only person I've found who sounds like they've actually had firsthand experience and know what they're talking about.
Hey! I've just recently got the idea in my head that I want to build a closed terrarium, and as with any idea that pops in my head I'm doing the best research I can. So I ended up here watching your video, and I just want to tell you - thank you for doing this, and keep up the good work :) Eventhough I've learned most of the stuff I need to do for a closed terrarium by now, your video is the most informing and entertaining I've encountered so far, and it really makes me want to go and try this myself. Keep on doing stuff like this, you're inspiring more people than you probably know! \o/

Could you do a video about plants that are suitable for terrariums like this one? I am having trouble finding plants with tiny leaves, and I came across a few with tiny leaves like 'pilea depressa' but I am not sure if that's a creeper or even a tropical plant. I'd be curious how to identify plants what would work in such an environment. Thanks!

Probably you hear this a lot but thanks for doing what you do and let people know about cool hobbies like this one. Since watching this video 2 weeks ago, made 2 learning terrariums.
You're such a humble and inspiring guy Serpa. Your knowledge to nature's own treasures is so cool. I've already made myself my first terrarium and it turned out great thanks to your videos. ^.^
I have been designing fairy gardens now for almost a year, but I've always been a gardener and grow all types of gardens regularly! But you have inspired me to start doing terrariums!! I live in South Alabama nearest the coast and my area is the best type of area to create native terrariums, due to the high humidity and warm climate i have here! So i have started collecting plants and watching your videos on the regular to set my terrariums up grandly! I also have my own youtube channel with how to videos on my fairy gardens and i will also have a video up soon about my first ever terrarium made! Ill be designing it the way you do here on your channel as well and i will give credit to Serpa Designs, since you gave me all the inspiration! thank you for inspiring me!
Thanks for passing on your knowledge. I enjoy my plants and have an indoor fountain so you've now inspired me to become more creative. Brilliant channel.
You're definitely the most informative and entertaining channel on this topic. Thank you for the video, your channel has really helped me while researching for my biology project for school. Thank you for the video, I love it!
Great video SerpaDesign. Always a fan of terrariums and already wanted to me one. Keep up the great work. REAL enjoyed your video. Thank you again for sharing. Will try to make one soon!
Was feeling upbeat, hoping to emulate this lovely terrarium till he said "And my cat died" at the end...and now I'm depressed with a bag of coco fiber in my lap
Really loved your video! So much great information for a newbie like me! I'm trying to do as much research before tackling my first terrarium. I'll definitely subscribe and check out all your videos. Again, thank you!
Hi! I recently found out your channel. It's been very informative and inspiring. I'm gonna set my first terrariums this weekend and put into practice some of what I learned from you. Thanks =). Keep rocking!
I would love to see a video on a large closed terrarium, or perhaps are tiny one. I also really liked you video about native terrariums, maybe you could make a different version of it. More videos about vivariums would also be awesome. Additionally, regular updates on existing terrariums could be really cool. Perhaps you could make a timelapse of one of your terrariums to show how plants grow in a tiny ecosystem. Keep up the good work, love your vids so far :D
SerpaDesign : I lay down a challenge: Now connect one of your recycling terraria: Now hook it up to a formicarium. Clue: you'll need to use a connecting port or two. You're well and truly on the right track, should you DARE to proceed! PS: Formicarium/terrarium. These days the endings [s] or [aria] don't really matter. Just be consistent in which you use.
I'm pretty interested in this idea. Although I will have to figure it all out logistically, but I'm not sure if I want to get into ants at the moment. I added it to my idea book for the future. Note, I didn't take the challenge, but may some day!
I remember my grandmother had one a long time ago, as a kid I loved to just look at it, I remember how I wanted one of my own. As a teenager I tried to do it, but I didn't know how so the thing that I made wasn't even close. :D Now that I have found this, I think I'm going to make it my project. I really wanna make one, AND I have a glass container just sitting around that is similar to the one my grandmother had. :) But I have NO knowledge on this so I'm gonna be asking for a lot of help from the gardnening stores around my hometown. :D Thank you for this video, it explaines the prosess very nicely.

Thank you
I don't know if you made the video for harvesting the drift wood, I haven't seen it in your videos. But, it would be super awesome if you would make it, as well how to clean charcoal from a fire pit. Thank you, I think the screen might help I've tried this 2 times now and it keeps getting moldy after about a month or two, I've done everything I was supposed to and put a little sand, small stones, I even sprinkled some of the activated charcoal over that then put the soil, then planted two small plants they told me to use at the greenhouse where I bought all the stuff and talked to them about it, put moss then a few decorative rocks, and only very lightly waterd it that first time, I even the second time took the lid off when it looked too moist. My jar is about double the size that you used here... thank you for your time.
It's tough to say exactly what could have been the issue as there are a lot of variables to consider. What type of substrate were you using? Do you know what plants were used? What do you consider "lightly watered" and "too moist"?

SerpaDesign haha I figured that. Great ideas, creative and informative, gonna do this with my kids.
Surfer Ken Awesome, definitely a good family project. 👍
And my CACTI.
You should make a video about what animals could be in a small terarium
Ants, flies, worms.
Jeremy Marks you could catch a mantis or spider and put it in there.
colin hamilton Mantis's need air and lots of climbable surfaces, but they are great pets. :D
Bailey Mitchell their is air in terrariums and just add tree branches 😂
KalebCanadian she was saying you shouldn't have a lid on it if you put a praying mantis in the terrarium. With the lid they won't have a lot of air.
I live in a tropical rainforest. Why am I wantching this
Sombra u can put ur home in ur pocket :D and travel with it lol
It's still pretty cool though, making a closed ecosystem like that ;D
Sombra So you can make rainforest terrariums to sell to tourist? 😐
I think you just coined a new term. WANTCHING: the art of watching someone else do something you want to do.
Amber Fillmore then I WANTCH all day
I have to say i rather enjoy you making terrariums and your voice! Thank you very much for making these videos! :D
This guy is excellent. Thank you so much for your help.
A little tip, use long tweesers when planting in tight containers . Will make it a lot easier to plant etc the terrarium.
